Again people, the stupid avatars are not helping at all. Take 'em off.
I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....I don't think losing a link to Fetish Fuel on the Care Bears article is any great loss, but as a general rule preventing pages for works with low ratings from even linking to relevant tropes which are a bit dodgy sounds like a harmfully restrictive pain in the neck.

Well, I think it would come down to the nature of the trope... is it something official that happened in the work? If so, then you're fine to link it.
If it's something subjective like "some fans think of this character as..." then it probably shouldn't be listed on the actual work pages anyway, as per the policy for our other subjective tropes.

Visit my contributor page to assist with the "I Like The Cheeses" project! That's what I mean. If it happens in the media then it can be in the page.
Also, at NSFW avatarsd, what is with that stuff? Haven't seen people with NSFW avatars, most borderline one would be Deboss.
Fanfic Recs orwellianretcon'd: cutlocked for committee or for Google?By NSFW, he means "Not safe for Google people to look at and not get ticked off".
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)This was just brought to my attention. I've been skimming through the thread; I'm at work, so I don't have too much time to read through the whole thing. I can do that when I get home tonight.
But I've got one question: I was going to ask about urgency, but I've skimmed enough to know the buffer's going to go down in November. Is there a general estimate of how much money we need to keep it up until a solution is found?
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Silent Reverence: They mean your avatar. When Google looks through the site to reinstate ads and finds images like that how do you think they'll react? It doesn't help.
dysfunctional human artistrySo it sounds like, the way the new wiki will be structure, the NSFW tropes will still exist and be listed in a series, but if you click on the link you'll get a "Are you sure you want to go visit this NSFW hive of scum and villainy?" screen first? If so, that doesn't sound so bad. If the whole wiki has to purged of the potentially NSFW tropes altogether, though, that could get messy.
"Thousands per month" according to an earlier post.

"And for the first time in weeks, I felt the boredom go away!"@Iverum: They'll have to learn to take them as they are: a criticism of their position. They are a big company that has engaged in pretty questionable stuff. It's not my fault if I find that stuff objectionable, nor if I am provoked to express such discontentment (sp?). Also, they should take it as a reference to free advertisement, as from such discussions they get the internets talking about them and building the brand name as an universal reference. It's called parody. It is allowed by the US Constitution, and even as I am outside the US, it is allowed to exist as part of the cultural mindset of humanity from which further culture is produced.
If you don't like the avatar, don't worry. My concerns, just as E.S.'s, are most likely temporary. I'm bound to return to my Nidoran based avatars some day.

Fanfic Recs orwellianretcon'd: cutlocked for committee or for Google?Silent Reverance: valid criticism or not, when asking someone for money, wearing a t-shirt about how much they suck isn't a good idea.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.^^ I'm not from the US, but while the first Amendment might give you freedom of speech, it doesn't mean that there's not consequences. Pissing off the people who we want to get money from is not a good consequence.
Okay, I just caught up with the whole thread. I definitely agree that the clickthrough page doesn't sound that bad at all, and I think it should fit into Google's policy just fine. (I mean, if we're not hosting Google ads on the clickthrough page, then technically nothing with google ads will directly link to anything NWFG. ..."Not Safe For Google" is a great term, by the way.)
I definitely agree with the others about NSFG avatars, it's understandable that you're upset but having an avatar like that is only going to hurt, not help. Not to mention that certain comparisons are really blowing this out of proportion.
I'm pretty low on cash currently, so I can't donate to the site, but once I get a decent amount of money I'll try to give what I can.
Current project: Cleaning up the Chrono Crusade examples one at a time. God help me.I doubt that the poor salaryman forced to check our site would take it as a personal offense, plust the forums are not their territory any more.
I vote for this exact phrase to be used when entering the forums.
Also, comparing Google to Nazis? Ugh. *facepalm*
@BBI: Well, the other images I have in cache for Google criticism include: Google sex slaves, Google and Chinese relations (with slaves as well), Google substituting the "oo" with boobs, and stuff like that. Do you want me to put one of these instead? Come on I am giving you the chance: choose one of them, and I'll try to switch to it.
I don't care that the comparison would be extremely accurate, that would be impossible. W Hat I care is that from a contextual perspective, the comparison is well-regarded.

Fanfic Recs orwellianretcon'd: cutlocked for committee or for Google? Why don't you just behave maturely and find a reasonable way to express your outrage instead?
Current project: Cleaning up the Chrono Crusade examples one at a time. God help me.No! Let's not. At least ES's avatar is merely a personal opinion (anger). He's not associating Google with illegal practises.
EDIT: Er, that was in response to SR, not the plea for sensibility.

Yeah, the Nazi comparison is... really off, and I don't think any of those other images sound any better. I'm pissed at Google too and I can totally get behind some form of protest, but there's no need to be so rude about it.

I remember, it was Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes's "Censor Lady". You could represent Google as her, that'd be a fairer comparison and would probably still get your anger across pretty well.

Might as well just move it to the shadow server.
And oh no, not another NSFW avatar.
