It may, in the manga if you could get over the initial choppiness, he actually became rather distinct as, well, a really cool guy.

Basically, it's similar but stands on its own.

I've already noted Kyousuke's similarities to Kyon. Funnily enough, I've always thought that Kyousuke is Kyon's real name.

Chapter 5: ...Did they seriously reference Kikuko Inoue and Belldandy with the "I'm forever 17" line?

Also, the very first panel has to be a Haruhi reference.

I am forcing myself not to read the manga or the light novels so I won't be spoiled for the show.

That said, I might just forget it and read the damn things anyway.

EDIT: Or the manga anyway since the novels aren't fully translated yet oh well.

^^ Actually, there very little of the manga translated to spoil, the first episode covered roughly half of what we have so far (12 chapters, with the 18th translated and nothing between last i checked).

So basically, don't bother spoiling the next episode when it'll be subbed in a few hours.

Huh? It'll be subbed in about two days. It won't even air for another 34 hours.

How come scans skip from Chapter 10 to Chapter 18!? Where is 11-17?

Just what I was wondering. Since I broke down and decided to read the manga. (I don't think I liked it as much. I didn't quite like how it handled the stuff the first anime ep covered)

I think the raws are out, but obviously that's no use.

I'm just gonna forget about it, personally.

The manga is terrible, as expected from a light novel adaptation.

I didn't think the manga was terrible, though I do think it's a bit worse than the novel and the anime.

Somebody apparently requested that [whatever group did the chapter 18 scanlation] do a scanlation of Ore Imo chapter 18, specifically. I'm not sure why.

Wow, I was expecting that to be a liberal translation, but she really did say that.

In an anti-cool way.

I had a great time watching this. It beats the crap out of the manga adaptation!

Here's hoping that the original novel gets an oversea release.

Oh my god, Kuroneko was like a million times more awesome in the anime than in the manga. Her insult fight with Kirino was the funniest shit ever. And then when you actually saw their "shows" on the screen, that was pure genius. Kana Hanazawa totally nailed it too. It was weird recognizing her voice because she was being completely different from usual. I loved how that tiny little cosplay girl was so damn full of herself. Saori was awesome too. I'd totally chill with her all the time.

Also the OP is a total Guilty Pleasure for me. It's just so... girly J-pop to the max that I can't help but love it.

tl;dr This is so going to be my favorite show of the season.

The two main characters are brother and sister... and they really act like siblings.

I'm afraid to hope, but please keep being like that.

I'm really liking both characters and the show is surprisingly entertaining.

Hm... I should check the second episode out, from what I've heard of Kuroneko. The first episode didn't introduce much in the way of gripping conflict, but this could be interesting.

It's been fun.

There's no gripping conflict in the second episode either, if that's what you're looking for. Although it does have a "calm before the storm" feel in the ending.

There should be gripping conflict soon enough, if the manga is any indication.

Well, not so much 'gripping conflict' as 'conflict of any kind'. I mean, the first episode doesn't really have any sense that Kyousuke's and Kirino's parents will learn about The Stash anytime soon, with or without Kyousuke's helping Kirino.

It's been fun.
