Well the ugly side of the Shinigami will be in the Narita novel. The bits about Yhwach, Squad Zero and the Soul King seem to set the Hisagi story up. Narita is not afraid to show and explore the ugly side of the Shinigami like with C46, Mayuri or things like the Hollow pits. There will be more to come most definitely.
Also apparently, Ruddbon is alive at least in the novels. Wonder of other characters will be revealed as alive in the next novel.

So random question, but any idea why Ichigo never tried at least one Getsuga Tenshou against Aizen during their final battle, beyond the Saigo no Getsuga Tenshou?

I meant the normal Getsuga Tenshou; why did he never use it at all against Aizen, yet immediately decide to use the sacrificial move the moment he turned into a demonic butterfly seraphim, who was still probably weaker than him?

I know, that's what I meant. He didn't need the regular GT initially, so he didn't use it. When Aizen powered up, he become so strong to warrant using FGT to immediately end it (or try to). He could have very well made Aizen stronger if he hit him with a regular GT to any effect.

Had a Bleach-related weird dream last night. I dreamed I was a student at a snooty private college and my schedule had a class on it listed simply as "Challenge" that for some reason I could never remember if it was required or optional. So I went to ask the instructor, who turned out to be Yamamoto(!) and the class took place in the same room as the swimming pool(!?) and when I asked Yamamoto, he told me the class was optional⦠because I was the absolute worst person and student he'd ever known and he never wanted to see me in class again. Then all the other adults in the school revealed they'd all secretly hated my guts the entire time I'd been going there, and I was running away from one of the teachers who seemingly intended to do me physical harm. To get away from him I ran through the school's private aquarium(!?!?) and ended up near the school's private shops(!?!??!?)⦠where it turned out all the shopkeepers wanted me dead too for wrongs I couldn't remember committing against them. Also, one of them was a Marowak(!?!?!??!?!).

So the cycle continues. People call Bleach a ripoff of Yu Yu Hakusho and now we have this (along with all the thing called a ripoff of Dragon Ball). God times, whatever your opinion on these things being "ripoffs" is.
That's because YuYu Hakusho was completely original when it first came out.
If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.

Admittedly, I haven't read or seen all of Yu Yu Hakusho, but from what I have seen the two only seem vaguely similar.
Yusuke and Ichigo aren't even that much alike when you get down to it.
Bleach and YYH are almost nothing alike save for the heroes of both working for the Afterlife Bureaucracy.
It's a shame no Sternritter made a "So,am I your captain now?" joke.
