Hey, it just means that the whole thing is going to be the same as the sadistic dungeons.
I'm not sure that anyone could reasonably tell the difference.

[Gets Slapped]
"We learn from history that we do not learn from history."There is a new update with a great degree of Wham and a fair amount of awesome. It also has no colour since Thunt is away for a week and wanted it posted before he left.
If you prefer your whammy awesomeness coloured then I suggest waiting until mid september. If you hunger for whammy awesome more than colour then go ahead and click here.
So, observations:
Most of what we know about the axe is a lie. It's a demonic artefact intended to bring the demon lord into this world. It's nice to paladins because paladins make nice demon snacks.
Kore still counts as good, by my reckoning, for the same reason Automatism is a defence in law. Essentially he's sleepwalking under the control of demons, which makes him a victim not a perpetrator.
Big Ears just promised to make a demon lord scream for mercy, and not answer.

Guh. Buh. What? Holy ...
Dis is gettin' gooooood.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Big Ears pulling that Awesome by Analysis shit like a baws. His weapon of choice needs to be a microphone so he could drop it right there.
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!I find it a little bizarre that a, what, 3rd or 4th level paladin is somehow this realm's sacred protector. But whatever — the Goblins have demonstrated the ability to prevail in battles that ought to be way above their ECL.
What this really means, though — by far, the most important consequence of the update — is that we have to take Kore off of the Complete Monster page.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"He didn't say he was this realm's only protector, but I think he just swore an oath to protect this realm.
Well less scream for mercy and more scream in impotent rage, but still pretty badass.
Eh, details.
Well all he has to do to "win" is carry the axe back to hell. He doesn't have to actually survive in there for more than two seconds.
How he's planning to get there is a mystery though. I guess the Jade Teapot is probably capable of sending him, if it wasn't so far away from their part of the story that it would be utterly implausible. (Plus they don't know it exists).
Your funny quote here! (Maybe)I will say that that is one very informative demon.
"We learn from history that we do not learn from history."Demons of Evil alignment love to gloat and monologue.
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!I think he was trying to pile more guilt onto Ears' soul. For flavour.
I gotta say that, dramatic as this moment was, Ears figured it out implausibly quickly from too little information. It's a fascinating reveal though.
Also, this minor demon has a wonderfully fucked up design.
Maybe Big Ears had enough WIS to roll an Insight.
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!I'm sure he gets a bonus for the fact that the axe implanted the other version of its history straight into his mind.
You know what? I think this is the first time I feel like this comic is properly paying off. Good on Thunt.
I reserved CM discussion for this comic. Let's wait till Kore's plot is officially done.
I think that Demon's gunna be in serious trouble when Sacred finds out how much he gave away.

"We learn from history that we do not learn from history."I was driving cross country when I remembered a possible Chekhov's Gun in a strip from a few months ago.
Is Remove Curse an instant cure-all or does it have to be pitted against like some sort of level requirement, like you have to roll a 10 or above to cure V curse at X level and 17 or above to cure Y curse at Z level.
Cause it'd be kinda dumb if a level 5 cleric can undo a curse placed by a literal demon god.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The Pathfinder version requires you to roll 1d20 + caster level versus the curse's DC. The Goblins verse is houseruled heavily enough that Minmax can improve himself by giving up his ability to rhyme on command, so dunno how much Thunt is gonna mess with the mechanics.
At this point I'm just waiting for this plotline to be over, since "the whole world is turned into hell" is obviously not going to stick.
