Haven't been in here in awhile, surprised no one is talking about the movie.

I wonder what the epic season finale will be. The "wintry" episode should be interesting too (i can only think of two episodes with winter, three if you count appreciation day).

So Return of the Party Horse was pretty decent. A lot funnier than the first one, and i liked getting to see PH's home planet.

I also noticed that Rigby was still gonna bring up The break-up with CJ. I honestly want a CJ focused episode this bomb week.

Not sure if we'll get CJ this week. Tommorow's episode IS a Mordecai/Margaret episode, so it might get brought up. More importantly though, we had an excellent episode tonight. I wonder how soon before CN makes a video game out of that "catch the sun" game Mordecai and Rigby went through.

Alright J.G Quintel, I'm calling you out on this. Regular Show isn't exactly going through a Seasonal Rot, but I haven't been enjoying these episodes as much as I did before Duck Anime double episode ended, and I haven't seen a total catastrophic tipping point or orange filter in what feels like years! Come on, man! sad

Like, I'm being sincere here. I'm worried that they're going to keep the show mellow like this for too long. Also they might keep it Near.

I feel like the show's slumped a bit in the last three seasons. I think part of it is that when you get right down to it, Regular Show is rather formulaic. Even a formula as weird as Regular Show's will eventually get old. I've also wondered if the problem is with the writing, or if they've just done everything they can do with these characters. Is the reason they keep revisiting Mordecai's romance woes is because they have no idea what else to do with him?

Personally, i think they need to do more with Skips and the more mystical parts of his character (his relationships with gary and the guardians, his immortality, the fists of justice, etc), but it seems like he's slipped further and further into the background. Its a shame as there's plenty of potential for new story ideas with that.

I liked Sleep Cycle more than The Return of Party Horse. The latter was pretty plain in my opinion (like a 3/5), but the former was your standard crazy awesome Regular Show, and the race course thingy was pretty damn wild.

Plus, bagpipe gun. And Skips punching the TV to subvert a cliched "here we go again" ending.

4/5, would watch again.

Let's just hope "Just friends" does not do a douche move and have Mordecai still wonder what could have been with CJ. But it's a Rigby episode, so we're good.

I just finished watching the Regular Show movie. I thought it was pretty good. Given that the show's usual thing is to have mundane activities spiraling into epic plots, I wasn't sure if a movie would feel that much different from a normal episode, but it actually did manage to feel more epic because of more dynamic storyboarding, and the characters treating the plot a little more seriously than usual. It had some nice emotional moments too.

Any word on when CN might air it? Or if they plan to?

This may seems unpopular opinion, but I'm tired of Regular Show right now. And yes I was responsible for writing the seasonal rot page section for this show because I believe the writing had declined in quality since season 5. IDK why, but the show feel platitudinous at this point. The plots in most season 7 either had a plot twist somewhere in the episode, a phoned it in premise, or a rather uncreative premise. The only episodes that felt like an old episode were The Parkie Awards, The Lunch Club, Cat Videos (somewhat), and this year's Halloween episode.

If we're on the subject of new episodes, then let me tell you my thoughts on the recent two aired episode that were suppose to air earlier: they weren't my cup of teas. Party Horse is an okay character and episode, but I wasn't feeling a return episode for him. His principal came off as a Sadist Teacher. It doesn't help that it had a cliched premise (and I'm pretty sure his girlfriend had Margaret's voice). Nevertheless, I chuckled a few times. Sleep Cycle was better, but I thought Maddie and Alex (the writers/artists for this episode) exaggerated Mordecai and Rigby's laziness. I mean, I was okay with them watching movies all night on the weekend, but when it gets to Sunday night, yeah, I didn't liked where this is heading. One, the whole wanting to stay awake for the day felt like a rehash of the season 1 episode Caffeinated Concert Tickets, which was superior. Two, as usual, not enough humor (why am I not surprised), except for the occasional laughs.

I'm not excepting too much for the rest of this show. I am ONLY looking forward to the TV movie, maybe Hello China (because it looks interesting), Chili Cook-Off (it will make me hungry if it about hotdogs), but that about does it. Season 7, to me, might be slightly better than seasons 5 and 6 in terms of writing quality, but it doesn't hold up compared to seasons 1-4. In fact, the writing does reminds me a bit of the first four seasons in a way, but it is rather desultory in my humble opinion. Because of my weary opinion of this show, I am planning to stop tuning in for new episodes, starting next month. Sorry Quintel, co, and the fans...

[up] Sure dude, no problem.

I'm still watching it because it at least hasn't been using the damn romance crap lately. But if they do another arc and screw it up, then...no wait, I'll still watch it. I can't stop watching it, and I don't care.

That episode was certainly better. Also it's good to see it end like that; it looks like it'll be better for the duo because after this episode Rigby showed the initiative to explain something. Proud of you, Rigs.

Still no total catastrophic tipping point, though. I really miss those.
