Pokeathalon was pretty cool, but the movies will forever be my favorite sidecontent.

...except for the Underground, that is.

Pokeathlon was my favorite main series minigame(s), too, with Voltorb Flip a close second.

The Living Guildpact rules that coffee is an acceptable substitution for rest as specified in subsection … whatever.

Are we still talking about our favorite Dark and Ghost types?

I'm a fan of Zoroark and Golurk

Not that our small pool of people is really indicative of anything but it's interesting to me that we have some consistency in pokestar studios being better received as non-battle content.

I wonder why?

It's a non-battle content that has battles in it.

It works on the same basic template but has different goals compared to standard battles. The result is that it retains most of the rules, so it feels more natural as an addition to the game.

I sure said that!

Plus it works as an extension of battling (figuring out puzzles with what you have), rather than a replacement for it.

Also you can make movies that make Wiseau/Shyamalan blush.

Also you don't need to completely redo your Pokemon's moves and feed them poffins/pokeblocks to outsparkle the AI.

So I thought of something with the Regigigas discussion a few pages back. What if there was a Greninja with Protean and Skill Swap? Just max out Greninja's speed stat, give it a Choice Scarf or whatever, and it'll be like whatever you're buffing to have this ability, like say Regigigas, Slaking or an Archeops, had the ability from the start. As a plus, you can saddle one of your opponent's with a potentially worse ability. Or maybe even switch Greninja out and put it back in later but go for Fling or something. Well, if Greninja survives that long.

Call me butter, because I am on a roll! 3ds friend code: 5258-0885-3903 Wii U: Bowser Charizard

Worry Seed Whimsicott is sometimes used in Doubles. It has Prankster so Thundurus can't stop it and it doesn't need a Choice Scarf.

  • Favourite ghost and dark types that are breedable and not shiny locked

If this goes well enough and I'm not set back by bad luck too much, I might also do a poison type.

My favorite side things in Pokemon were the Underground and Pokestar Studios, same as most everyone else here. Honestly, a fully 3D cinematic Pokestar Studios is one of the main reasons I hope we eventually get Gen 5 remakes somewhere down the line.

Oh my Arceus, how great would a Pokestar Studios spin-off game be?

I loved Pokestar Studios.

But I hated how move accuracy, status effect chances, and critical hits all still applied. They should have at least eliminated luckhax since it throws off the movies completely.

But the strange endings were the best. Forget confessing love to the other trainer, why not confess your love to their snarky Smeargle?

Also, the concept of Brycenman is the best thing, and he even has his own battle data and cry.

I have to admit, too, I didn't expect them to reveal Sabrina's day job being "actress" of all things.

She must be in high demand, since she can make practical effects that otherwise would have to be computer-edited.

I sure said that!

Houndoom and Mismagius for fav Dark/Ghost faves.

Late to the party, but is there a thread to exchange 3ds friend codes to expand the Friend Safari?

I don't think https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13822275430A31789500&page=1 is pretty active.

You can also try /r/friendsafari or gamefaqs.

I can add you if you need frogadier (I forgot the other two that are on it).

I really like Poke Star, although I agree it wasn't flawless. It took me quite a while to get Brycen-Man Strikes Back Harder (I forgot just how absurd that title was) to work but it was a neat way to use the battle mechanic. The underground was cool too. I guess contests are kind of nice but they require a lot of investment so I could never really get into them.

[up][up] Thanks for the links! Is only the type predetermined or are the three pokemons always the same no matter what?

I remember being a Fairy-friend, but I have no idea of my mons - I restarted playing Y recently after a year-and-a-half break and started all over.
