Casey is god damn adorable. Just look at her:
Casey (along with Cassie from Dragon Tales) was one of my first (and biggest) fictional crushes.
I wish they'd bring her back but that'll never happen.
I wish, I wish, with all my heart, to fly with dragons in a land apart. On today's episode of Horizons...
Ludlow's a goddamn superhero. In a hawaiian (or I guess it'd be Alolan) shirt.
One Strip! One Strip! Also, Professor Willow from Pokémon GO makes his anime debut.
Now THAT is an Unexpected Character!
(I wonder if they'll lean into his Memetic Psychopath fandom characterization. XD)
The Protomen enhanced my life. Some of the other members of the Explorers have been given new dub names. Sango is now Coral (which can be as hard as a rock even if it's actually alive), Onyx is now Sidian (as in, obsidian), and Agate is now Chalce.
I can see why Sango and Onyx (which might cause confusion with Pokemon Onix) were renamed but I think they could have left Agate alone.
Macron's notesChalce comes from chalcedony.
The Protomen enhanced my life.Been watching Pokemon Horizons.
Interesting direction they’re doing with everything - the ship and the bad guys. Master Gibson seems very mysterious and threatening.
It’s gonna take some getting used to not having Ash around and the Pikachu character not being in every episode, but the new show has promise
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire. It's different in many ways, but these differences will give Horizons a unique identity from the previous series. Gibeon's sinister agenda will likely remain elusive for a long time, however long it may take to build up to him properly.
Hot take: I don't think Gibeon's goals are necessarily sinister. At least not in a world domination or restarting the universe sense like other Pokemon villains' have been. For whatever reason, he wants to find Rakua, which he refers to as being his paradise, and I don't get the vibe that he wants widespread destruction/despair/whatever from the way that he talks. When he's talking to Hamber and it's just the two of them, Gibeon always sounds exhausted/almost relieved when Hamber mentions things being set in motion or Gibeon's plans moving along etc. Particularly his "Finally, my wish will..." line — there's a definite hint of relief in his voice imo.
But beyond that I don't know why he's after what he's after. I just don't think he wants to rule the world. Who knows, though.
(& above) I don't get Agate's name change either. Coral and Sidian at least make sense, but... there's nothing wrong with Agate. Then again, I'm still annoyed that Zir and Conia became Zirc and Onia since there's no reason for that and the names are harder to say (plus it makes the Zirconia pun slightly less obvious but whatever).
I'm surprised they didn't change Gibeon's name, somehow. I mean, he is named after an ancient meteorite (whatever that implies), but it sounds kinda close to Gideon, so I figured if they were gonna change Onyx's name, they might with Gibeon's too.
At least the dub keeps the gem/mineral theme naming for the Explorers I guess. (Fwiw, Hamber is named after something called Hambergite.)
Also, Sango/Coral most likely refers to precious coral, which is used to make jewellery.
...I've done too much research on the Explorers' character names in a hopeless attempt at trying to figure out what Gibeon's deal is.

Avatar: Amethio (Pokemon Horizons)If he's into meteorites maybe he's Deoxys. :P
The Protomen enhanced my life.Honestly, I've toyed with the theory that he's a Pokemon haha. The name probably means nothing, I just find it interesting that they named the head of the villain organisation after an ancient meteorite.
Maybe we're thinking too deeply and he's really just a Clefairy
Avatar: Amethio (Pokemon Horizons)Alternatively he's actually a literal talking stone posing as a human.
"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."Or, a Spiritomb? Since that's a spirit bound to a stone?
Turns out, the original delaying of the dub episodes of Horizons was because the same day they would air in America, Captain Pikachu would be incorporated into Pokemon GO to promote the new anime, alongside Willow's cameo.

The Horizons team had an interview with Variety about the new series, and Ash is still in their thoughts.
So, is this really the end of Ash? Will we see him reappear at some point?
Gose: We’ve said farewell. Ash is still in the world. Anything is possible, I suppose. In the world of Pokémon, there’s so many possibilities.
Okiura: We hope Ash and Pikachu continue in their journey. Their journey is ongoing somewhere in the Pokémon world. It’s totally up to our fans’ imagination. For the time being, we would love to focus on the new story of the Liko and Roy. “Horizons” invites a new beginning.
The Protomen enhanced my life.No wonder The BBC didnt air it later on, their policy actually forbids such promotion.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here. That feels really flimsy. Netflix only aired the first 12 episodes and BBC is only up to ep 20 (I think?), and Professor Willow was in one extra scene in the initial airing in ep 42. It's not even in the cuts of the episode uploaded to streaming services.

I wish, I wish, with all my heart, to fly with dragons in a land apart.According to Serebii, the next arc of the anime will be called Terastal Debut, will mainly be focused on Paldea and the SV cast, and will begin on April 12th.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."Sprigatito finally gets to evolve. Both Roy and Dot are adorning the Academy uniforms, while Liko keeps get fit.
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru!A very clever joke, good one. Also interesting we are seeing Sprigatito evolve, never thought they'd let the partner of the main character evolve.

Makes sense, it’s final evolution is one of the most popular mons of this gen.
So I was curious to check out the english dub of Horizons on Netflix, but it doesn't seem to be there.
I'm Canadian for the record. Would that matter in any way?
One Strip! One Strip!
Agreed. There were those post-series specials (like this one) that TPCi couldn’t be bothered to dub, but I can only imagine if they’d done more stuff like that, showing what Ash’s friends were up to when they weren’t with him.
And yeah, I get that it’s hard to fit everyone in, but Casey probably should have been in Journeys at some point.
