Red Dead Redemption

I've been watching this game for the while, and it looks amazing. The graphics, the style, the characters, the physics, the gameplay...seriously, Rockstar's pulling out all the stops with this one. It's turning out to be more than simply GTA in the Wild West. May 18 (or 21, if you're in Europe or Australia) can't come soon enough. What do you guys think?

I've actually been looking at this game. Think I might go ahead and pre-order it.

Edit: Yes, I necro'd the thread. Anyone else bought the game? We could posse up in multiplayer and run Troper Gangs.

The same. It looks rather impressive. I watched all the trailers they've put out. It seems like that took GTA In The West and ran with it until it became it's own thing.

Indeed. Now it looks even better than GTAIV. I simply cannot wait. I especially like the Euphoria system. It seems more polished in this game. Awesome. :D

Yeah. The video where they showed off the weapons was pretty nice. It was interesting to see enemies actually ragdoll with the momentum of a bullet shot upon death.

I saw some videos and thought it was interesting. I like the old west, I thought the physics engine was impressive. Then I saw the trailer showcasing the free roaming multiplayer. 5 minutes later I was on the phone to place a preorder.

That is going to be awesome. I'm on 360 as well, btw.

They don't just ragdoll, they stumble about and grab the area they were shot in, just like GTAIV. I can't believe this engine hasn't been used a lot more than it has. Seriously, it was only used in Force Unleashed, GTAIV, this game and Backbreaker. It's so frickin' realistic! Euphoria has huge potential.

PS 3 and 360 only. Shame, but maybe they'll release it later on the PC like they did with GTAIV.

Yep! I can't get it now, but I will ASAP when I head to the States in a few weeks. The reviewers are loving it, so that's a good sign. ^_^

I'm enjoying it. Lots of Scenery Porn. Apparently, the 360 version is 720P while the PS 3 version is 640P.

Reminds me of that game that came out just as the current generation of consoles where rearing their heads. It's name was simply "Gun". It was really sweet, but really really REALLY short.

I'll probably be picking this one up. Even if it is wallowing in Real Is Brown like it's life depended on it.

Hey I remembered 'Gun'! Anyway from i what i have been hearing about this game is almost everything Gun should of been, minus the lack of Indians since this is set in the 20th century.

I still like Gun. Only problem with THAT game is the SNK Boss at the end, MacGruder.

Rockstar sent me a 360 and PS 3 version, with swag (deck of cards, t-shirt). I luv being a reviewer :D
