... I have already purchased this game, but the physical copy isn't going to arrive for awhile. If I knew how to mess with the parameters safely I could see myself purchasing the Japanese version to play now, the digital version to play for real too. I bought the first RCG twice so hey. Alas.

I don't really understand why the Japanese version released on time but the English didn't? Not that I want to be an entitled ass about it, its just a little weird.

While I don't know if it's true, some fans are speculating Wayfoward is making sure online co-op for their version of Rcg 2 is working and fixing any bugs they find.

Huh. I didn't know there's a Japanese stage play of River City Girls showing this December.

Tbh, i thought it was a Jav parody until I saw a tweet by Wayfoward which confirm it's an official stage play adaptation.

Well, after Kyuusei Sentai Wakusaver I admit I'm often suspicious something might turn out to be a JAV.

... Holy crud that costume department knows their stuff. The game's really cartoony but the characters translate to live action well. I can tell who everyone is!

I just watched the ending.

Sabuko and Ken chose the worst possible place to be flying that helicopter.

I wonder if they'll add some DLC to make Mami and Hasebe playable too. Also, the former is still in crutches from the second ending of the first game.

I hope so. I still need a proper explanation of the relationship with all 6 of them about the whole real x fake girlfriend thing.

PS:It was a surprise to see Sol Badguy and Jam Kuradoberi in the game.

US release of River City Girls 2 is today. I'm not getting it yet, but just leaving the reminder of those who didn't know.

Marian is a lot of fun to play as. I also liked that her boss music is the Double Dragon theme.

Finished the game. I really enjoyed it and thought it was even better than the first one.

No specifics, but is the ending satisfying this time? (Sorry, this has never stopped bugging me, even with the updated extra ending)

The boyfriend thing barely comes up. It's a lot more girls doing girl things than anything else.

An ending can't be more satisfying than the original.

So it's a close 2nd.

There's no twist ending this time.

I haven't figured out what button to push to switch characters mid-game. But I did find out something nice; if you pause the game, disconnect your joy-con and then immediately re-connect, it works! One of the problems with the first game was I slowly grew sick of Misako, and couldn't change to Kyoko except after dying and restarting, when she was severely underleveled anyways. But now, I can play all the characters whenever I feel like it!

But seriously, fuck that Marin fight. It's not so bad going hand to hand, but those goddamed barrels-and-acid sequences — this is not a platformer, so you're constantly missing your jumps and plunging into the acid, and I can't count the number times I'd jump in the air to avoid the barrels, only to collide with them in mid-air.

In the later stage of the fight, when she gets to throw two at once, you're basically screwed if you mess up even a little bit.

Edit; Oh. Oh, great. I beat Marin, I see her cutscene, and just when I'm about to go back to gameplay — the game freezes up. Yup, it chose just that moment to glitch out, meaning I had to shut it down and restart, so now I have to do the whole friggin' fight all over again!

There isn't one. You have to go to the safe houses to swap characters.

Ah. Well, guess I'll just continue to exploit the "choose another character every time your controller disconnects" thing.

The other unlockable character's boss fight is way better then Marian's, I gotta say. Provie's only gimmick is the easily avoidable shockwaves on the ground — other than that, it's just a good old straight up fight, which makes it much more satisfying.

The crate mini-game much later became easier when I realized my newly buff characters could just stand under the big crates before they dropped, catch them, and throw them onto the ship with no problem. One question, though — what's with the zombie crates? Are zombies a valuable resource, or something?

Finished the game, started a new game+. Gotta say, after beating the game and leveling all my characters equally, Tough mode ain't all that tough — I switched to Nightmare, and it's still not all that hard.

Question; does Riki have magic powers or something? Compared to everyone else's relatively realistic fighting skills, Riki's busting out energy balls and summoning Star Platinum to launch his Rapid-Fire Fisticuffs.

How do you post images? Because I really want to post Provie's image on her character page, but I've tried it before and it just didn't work.

Marian is playable, but she has different kinds of guns this time.

Well, it beats Double Dragon IV at least. But the pixel art feels a bit...lacking when compared to River City Girls.
