This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.

Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

Hello everyone, I'm Eugenio Scamardella 02 and I was suspended some months ago due to unvolountarly setting some edit wars on some pages, and also due to my misuse of editing. There was no intention on my part and I'm more than willing to join again this community and give my contribution to the many pages (both old and new ones). I'll pay more attention to my editing in order not to make any mistake this time. I just need not to be suspended anymore. Thank you for all your support.

Hello. I got suspended from writing on the Save A Fox thread, due to sharing one of my crazy ideas with the rest of the world. To be clear, I LOVE animals, but unfortunately it happened that I had to share with the rest of you my question "what would have happened if the cat had not escaped from the dog?", and thanks for that I got suspended from that thread. But now I know that you have to keep such questions to yourself, otherwise you can get into trouble. So I hope I will be able to talk about our foxy friends from Minnesota again.

So it's early April and…following up my appeal a couple days early, I'm not ready to be released yet. I need more time.
Even though I continued posting on many of the other threads I was already posting on—as well as continued regular editing on the site too, I haven't posted anywhere near as much as I could've or should've been to the Wiki Talk or Trope Talk threads. While I would post at or respond on "Is this an example?" from time to time, it was only occasionally. While I continued posting on IP threads too, most of the time I was doing so through the links the fellow Troper—my friend—was providing me with and I meant to make my own activity on there more of just an occasional occurrence as is too.
I've continued to avoid thumps entirely and been able to continue establishing myself in the ways I was throughout the last couple months since my appeal too. Something I was trying to do was divert more time and attention to those threads I mentioned above as well as both Trope Finder and You Know That Show as well. Between this; work and my personal life, it was hard to divert away from what I'd gotten pretty used to doing the past several months as is.
I'm diverting windows/tabs in my Safari app on my phone to be able to better focus on areas of the site that were suggested to me and that I just mentioned above too. I'm hoping that it'll help me in adjusting the trajectory of where you guys want me to be. My apologies that I didn't do better as is.
However much time you think is necessary for me to continue to work in the specific areas of the site to get where I need to be is entirely up to you guys. Looking to strike the right kind of balance with things eventually. Opened to any other suggestions as well.

So, tried to make an edit on the Dragon's Dogma II, but it told me I was suspended.
I'm assuming this has to do with me editing the Yamato Nadeshiko example on the Persona 5: The Phantom X page? I was told twice it was commented out as a ZCE, the second time being when I included a link to a video showing *why* it was not a ZCE (but it got commented out anyway until someone expanded on it; it has yet to be commented out last I checked).
To be perfectly clear, I was not trying to start an edit war. The ZCE thing is confusing.
My first time being suspended in the 15 years I've been on this site. I'm not sure what it may have been for other than not being able to correct an apparent ZCE on Holo X Break. I was busy since I got a notification about it.
I'll take care of it properly if I can have my editing privileges restored.

I got suspended on forums for double posting posts, since I have a mindset that whenever you post something, other tropers respond to it. I now learned my lesson, and I promise I will be now patient waiting for my posts to be commented upon.
Can I be un-suspended please? I have learned my lesson and will try not to make the same mistake.
So, it's been about 17 months since my indefinite PM suspension. I feel like I have had a sufficient amount of time to mature and not snipe back against other people, regardless of what they send me.

I was suspended because I talked back to a person who was being really needlessly rude to me after I posted some harmless speculation in the forums and then changed my signature into calling him a jerk. Is that right?
If that's the case, I acknowledge that it was wrong of me to do that no matter how rude he and the others on the forum were being to me. I don't use the forums very often and didn't really read the rules before going there, but that's no excuse for me to use personal attacks against someone, even if they started being nasty to me. I swear I won't do that again.

Hi, I sent a question/appeal here about days ago about when will my edit privilege be determined in which date in April because I was told it would be decided in April if I can edit again and I was checking if I can still do a Pantheon page despite my status.

I believe I have been banned from posting in forums for the videos I had posted in the Hangout Thread. I believe I had gone off topic or had been breaking the advertising rule without noticing. I was trying to share the videos, so it may be the latter, in which case I will stick to the appropriate threads in the future.
It will not happen again. I’m very embarrassed to have shown up here again. If there are other factors in my suspension, please let me know.

It seems I have been suspended for trying to edit the Daylight Horror trope page. It wasn't meant to be edited, since the whole trope's page was dusted off and used as a link page for other tropes. I apologize for my behavior and promise not to err further on. Spare me for my mistake and let me go on
Pretty sure it's because I did it quick and dirty to be able to hop from recap page to recap page; I C Ped the IMDB recaps so I could add tropes without having to watch the show to make my own recap. By the time I got a notice I couldn't remember whereall I'd done it and... didn't try to follow up.
Here on out, never again. Just let me know what else I have to do to make it right and I'm on it.

I have been suspended from the forums because I said that a particular poster was wrong. It seems a mod considers this a violation of "no personal attacks" and "changing topic to a person".
I argue that it's an attack on their arguments, and would like the relevant post to be reinstated, as it contains thread-topical content in addition to the single line found objectionable.

I have been suspended, likely for being too... negative... on the topic of AI and especially generative AI.
I would like to state that I will not be interacting with any AI-related topic for the foreseeable future (since I currently have nothing positive or constructive to say about it), and so I would like to have my suspension revoked.
In addition, I will be scheduling a visit to a local psychiatrist to keep my anger in check this Saturday. Things have been rather stressful recently — I certainly could use the help.
I sincerely apologise for any disruptions I have caused with my outbursts, and I will take this time to seek some mental help.

As stated in the site rules, importing or exporting drama can be considered grounds for a ban or suspensions.
We have received screenshots of some very unpleasant Reddit posts by "Mrexreturns" and you have been named as their author. The posts made a range of false allegations about the offline activities of certain TV Tropes moderators, engineers and other site users, all referred to by their TVT usernames.
The posts were public, but have already been deleted from Reddit due to their offensive content.
All of this goes a long way beyond merely "exporting drama" - it's making wild claims about serious and loathsome criminal activity. That sort of mudslinging can lead to harassment and other consequences for the people named, as well as damaging the reputation of the TV Tropes site as a whole.
We have a zero tolerance approach for this sort of behaviour. Whether or not you believe the claims, whether or not they were intended to be taken seriously, if you're writing that sort of thing about other users then there is no place for you on this site.
On that basis, unless you can somehow persuade us that you didn't write those posts, you are being bounced.

You people went out of your way to get me banned from editing and posting on forums because I spoke against the generic doomsday villain and laughably evil villain can be CMs rule the other day (also with the constantly trying to downvote candidates that I feel are not bad enough). And then Starcrusher used whatever excuse he could to get rid of me because he wanted to get rid of me from the forums, he did it. I have every right to do five times worse, maybe six if I could.
Obviously the accusations are fake, but you guys piss me off right there so I had to take every opportunity to since I had nothing to lose by that point.

madorosh was suspended due to comments that appeared transphobic, but initially stated that this was a misunderstanding and it was all in good faith.
Since they've now abandoned that claim, doubled-down and openly stated they are against trans people (in the EB post on the previous page, which has just been thumped), we've bounced them.
