All I know about him thus far is that he's technically serving a sentence for murder, but for some reason, he's allowed to act as a prosecutor as he serves.

Maybe the more cases he wins the sentence is reduced. Thus he is a corrupt but tragic prosecutor for us this time around. And we end up solving the case he was convicted for in the first place....because that's how Phoenix Wright rolls.

That certainly appears to be the silhouette from the trailer. I wonder if he'll be like a Hannibal Lector-type character.

In the final case of AA 5, that new prosecutor will capture Phoenix and attempt to kill him with some kind of elaborate death trap. Apollo will then take over and face him in court. Towards the end, when Phoenix is a bout to die, Apollo will remove the bandage and reveal that his other eye has a more powerful for of Perceive that allows him to see a person's soul and know everything about that. He will then use this information to take down the prosecutor and save Phoenix.
Or he'll shoot a lazer out of his eye and vaporize the new prosecutor's entire upper torso.

No, it's really the Mangekyou Sharingan and Apollo's special power with it is the ability I described in my theory.
Now the real question is if we'll see Edgeworth, Maya, Pearl, Gumshoe, Kay, and Trucy.

Here is my list from Mostly unlikely to likely:
- Maya:unless a case happens in kurain village, her being the master and all she probably has no free time to spend with phoenix
- Pearl: More likely than maya since she isn't the master. Hopefully she will be more educated in the world by the time we see her again.
- Kay: Only likely if Edgeworth is in the game...though we may see some passing reference to her (something about the Yagatarasu) or something.
- Trucy: Since Apollo is in the game we could see her again.
- Edgeworth: Likely but not impossible he won't. He could give us the scoop on this new guy.
- Gumshoe: Maybe a secondary detective to Ema hopefully.
- Oldbag : Probably Dead

I'd like to see Brushel come back. His quirkiness grew on me and his recurring presence is much more justifiable than say Maya's.

Anyway, apparently there will be DLC costumes for the characters in this game. I wanna be mad at Capcom for giving DLC costumes for a visual novel, but they were pretty slick looking, so I kinda can't stay mad.
