General Visual Novel Appreciation Thread

^^ I'm not familiar with it, but if they are both coming from Nitroplus, I guess Chaos;Head must be similar to some extent.

Played Air Pressure. It was really well done. And the torrent for Ef went surprisingly fast.

I will play Tears To Tiara.

Anyone played it? Opinions?

Ok, I need something nice so I don't get too much horror from Umineko. Recommendations?

Bible Black has horror, in it's... special way. Chaos;Head and Saya No Uta are also pretty good for horror. Saya No Uta especially, it really creeped me out.

Kira Kira is an absolute favourite of mine. It's like KOn! and Beck except even better than either of them ever could be.

Started Kira Kira. Got through the opening movie and I already like it.

Yay! That's one series that Needs More Love. It's a pity that the routes branch off so late, though.

I also recommend that you do Chie or Kashiwara's route first and second. Kirari's is a little... different from the norm.

Huh, I was planning to do her's first. Really like her. Also, thanks for spoiling me on what the routes are T_T.

I really like the art. But seeing all the pretty pictures just amazes me even more on how Ef was RIDICULOUSLY art-intensive. I mean, I was just thinking of ways to describe it with words and I couldn't.

Yeah, I'm going off on my "Ef is awesome" rant again...

I still have yet to start Ef. Symphonic Rain is taking up my time right now.

I also really like the music in Kira Kira. The actual concert songs are awesome, and the BGM is varied and also very awesome. There's one bluesy track that plays every once in a while that I especially like.

I just started Umineko (please no spoilers), and I'm loving it so much. The characters are all so unique, and I'm absolutely in love with Maria. Reminds me a lot of me as a child, so I absolutely adore her.

I tend to take my dear sweet time when playing visual novels, so the only VN's I've finished during the summer were Sharin no Kuni, and Cross+Channel. They were both great. Plan on tackling Kira Kira after this. And I think I'll give Air Pressure a try too.

I'll try Symphonic Rain later. For anyone wondering, Ef is amazing and you should try it asap.

Woah, never actually expected Kira Kira to actually get any interest.

Luckily, the next bunch of visual novels I'm about to go through are all relatively short, except a few. I'll get to Ef soon, I think.

I honestly think that voices, while sometimes pretty awesome (Kira Kira, Ever17) add several hours onto the game. I don't like skipping them most of the time, but they make it so much longer...

Oh, and I got through the first concert of Kira Kira. Was hoping to get a better look at the guy's costume though =(.

Chie's route is just plain awesome. Within the span of several hours she was made into one of my favourite characters ever, so I'd say that about sums up how much I enjoyed it.

Sarina's route was pretty good, though around the end it was kinda boring. I wanted it to have more band-related stuff. It did show pretty well how incredibly horny Shikanosuke is, though.

Men are like that. Well, at least I am. I'm more looking forward to Kirari's route. Also, the game's named after Kirari, right? Or is there going to be a title drop somewhere?

I don't think it's explicitly named after Kirari. Which is a good thing, because I think the game made the fact that she's (unfortunately) the main girl painfully obvious.

Really? I like Kirari a lot.

And I love the little cartoony style Kirari skits that she's featured in.

I found her rather annoying. Definitely not one of the better characters. Though I did really like pretty much every other character besides her. She does have her moments, though.

Kira Kira really should get an anime. It had best follow Chie's route, though. Finish her route and you'll probably find out why she's so awesome. Or you'll just like her more, or something. Probably.

I found the scene where Shikanosuke had Sarina put on her band outfit and then have sex with him hilarious. It's like the writers went, "Damnit! Sarina needs another H-scene, what do we do!?"

Yeah, I reacted the very same way. But at the same time I was laughing hysterically, 'cause it's just done so well. Midori is kinda insane, but cute and awesome.

How do I download Kirakira? I can't find any torrent for it, at least not one that is seeded.
