You know all those people Cell just killed? Both through drinking them and blowing up islands They all get wished back. As do the people killed by Buu, and Vegeta in the Buu Saga, and there's even some overlap since all the people Vegeta killed died a second time. But you know who never got brought back to life? All the people Nappa killed when he blew up that city. And then in the filler he also wiped out the entire Navy. Why do they have to stay dead when everyone else gets brought back?
Actually, all the people Cell killed don't get brought back after Buu kills them due to the way the Dragon Balls work. Likewise, if anyone in the audience that Vegeta nuked had been revived before, they're gone forever, too. Oh, and don't forget all the people on Papaya Island when Piccolo nuked it during the 23rd Budoukai. They're all dead forever as well. As for the people Nappa killed, they don't get brought back due to the nature of the wish they made. Same goes for that one Namekian village that Vegeta killed.

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Because Piccolo was dead, so no Kami, so no Shenron, so no Mass Revive available until after the time limit had passed.
And 16, but that's sort of irrelevant.
Jason has come back to kill for Mommy.Think on this: all the people Semi-Cell killed in the archipelago WERE revived...in the middle of the ocean in an ex-archipelago.
I expect Gohan's frustration toward Goku and Goku's bad parenting to continue well into the Cell Games until Piccolo calls him out for it.
When Goku's spirit is talking Gohan through finding the confidence to win the Beam Struggle with Super Perfect Cell, that's where I expect this subplot to be resolved; Goku making peace with Gohan for never being there for him or thinking much about his needs, and finally giving Gohan the emotional support he needs to defeat Cell.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.The people Buu killed were brought back by Porunga. Not Shenron. Which means absolutely none of that is even remotely true.
If someone who had been killed by Cell was at the tournament, then the wish to revive the people Vegeta killed that Bulma made on Earth's Dragon Balls wouldn't have worked. But the wish to revive all the good people who died since the day of the tournament that Dende made on Namek would have.
As an example of this, Vegeta was brought back by Earth's Dragon Balls, with the wish to revive everyone killed by Frieza and his men, and he came back after Buu. Android 17 was brought back by the wish to restore everyone Cell had killed, and he came back after Buu. Krillin was brought back once by Earth's Dragon Balls and once by Namek's Dragon Balls, and he came back after Buu.
...Also, I like the theory that Dende won't become Guardian of Earth in the abridged series. Because Goku will forget he can teleport.
Which also means that 17 won't come back and his aspirations of being a park ranger will end up being a shaggy dog story.

Porongu seems capable of reviving en masse... maybe just for warriors he only does it one at a time because hey these guys are elsewhere other than in line to meet the Mahogany desk.
It's explained in the Buu Saga that he was upgraded to be capable of mass revival in the time between the creation of New Namek and the Buu crisis.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.I actually forgot that it was Porunga who did that revival.
The upgrade was likely made by the guy who replaced the Grand Elder. Of course, Namek's Dragon Balls can do infinite, mass revival and still give three wishes so why can't Earth's? Dende needs to step up his game.

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!@Wanderlustwarrior: But all Vegeta did was throw a manchild temper tantrum to become a Super Saiyan because he was pure manchild.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Goku is pure manchild.
I have a message from another time...Yeah but he didn't throw a tantrum about how much he wanted to be a Super Saiyan and became one as a result.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Know what the worst part in all of this is? Goku is clearly trying to be a father now. Then again, I also feel that Gohan's resentment of Goku is a combination of both absence as well as (and especially) Goku's seeming indifference towards him up until now.

This shall be my true, Start of DarknessWait a second, what happened between the father-son scene during the Vegeta fight and Gohan straight up dissing Goku in the last episode?
This shall be my true, Start of DarknessSince then,
- He snubbed Gohan on Namek to talk to Krillin
- Gohan realized during the Ginyu fight that he has abandonment issues.
- Goku refused to return to Earth, leaving Gohan feeling maliciously abandoned and betrayed and prompting him to snap at his friends.
- He finally did return to Earth, whereupon he insisted on training. Gohan was intensely frustrated by this but went along with it begrudgingly.
- Gohan saw much of his father's idiocy first-hand, including but not limited to
- Outright telling Chi-Chi they're training to fight the Androids after three years of keeping it secret, then smacking her through the wall.
- Dumping Gohan at the bottom of a cliff to go drive cars with Piccolo.
- Not taking his heart medicine because it was grape-flavored.
- Forgetting he could teleport while Piccolo was needlessly getting slaughtered trying to protect the Androids.
Gohan's had a lot of development to his abandonment issues and been the straight man to a lot of Stupid Goku jokes. Almost any time they're onscreen together, Gohan comes off as the more mature party. Hence Gohan shooting down Goku's, "I am an adult!" insistence.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Exactly. I really like how they were actually building up on them. Like, they are all jokes individually, but they actually tell Gohan's daddy issues progression.
You know, I wonder if this is going to culminate in a reveal that Goku has been obfuscating stupidity this entire time and the reason he's been somewhat cold to Gohan is because he knew Gohan's power only awakened via rage and purposefully doing things to make Gohan hate him so he'll snap and unleash his power when they need it.
Yeah, it'd make Goku even more of an asshole and a bad father but still. It'd be interesting.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I honestly hope not. I like idiotic Goku who have the moments of brightness. If turns out he is actually a completely asshole this whole time, it will hard to like him.
I think my issue is I don't want them to change Gohan's SSJ 2 transformation. But if they keep the whole "resentment of Goku" subplot, that might be a major part of it.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!I just saw the new episode.
Moose-tash moose-tash moose-tash!
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseThe grape-flavored thing was a bit justified considering he seemed to have a severe allergy to grapes, otherwise, makes sense. But then, why does Goku care now? I don't even mean with the time chamber, because he actually tried comforting Gohan when Piccolo died too.
