S14 could be a half season, that would be fine.
I heard someone (Think it was Dabb, could have been Glass) say they wanted SPN to be the American Dr Who.
1) Star Trek already is.
2) While I wouldn't necessarily mind such, the show had its best chance after S5 by setting up a new group of hunters and establishing the show as an anthology of rotating hunters (which I think could have been awesome). Unfortunately now, with 12 seasons it's just too tied to J&J(&M) for the show to ever survive removing them (even though the last few seasons haven't required the characters).
But it's fun to imagine what could have been.
I think the fact that the Chicago spinoff failed is just nails in the franchise coffin, tbh
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youThe backdoor pilot is one of the worst episodes they ever did, though....honestly, I wouldn't mind following Claire eventually. And if Misha wants to stop doing the show, you can always find an excuse why Castiel's vessel got destroyed and eventually put him into another one.
I wouldn't have minded them doing a Skins and changing the cast after a fe seasons, but I'm glad the Chicago spinoff never materialized. The backdoor pilot is still the only episode I had to stop watching before the end.
Nightsky was spot on about why Bloodlines not only didn't work, but couldn't work. It would be like trying to pass off Stargate:SG 1 as a Star Trek spin off just because Spock and Kirk show up (oh right). And basically they should have known better than to try and rip off Grimm when Grimm is chugging along just fine doing its thing.
But part of me is nervous because now that he's in charge, things look set for S12 to finally be the Grimm-esque conflict Dabb may have wanted in SPN:BL and that makes me nervous.
Technically Claire could be Castiel's vessel if he needed one.

Even that could be interesting...naturally they would need to find a way to make it believable, but then they could do something I always considered a missed opportunity in the show, exploring the relationship between Angle and Vessel. It would have been pretty interesting if there had been scenes of Jimmy interacting with Castiel in his mind. I can't see Castiel shutting a vessel completely down the way he did with Jimmy ever again (I guess he is really glad that his current body is completely his own).
Plus you could hire Misha to act as Castiel's voice and have him just stand around in scenes since it's all in Claire's head.
Since Angels need to have permission to enter a body, it means that if Cas ever vacates Jimmy, he's locked out, doesn't it?
Lucifer could only enter Sam's body with permission from the occupying soul (even if it was another human). I'd imagine if he could simply enter it when it was unoccupied, they'd only need to kill Sam and have the Devil slide on in.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youThe Devil is still an angel operating under the same rules (in Supernatural), so whatever works for him would work for Cas or vice-versa.
Though in episode 5.16 Dark Side of the Moon, Sam & Dean WERE killed and neither of them were hijacked by Mike or Luci. (though they did have the sigils on their bones that kept them hidden so whether the archangels could have if they found them...)
Oh wait, it probably can't work that way since anyone of John Winchester's line can be a vessel for Michael and the angels brought Adam back to full life rather than just have Mike take over the dead body. In episode 5.03 Free to be You and Me we have this exchange: SAM I will kill myself before letting you in. LUCIFER I'll just bring you back.
Notice Lucifer says, "bring you back" rather than "I'll take over anyway, then." Both would then imply that angels need living bodies to take over (no problem, they can heal & rez) while demons are the ones who can animate corpses.
CAN demons take corpses? Ruby had to take a comatose girl. Meg had to stop using that poor blonde chick after they exorcised her and the girl died afterwards.
I think demons can take any living body while Angels require an invitation by an occupying soul.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youSeveral times last couple of seasons Crowley has left his body (which then acts completely... dead) and then returns to it.
Episode 3.01 - Issac the hunter dies on screen and then appears in a later scene, possessed by a demon.
Episode 4.07 - Don the teacher is killed, then possessed later by Samhain (who was risen by the death)
And that's just off the top of my head.
Considering that Castiel was able to give Lucifer permission to enter his body, I guess in his specific case the body truly is HIS now.
Samhain is an unusual case, though. He's not a typical Supernat demon. The whole "masks" thing comes to mind.
Heck, neither is Crowley. I suppose we did see him flee his corpse after someone bested him and was about to kill him in one of the recent seasons. Can't remember what episode. Said killer proceeded to attack Crowley's empty corpse and later we see him again, in same corpse.
Special privileges for the King of Hell, I suppose...
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youCrowley was attacked by Cas at the end of S10, and returned to his mutilated (still corpse) body at beginning of S11.
That still leaves episode 3.01.
And...
Episode 2.22 - Azazel is removed from his body. It collapses (as in - dead) and he then goes and repossess it after knocking free John Winchester.
Episode 6.07 - One of the Campbells is killed, then reappears later possessed by a demon.
Oh yeah, and in 11.18 when Crowley leaves his (dead) body and then returns, it's after he's been usurped as the King of Hell by a released Lucifer.
Well, we were told Jimmy was in heaven now, and then we were shown Jimmy is in heaven.
But they couldn't do the same for Adam.
No, I'm not going to let that go. That poor kid!
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youHonestly, if Michael is bad off so badly, I don't want to know how Adam felt.
I'm not letting it go either! Especially since the writers could have easily revealed that when Michael said in Swan Song, "Adam's not home right now" that his soul had been returned to Heaven and Mike was the sole occupant. So then it's just the body in the cage.
But nooooo.....
So, after years of not properly catching this, I came across the most recent season finale.
Glad to see somebody noticed the fuck up brothers are fuck ups, but after managing to actually save the world (from another problem they caused) without making things worse for a change, I admit, it seems a little...
unfair.
Oh well. They deserve it. Too bad random British lady missed Dean. He deserves it just as much (maybe more) then Sam.
One Strip! One Strip!I'm actually quite excited for this next season! I've not felt that about Supernatural for years.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youWell, I just caught up, but the end of season 11 was really good...partly because they took a step back from "releasing the bigger threat to stop the smaller one". I guess so the one thing I really want Supernatural to do is something they will never do, and that is showing a world which actually changes after everything which happened. One in which people actually believe in the Winchester Gospel and there is a church of the trenchcoat got somewhere....
That would firmly put Supernatural in an AU setting.
Which I would be fine with, but tradition seems to be "our world, with a dark secret"
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youI know, but that would actually be a more interesting route. The show insistence to go back to the status quo as often as possible has hurt it in the last season, while new additions, like the bunker, have been very welcome.
Plus, at this point it is kind of unbelievable that nobody notices the sh... they have been up to.

Hah, THAT's been unbelievable ever since Season 5.
"Your apocalypse came and went, and you didn't even notice" indeed.

Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Robert Singer talk when they want the series to end.
They want to end the series at 300 episodes which would put it in the 13th episode of Season 14.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre Adventure
