Now can we give some other characters focus this season? MM and Benson did have some feature episodes, but High 5 Ghost only got one episode, and a flashback at that, there were no real Pops-centric episodes (possibly Garage Door, but he didn't really make much of a difference in that story), and Skips might as well have not existed (we didnt even get any appearances from Gary or the Guardians of Eternal Youth). I didnt hate this season, but it seemed too focused on only Mordecai and Rigby.
The third wheel who's probably going to get thrown under the bus for this awful love triangle romance, the only question is how painful with this end up because it's already really bad.
As for Margaret, it's every contrived romance cliche in the book played out painfully right down to the 'misunderstandings', making CJ as irrational as possible, and making her character the exact female replica of Mordecai as seen from her very first centric episode who only expresses her feelings when Mordecai is with someone else for maximum drama.
Maybe because the writers have been dragging this storyline out and criticisms are usually more vocal (it happens with other shows as well). That and half the episodes bomb and the finale are focused on relationship drama, so yeah, people are going to have a problem with that. It's episode after episode of the same thing, the same misunderstandings, the same scene of CJ running out in tears, etc.

Of course people are going to talk about it when it's the plot of the latest episode. It's also the only thing Regular Show has that resembles an actual story arc. It's hard to have extended discussions about episodes that are entirely self-contained.

CJ did fit & we saw how well those two worked together. Things just complicated themselves when Margaret returned.
Admittedly though I've a bias there since I just don't see what the appeal with Margaret is.
