Maybe it's just me, but the current picture for Knight in Shining Armor isn't working for me. It's kinda blurry, and it really doesn't offer any context beyond the guy being in shiny armor. Caption isn't helping any either.

Says it's from Yu Gi Oh if the link is to be believed, but that still doesn't offer me any real context. There a better picture we can find for that thing, or am I just thinking about it the wrong way?

I don't think it's a bad picture, but it could be more illustrative, that's true.

[up] The second seems to work best. The third could look like the captor won the battle.

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.

Drag and drop to an address bar, or tab (if your browser works that way).

Ah, that's better.

Yeah, I think the second pic works the best out of those three.

I like the second.

I'm more in favour for the 1st picture personnally.

Prefer the 2nd pic. The first looks like an abduction.

[up] To be fair, the trope name is Knight in Shining Armor, and I think most are familiar with the phrase.

Found the following picture in Nice Guys Don't Get Laid (Not a nasty book, btw) which illustrates the trope itself as well as the modern interpretation of it.

Everything can be found on the Internet... except common sense.

How about theses? They seem more heroic

Fix the image links, then we'll talk.

Edit: Never mind, I got ninja'd.

The only one of those that you can really tell what's going on is the first, and even then the emphasis is more on the dragon. Hell, the horse takes up more screen prominence than the knight.

[up]Well, in that picture he's wearing black armor, which kinda goes against the "shining" part of the trope. Maybe a picture of him traditional silver-colored armor would work better.

I like the Paladin one. It looks like it would work quite well without the Demotivator part.

Fight smart, not fair.

Dante's 3rd pic would be great, minus the demotivator (we've got a rule against those, don't we?). The paladin looks suitably angelic. Then again, helterskelter's pics do more to demonstrate the "Chivalry" aspect of the trope, and the Paladin would basically be a somewhat shinier guy to replace the current shiny guy.

I reject your requirement for a witty statement or fanboyish squealing in my signature.

I don't know, a flying angel invokes something way different than a Knight in Shining Armor, to me. It might be a good picture for The Paladin, though, which is currently pictureless.

Second pic is better than what's there now.
