How am I suppose to know it's a statue?: Living Statue

The current pic is something from Dragon Age. Yeah, I can see some rock-like things on it's chest, but all in all I can't really tell that it's a walking, living, moving statue.

Suggestion: The Colossus of Rhodes from God Of War 2, preferably damaged from the fight.

I've never played Dragon Age... Can I assume that he's a golem or earth elemental or something? Just doesn't distinctively give off a statue vibe.

Yeah, that guy really doesn't look like a statue. He's too organic. He's really more Golem territory.

Best thing would be a screenshot from the fight against the Pokey statue from Mother3. Like this, only good. It's recognizably a statue, and is recognizably involved in a battle.

Or alternately, the same statue pursuing the protagonist in The Subspace Emissary.

Dragon Quest VIII's living statue monster would be perfect for this. He has a good stone look and looks decent when moving.

^ That's actually pretty cool. I like how they can do that.

Anyways, back to my idea. Kratos vs. the Colossus of Rhodes. Here's what I pulled from google.

I think a problem is that anything sufficiently statue-looking will hard time looking like it's alive, and vice-versa.

I have a message from another time...

I actually think the Colossus of Rhodes is good for that. It's obviously a statue. And it's obviously engaged in combat and thus alive.

Here's the 3rd picture then. I don't know if it needs a caption or works better with one though.

I like 3 and 4.

[up][up]Caption: "Caught in the Shadow Of The Colossus." Perhaps too silly.

[up] I don't think it's silly, but a title drop of a second game below a caption depicting a first game? Probably not a good idea. Would be great if God Of War were named that.

Maybe 'God Of War caught in the Shadow Of The Colossus'?

Or perhaps 'Kratos had no idea that today was his day to do a crossover'.

[up]First one is a lot funnier than mine.

I guess it's all down to whether people think it's OK to reference another game in the caption.

My only gripe with that picture is that Kratos is kinda pulling focus. Is there one with the Colossus taking centre stage?

Yeah... The picture looks good at maximum size, but scaled down, you only really see Kratos. Here's number 2 instead.

You might wanna dodge that fist there, pal.

[up] Crop the sides some so that the image in the centre can be larger. It will help the statue stand out more.

Ok, I cropped the sides a bit, but I don't see that much of an improvement. I'm not very good with image editing though, so..

[up] No, crop the sides of the original and then shrink it down to 330.
