The only true mistake I see on there is ignoring city states and putting a manufactory on gems

1) I always upgrade every tile in my cities, no reason not to. But prioritize which ones to do and spread them out to all cities.

2) It's a very common and successful strategy to get Great Library. In fact, y you can successfully focus on solely wonders in your capital if you go Liberty first and get a settler as your 3rd policy.

3) Building wonders in multiple cities only matters for a very specific policy. If you don't get that policy there isn't any reason why you could not do it.

4) Literally no army? You could use this to your advantage to provoke war and buy up defense units. But generally you should still have a few units ready Archers and Knights are very useful on defense.

One of the things you might consider for wonders in multiple cities is the great people they make. And also that Korea wants all science wonders in the capital

Even if you do get that policy, you only need one wonder per extra city. I generally use Great Engineers for those, although it's really not that important since your secondary cities won't be getting much culture anyway, relatively.

Though it could be just that I don't have quite the length of playtime in this that I did in IV, but I've found that it's not as easy to get multiple manufacturing powerhouse cities in this game than it is there - at least in the early-to-mid game (usually I'd have my capital, a city I mostly used for unit creation and a third city which I would share wonders with between it and my capital). So if you're going for wonders, at least being prepared to have your capital be the "wonder city" in case you can't get another city up to snuff is fairly viable.

Though if you're not going for Liberty, you should be prepared to miss out on a wonder or two getting your settlers up.

That happens to me every time I go on the offensive. I sneak up right to the border of whatever city I'm going to capture, rush in, and barrage it and its defense for like 5 turns. Then I find out that while I still have several units left none of them can capture the city. End result is that my army gets plinked to death by a city that has no health left.

So I tried out the Inuit Civ mod. I had quite a bit of fun with their unique unit. See, they're a scout with a ranged attack.

I was playing on extended eras and there was a lull between I could do anything so I decided to mass produce an army of this fodder.

Sitting Bull then settled a place I wanted and I proceeded to swarm his cities and capture them all.

This time I was smart enough to take screenshots, so here's The start of the war: Unlaaq Rush 1 and here's t'wards the end Unlaaq Rush 2.

At the height of the rush I had 33 unlaaq scouts sieging 3 cities at once.

Unrelated: Isn't it obnoxious that the Ai can complain about me taking their allies (Or my allies they just stole) but I can't complain about them? Australia keeps buying my allies so I let our Do F fall off and I denounced him and am planing to nuke him for making me waste so much money buying my allies back.

HAH. I outwondered Egypt as Boudicca. I also kinda crushed the Songhai. In my defense, the guy got really, really, really pushy. But now I am the largest civ, and that makes it a pain to bring down Halie Selassie. Ugh.

Selassie is such an annoying opponent due to his passive...

Nah, we are past that era. My Picts are Pikemen now. I do have a veritable horde of cannons, however, with which I render any silly AI approach null. The best part is that I not only outwondered Egypt (I only lost a couple of Wonders I like...basically, Angkor Wat and The Oracle. But the one that hurt to lose, was The Forbidden Palace) but I have the two people in my continent (Halie Selassie, and Kamehameha) absolutely PISSED at me (for killing Askhia) but the other continent, with Sweden, Egypt, The Maya and Venice, are all happy about the research agreement biznis. So I can probably play them for some benefits to appropriate the ENTIRE continent which was originally spanned for 4 civilizations without warmonger penalties

Maybe I can even get llanfwyakosjfnasiofuhaskfwhatever

I believe when I looked it up to see if I was close to the achievement I found that "Llanfairpwllgwyngyll" is the 33rd city name for Celts. I can't imagine founding that many of my own cities.

Checking again, I see on a thread on civfanatics that you cannot earn the achievement as Attila vs. Celts, but you can playing as Celts vs. Celts if someone else settles it and you capture. So playing on a large map with lots of Celtic A.I.s would be the quickest route.

One does not necesarily have to found them. If you conquer the enemy city and rename it to the next one on the list of cities, the next one you found will follow the naming convention.

As such, I renamed Gao (Songhai Capital) to Douglas, and so on and so forth.

Picts retain their 15% bonus outside of their own territory and no movement cost to pillage.

Once they make Lancer, they are a force to be reckoned with; I can tear an ill prepared nation's economy to shreds and then saunter in with Artillery and a handful of Rifles to wipe out the rest.

Ugh. I hate it when people start hating me all of a sudden. I was getting along with someone perfectly well and suddenly they hate me. From Friendly to Guarded, even though I did nothing to him.

Venica is being kind of a douche, too, since he stole the Forbidden Palace out of me and is pushing hard to ban all of my luxury products...

I find that usually happens as a counter victory move; if you start winning by a wide margin, people start wanting to stop you and so they suddenly get belligerant.

It makes less sense flavourwise, if you wanted to imagine it as a realistic game where these are actual Civs; nearly achieving interstellar travel seems an odd reason to hate someone. Considering though that I tend to invent Gatling guns before Gunpowder, it seems like a perfectly suitable game mechanic to me to stop the AI from kissing your ass even as you buy your way to the final stages of victory.

What is bizarre is that it came from one civilization only (in this case, The Mayas), whereas the other three I was friends with, I am still friends with. As in, in the same conditions.

Would anyone care to recommend a civilization to me? Modded or not I don't care.

See I like to plant 2 cities, wall myself in, get a decent military, plant my last two cities and spend the rest of the game either trading or conquering Rome/Napoleon who has taken over the rest of the world while I've walled myself off.

Babylon seems a step in the right direction but too science oriented, likewise Leugi's modded Phoenician Civilization is a step too close to being nothing but a trader.

Unrelated: Tried to play Vanilla again for the heck of it, on turn 37 I met Alexander, and his three cities. Ugh. Both he and Napoleon near instantly declared war because I had the gall to try and build schools and farms rather than archers and brutes.

I've been wondering what other people actually think about http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=175725204

She might be a tad powerful compared to unmodded civs though. But she should fit your strategy well, her extra food providing you with a wealth of population especially into late game with the Freedom ideology.

Uhm. India does a decent job at having few cities. You need no more than three or so to get away with whatever you need. I do not download things so you are on your own there. Ethiopia might work if you are constantly besieged, and if it is war you go often, Moctezuma def takes the cake (Small map, raging barbies moctezuma rules).

The japanese have a pretty good passive for war from what I understand, but their civ only benefits units. China used to be the go to for conquerors but they got nerfed.
