This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.

Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

Apparently I've been edit banned but haven't been sent a message about why? I'd like to be able to edit again but can I also be know what not to repeat in the future?
i understand,i will work on it could i have my suspension lifted?
Not with grammar skills like that. Especially when bad grammar is what got you banned in the first place.

Would restricting myself specifically to new tropes help with these issues? Honestly, I just really needed a kick in the head that my natter was a serious bloody problem, not just something ignorable.

If you are notified of something, it is by definition a serious issue that needs to be addressed. We don't have rules just for the heck of it. Also, we don't accept promises to "just stick to new tropes" or "avoid problem articles", because their maker invariably decides not to keep them at some point down the line.
Can you understand what we mean by Conversation In The Main Page and avoid it in the future?

Only use 2-bullets if there is more than one example in a work. Never use 3-bullets unless there is more than one example in a part of a work (episode of a show). I understand.

It would be nice if I could get some consideration beyond having been here for two other bans, (and I frankly want to talk to Fighteer about the first one because of the happenings behind it). There was a problem, I've had time to think it over, and it is ridiculous to keep me banned out of some assumption that I'll never be worthwhile here.
Hearing "you're gone after three bans" over and over is tiring on my end too, you know, especially after visiting Ask The Tropers for the first time and seeing that it's filled with largely complaints about other tropers that could be settled in discussions rather than behind someone's back. "It's been two months, he's had time to bite his tongue, let's see what happens" would be a nice change.

~Silence In The Library: What's tiresome is us having to talk to you again and again about basic editing mistakes. That's why we have the rule, really. It's not out of some excessive love of formal standards; it's to save us the hassle of dealing with repeat offenders.
When someone reports an issue in Ask The Tropers, we usually try to ascertain that they've tried to deal with the person through the channels we've set up, such as the PM notification tool. If that doesn't have positive results, or if the user's editing patterns are causing significant cleanup issues, we suspend, because our first goal is to prevent harm to the wiki.
As with any community, it's not up to us to spoon-feed you the rules; it's up to you to learn them.
~Flippy: The "three strikes" rule is a guideline, not dogma. It's very simple: display acceptable grammar or you don't get to edit the wiki. This is not negotiable. Since you are apparently unable to write correct English even in a two-sentence forum post, we will not release your suspension.
You may visit this forum topic to ask for help with proofreading. Only if you are able to post correct examples without help will we consider letting you edit the wiki again.

I have been thumped twice for the same reason. I want to ask peoples opinions about meta things. One topic I want to ask is whats wrong with the site i'm asking questions about. So I can come up with ways to help make a better community. I have asked these questions about tvtropes and I have been thumped twice now for the same reason. If you can give me some good reasons why I should stop asking these kinds of questions. I will stop doing so.

It's quite simple. You are either concern trolling or a willing victim of disinformation. We have no interest in being a party to whatever it is you seem to want to talk about. If you're going to participate here, participate. That means joining in Yack Fest conversations, editing the wiki, talking about shows you like, whatever.
I'm sure there are communities on Reddit or whatever that would be only too happy to tell you all about how awful we are and why, but we aren't hurting for visitors and we aren't going to waste time justifying our existence.

I do have other ideas. I was thinking about after I'm done with asking the questions. I would start a conversation about TF 2 and Overwatch. As well as the lesser known indie games and No Mans Sky

I done screwed up. I use too many conversational tones...and, well...yeah. That was dumb. I won't do it again. I'll keep my editing to adding new tropes, and NOT adding more details to old ones.
