Iji 2: Does It Count As Genocide If They Wiped Out Your Species First?
This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power..."And this time, it's personal."
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."Hey, nice to see interest in this game hasn't died out. It's what, four years since I last posted? In that time my old computer retired and I've been too busy with other things, so I never got round to installing Iji on my new computer — until today. Damn, it felt awesome to be playing this again. I tried out the MSPA version and had a lot of fun with the new weapons :) but Max Charge Iosa was a bit too hard for me.
Hmm, my question about whether it's possible any more to obtain version 1.4 was never answered.
Love this game so much :)
Why would you want one of the older versions? As far as I'm aware he never removed any features or broke any compatibility, he just added extra stuff (mostly pacifist stuff I think).
Your funny quote here! (Maybe)I'm surprised Ulti even mentioned wanting to add anything new at this point. It's a complete story and I don't think there's much more that could be added without feeling extraneous. I could be wrong, of course, but that's just how I see it.
As an aside, has anyone played Daniel Remar's latest game, Princess Remedy? It's available for free on Steam and it's a pretty fun shmup-esque game.

I didn't even know that was a thing. I'll check it out in a bit.
This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...Just curious. It's true that I'm unhappy about the change to the Reflector in 1.6, but it's not a big deal, I can just not use it :) and the story changes in 1.6 are really good.
I've actually done a zero-kill run without even creating it to avoid temptation. But I still killed enemies by tanking rockets near them, because nano doesn't grow on trees.
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."Just did a run where I used nothing except a shotgun and reflector. Doing a pacifist run on hard mode next.
Higher difficulties encourage fewer kills anyway. The lower point limits mean your weapons are less effective, so you're better off just running through most of the time. Ultimortal turns that up to 11: there is a time limit (only for the sectors themselves, boss fights are not timed) and your only weapon is the shotgun (you get the reflector just before the fight against Tor, just to make it possible), so you cannot kill most enemies.
Also, apart from hard mode, higher difficulty means you need less kills to max out your level (once again, Ultimortal difficulty takes the cake).
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."I'd like to see someone beat Tor using only the shotgun.
This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...It's not possible. The official game guide lists Tor as immune to armor-damaging weapons (except the CFIS and Velocithor). Hence the unmissable reflector just before that fight.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersIji: "My genocidal crusade, begins here."
And then there was silenceHonestly, I really don't see the game as making a moral point about pacifism, I think it's more making the point that War Is Hell. Refusing to kill is taking a moral stance, sure - but the fact that Iji can't heartlessly mow down hundreds of living enemies without suffering psychological consequences is even more clearly shown.
When Ansaksie considers pacifism to be a sign of strength, I'd argue that she's accidentally making the point that peace is a luxury of the strong - and to emphasize that, the pacifist route for Chapter 10 requires more firepower than any other point in the game. Even ignoring that, though, a pacifist Iji can be a pacifist because she's fast, heavily-armored and smart - she has other options than "fight or die."

I despise hypocrisy, unless of course it is my own.and also the fact that she instead reflects missiles back at all her foes and is like "oh it's not technically mine"
except when it IS technically hers...
And then there was silenceOr just standing next to them and tanking their explosions.
Or letting the aliens kill each other and cleaning up all the nano afterwards.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayThe latter is not that easy, given both sides sometimes use armor-damaging weapons, which nano heals.
You could be this ninja-vulture that hops around and picks up the nano as soon as someone dies.
I just watched this video about fighting Maximum Charge Tor on Ultimortal. I didn't realize you could reflect those giant missiles he launches at you from the background.
