Creating original material has become less of a problem apparently, but it's still something of an issue since it eats into the show's budget. I'm mentioning it partly because some of the things linkara complains about story wise happen due to being limited by the footage (by his own admission). I.e ninja storm barely having 3 rangers for very long.
Looking forward to rpm.
Yeah it's the review I've been wanting to see since he finished up he Zordon era ones.
Not all that often, especially since the end of the Zordon Era, almost all the Power Rangers have been heavily based on the plot of the Sentai. Sometime reviewed and improved upon (Timeforce), sometimes just worst (Samurai).
Heck, Super Megaforce somehow manages to both follow the sentai religiously, and NOT follow the sentai. Like, individual episodes, by and far follows the plot of individual episodes of Gokaiger (Or at least the cliffnotes version) but the metaplot barely resembles the other.

History of Power Rangers RPM is live: http://atopthefourthwall.com/history-of-power-rangers-power-rangers-rpm/
Sad he didn't make a joke about Colonel Hicks' name.
I've watched all of Lewis' Power Rangers reviews; this is the first series that has me strongly tempted to go back and check out the season myself. Honestly the serious setting impressed me less than the logical storytelling that seemed present in his description, with the forces of Corinth and Venjix both making fairly sensical moves for the most part. Throw in the self aware humor and the story of Dr. K (along with what I saw of Olivia Tennet's acting) being some of the most interesting the show's created, and I'm inclined to do an archive binge soon.

I recommend it. It is really one of the three series that competes for best season (along with In Space and Timeforce).
I do agree with him that there's really obvious divide when the show changed showrunner though.
...i'm only halfway through the first video of the overview and i have to say i'm extremely impressed. dillon seems like strong candidate for best ranger.
also ziggy is fucking hilarious.

He's no Carter Grayson, but he's up there.
I really think that Ziggy is a very good example of how to do comic relief the right way. He's charmingly pathetic.
one thing i really enjoy is that every single ranger has a defined personality and well-written, engaging backstory. it's not all just the red ranger.
i can't accurately say it without watching the series proper but...this is pretty much everything i ever wanted in a power rangers series. while the series showrunner changing might not have been for the best i get the impression the show was still adequately resolved and the first half still seems really strong.
"Weird? You drive a giant yellow teddy bear. I drive a big green fish. Look in the mirror people, we're in no position to call anything weird!"
I love Ziggy.
I knew Lewis was going to harp on the scene with the baby.
I'm surprised there's not a picture of Dillon in his prison outfit with the words "Orange Is The New Black".
He tends to avoid doing big humor bits in the review unless they are already in the series so I'd be more surprised if they were. I'm shocked he managed to sneak in a clip from some movie at all.
What movie clip did he put in? I only remember the stage version of Into the Woods with Jack saying it wasn't his fault.
Watch the review again if you must know. It's a 2 hour review I'm not rewatching it to answer a question for someone in this thread.
A scottish power ranger....glorious
" I did the right thing, didn't I? It all worked out in the end." "In the end? Nothing ends, Adrian. Nothing ever ends."As someone whose only recent experience with Power Rangers is RPM... to those of you who want to check it out, DO EET. It is indeed freaking amazing.
but HOW?what's up with western nerd media and their aping of biblical mythology in the most stereotypical and bland way possible (including the misconception that Satan and Lucifer are the same being- they aren't, it was just an idea that got popular over time, in large part due to stuff like Paradise Lost)?
I'll give Crimson some credit- at least it uses little-used apocryphal lore which makes it more interesting. The way Spawn, Darksiders and Diablo did it (with two warring factions being equally bad as well as having bullshit sci-fi technology that makes it very obvious that it's a story created by nerds for nerd, and as such doesn't feel like what actual angels and demons would be like).
Best hopr episode eva 10 out of 10 will subscribe :p
" I did the right thing, didn't I? It all worked out in the end." "In the end? Nothing ends, Adrian. Nothing ever ends."
Because pirates, especially SPACE pirates, are fucking amazing.
