This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.
The Forum Rules apply here.
Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

~Akih08: You're fine. Take some time to read over How to Write an Example so we don't have to have this conversation again. I'll lift your suspension.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I dont want to be annoying, but how long will my suspension last??
Please see What to Do If You Are Suspended.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI kinda went too far with the Character thing for FBORFW, didn't I?
~Dreaded Candiru 2: I'm slightly amused that you waited a year and a half to appeal, but yes, that's exactly it. It's hard to interpret your intentions with that article as anything other than malicious.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I would really appreciate it if my suspension would stop I promise to skip my grammar and go to forums again but can I please my editing privillege back?
Your writing is barely readable. We'd be total idiots to let you edit, especially as you have never attempted to use the Help with English thread. Keep bothering us about it and we'll remove your site access entirely.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I'm sorry if my grammar is bad, but I promise to fix it. Also I promise to to forums about a trope before I add a trope to a page, so, can I please have my editing privileges back?
Welcome to bounce-ville.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"~Septimus Heap: already done.

Apparently Cloud to Butt sneaks its edits into the editing text box. I did not know that. I uninstalled it, so that won't be an issue in the future.
"I want to create an omelet that expresses the meaninglessness of existence, and instead they taste like cheese."~Achromatic Sky: Text replacement plugins are a perennial problem for us, leading to a no-mercy moderation approach because of the serious damage they can do to our articles. Thank you for removing it. I'll release your suspension now.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Then, any answer to my question?
edited 24th Nov '15 4:26:48 AM by rafi
Just found out my editing privileges were suspended without any prior warning and I have no clue as to what I have done to deserve a suspension.
Replacing the snarky caption on Jem and the Holograms after it was removed per the remarks in the previous edit reasons cited from How To Create A Works Page.
@Willbyr
That particular edit didn't cite How to Create a Work's Page in the edit and just made it seem like he was removing something without giving a reason. There was an edit that did link to How to Create a Work's Page in its edit summary but didn't remove the caption, leading me to believe that the caption didn't violate any of the rules.
It still counts as an edit war, and it's up to you to look up the rules, not the person making an edit to refer you to them. That said, we did remind that user to use edit reasons.
We're trying to spread the message around to our users that descriptions, quotes, and captions are not opportunities to take mean-spirited potshots at works and their creators

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I realize now that I have violated a How to Create a Work's Page rule and I do apologize for it. This will not happen again.
Great, thanks for being reasonable. I'll lift your suspension now.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Not exactly sure why I got suspended. I didn't get a PM, and the only thing I can think of is that I made an edit to Hanlon's Razor regarding the Conservapedia entry that was labeled "Natter," without further context. I'm fine with my edit being reverted, but I think suspension might be a bit much.

I was suspended a few days back, and for politeness' sake, I'd like to know how long will my suspension last and what can I do to regain my editing status. Please respond. Thank you
~Mr Underhill: You have been nattering on a number of articles, and have not corrected the problem despite several messages informing you of it. Wiki articles are not for conversations; you do not need to justify or elaborate or comment on examples. If something is wrong, fix it. If something needs elaboration, expand it. If you want to talk about an example, that's what the Discussion pages are for.
~Master Hero: Suspensions don't undo themselves; you have to come here to discuss what happened. In your case, you were adding Pantheon links in the main wiki. That's not allowed; Pantheons are a Just for Fun exercise that we do not want contaminating the real articles. They are enough of a mess to deal with as it is.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I never intended to cause any harm. If Pantheon links are indeed that much trouble, I will refrain from adding them to the real articles.
It's not an issue of them being "trouble", but rather that we don't want to give anyone the impression that they are legitimate examples of anything, much as Self-Demonstrating articles should not be linked in place of normal ones. Anyway, I'll release your suspension.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"
I guess the jury is still out on me, huh? I can only beg for a pardon and give my sincerest apology and reassurance that I will be far more discrete in my editing. I understand that in the troping universe as well as in the legal world that ignorance is not a defense.
