[up][up][up][up]Don't worry, next season the DARKNESS will take a conveniently stabbable human form, as one does.

Currently binging season 10, as I haven't seen any of it while it was airing. Didn't care enough to, and had other things going on.

I've just finished episode 4. Of all the things in the season so far, the main things that bother me are related to that one guy who was hunting Dean:

  • There's not a shot in hell he's 24. Not just because he looks clearly older than 24 (and I'd know, I'm 25 and am constantly around my age mates), but he has a stable marriage, a house, and a decently aged, responsible child, after service in the military? MY ASS.
  • If he has spent 11 years hunting to kill Dean Winchester, he should have already known about monsters. Surely someone he came across may have been familiar with how or why his father was killed.
  • How did it take him 11 years to track down Dean? Dean, who has been tracked repeatedly over the years, who has been one of America's most wanted individuals back with the Skin dude and Agent Victor Henriksen, who has been all over the country plus Ireland, who has kept a rare car as his main/sole method of transportation for over a decade, and well past its origin date? I could go on here.

I've gotta say, this plot and character seem idiotic. I expect some I Lied situation, except that would be even dumber.

11 Years ago he was 13... High school romance, maybe?

[up][up]That probably won't stay your largest complaint about season 10. Personally, I thought it was another well intentioned screw up on Carver's part in trying to address something the show hadn't really touched on (that these two must leave quite a mess in all their hunting), but it could have been done better. For example, Amy Pond's kid is still floating around somewhere, they could have used him as an example of the consequences of the boys' hunting instead of making a whole new character. Then again, he's not all that old yet, but it's still a thread I hate to see left hanging.

[up]It's also something from Sera Gamble's years and there seems to be a pattern where Carver will outright trample all over Gamble's canon while at least acknowledging or putting in some effort to obey Kripke's canon.

How did it take him 11 years to track down Dean? Dean, who has been tracked repeatedly over the years, who has been one of America's most wanted individuals back with the Skin dude and Agent Victor Henriksen, who has been all over the country plus Ireland, who has kept a rare car as his main/sole method of transportation for over a decade, and well past its origin date? I could go on here.

Well to be fair, Dean's been "officially dead" several times during those years, so maybe Cole kept putting his quest on hold until the 2nd or 3rd time and he's like, "Ok, I'm going to go make sure I see the body this time."

Speaking of the Gamble era, is there any case that can be thought of where canon was outright defied during her time in charge? I can't think of any off the top of my head, and I'd like to say she was at least better about it than Carver, but I could be forgetting something.

1-5 was Kripke, 6 and 7 were Gamble, the rest is Carver.

I recently did a rewatch of S6 & 7 (search on my blog for "gamble years") and everything held together real well save for 2 death-related episodes in S6.

Indeed that's one thing I praised Sera for over Carver is that she was able to add things to canon perfectly without disrupting the original (i.e. Purgatory is entirely logical and makes sense when you consider the SPN universe up to that point), whereas Carver's successfully pulled that off... about once.

Hi guys. Recently i heard that season 9 and 10 weren rather good ones. I stopped watching the series after season 7, but it more or less was already dead for me after season 5. So now iΒ΄m wondering if it would be worth it to start again, or if the show still is similiar to the season 6+7, and if it would be enough to read a summary of season 8 or if you have to watch it? (some people told me season 8 also wasnΒ΄t so great...)

They're meh. The latest season really didn't contribute much plot wise except for like, the last episode

In fact they spent so much time covering What Happened to the Mouse? from earlier seasons and culling auxiliary characters I thought this season was meant to be the final season.

I was actually taken by surprise when the finale ended on a Cliffhanger.

In my slow binge, "Fan Fiction" deserves its own post. I was going to say the following even before I saw the final scene.

So.

Usually the meta episodes get old. Some of them were really not that good. This one, however, was really entertaining. It brought back some of the monsters of the week that I missed in place of the formulaic plots, "someone else", and actually could've served as a fun And the Adventure Continues series finale.

I'll admit that I liked that episode. But I also must say, it lead to the use of that choral version of Carry On in the season finale, which for some reason pissed me off much more than it probably should have.

Ever since I've been educated on queer-baiting, I've very little patience with shows which does so.

So, I dunno... I guess I can only get up the will to go through this (Christianity-based fanfiction) if they do with Destial what Bryke did with Korrasami.

With SPN I really wonder how much is legitimate effort and how much is just fans over-analyzing things. (I like to joke: "Where would Destiel fans be if Cas had stayed in Claire's body?")

Stop seeking out offense and just savor all the ways they serve up obvious offense. Like bad writing, inconsistent characters, and continuity errors.

Destiel? Chuck no, If deΓ‘n is gay or bi is fine, but him and castiel? After him trying to make s deal with michael? Or castiel trying to become god and leting the leviathans come from purgatory? No, just no.

Are you talking to me?

It would be this.

Real script:

  • BOBBY It was Omaha. It was my fault. And he never let it go.
  • DEAN Well, he should have.
  • BOBBY You don't know what I did, Dean.
  • DEAN Doesn't matter. . . . I mean, at the end of the day, you two are family. . . . Blanket apology for all the crap that anybody's done all the way around.
  • SAM Some of us pulled a lot of crap, Dean.
  • DEAN Well, clean slate.

Immediate Thought: Wasn't grandpa Campbell family? Where's his clean slate and apology?

I've been rewatching season 4 and 5 and I don't understand why the angels plan for the apocalypse was evil. I understand that plenty of humans would die, but I just figure that the angels would bring back any humans caught in the crossfire from the dead. So I don't understand Sam's and Dean's objection and I'm surprised the angels never brought this point up at all during the two seasons.

This maybe just be me but when I see a fictional universe where Death is Cheap I just don't really care about people dying anybody in that fictional universe.

Place your past in a book burn the pages let them cook.
