You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!Use the ptitle of the article. Like this: Subjectives.Ptitle2gli7wce

Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyThat up there shows how I've felt over the last few days in regard to the Subjective tropes removal. Seperate subjective pages are made of pure win.

Not many people realize, 50 Cent is half man, half cossack. - Ross NobleSay, would applying the troper tales background for pages on the subjective namespace be a good ides?
^^We always find a way to do these things. Along the way there are always people who are ready to run riot if we do so, but we eventually find a way folks can live with.
Don't know about the tan background for subjectives. We don't want people to be confused into thinking they are like Troper Tales — lots of me, me, me. A different background theme would make the point that they are a different thing from storytelling tropes, though.
Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyPale Green, maybe? Like one of these?

Test it out. I wanna know how friendly the color scheme is to my eyes.
You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!Soooo, let me get this straight:
- The Main Tv Tropes is essentially Wikipedia, but with tropes.
- The Subjective Tv Tropes is Tv Tropes with opinions.
- Darth Wiki and IJBM are for people with negative opinions.
- Sugar Wiki is for people with positive opinions.
- WMG is for people with strange opinions.
- Fetish Fuel is for people with stranger opinions.
- Troper Tales is for people applying tropes as they see fit.
- Playing With Wiki is for people categorizing tropes as the guidelines say.
- Nightmare Fuel is for people with creepy opinions.
- High Octane Nightmare Fuel is for people with creepier opinions.
So basically, everywhere is Tv Tropes but Tv Tropes.

Sure, why not?
What an asshole. Where do these guys come from out of nowhere with handles we haven't seen in seven years, bearing a definition of the site we are violating? Fuck yourself up the culo with a cucumber, "Lost Hero."

Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyTired of these pricks.
Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyYeah, guys like these give tropers with "Hero" in their name...well, a bad name.
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)"What an asshole. Where do these guys come from out of nowhere with handles we haven't seen in seven years, bearing a definition of the site we are violating? Fuck yourself up the culo with a cucumber, 'Lost Hero.'"
Our admin, ladies and gentlemen.
But seriously, calm down.
Who here is the asshole: The asshole who posts an opinion no one cares for, or the asshole who flips the fuck out when that opinion is posted? For God's sake, man, I'm some random idiot on the internet. If you don't like me, well, nothing I say will change anything anyways. I am not someone, though I am reluctent to admit. Everyone wants their voice heard, though often it does not matter. You're the chief. Do what you want. Ignore me. Go on with your changes. Just don't be a prick when someone inevitably disagrees with it.

...You get to determine what TV Tropes is all about now?
edited 3rd Oct '10 11:12:39 PM by SpellBlade
No. See above post.
I didn't mean to be an ass anyways. I just wanted to make an Ice Cream Koan.

Of all your categories, these:
- Darth Wiki and IJBM are for people with negative opinions.
- Sugar Wiki is for people with positive opinions.
- WMG is for people with strange opinions.
- Fetish Fuel is for people with stranger opinions.
- Troper Tales is for people applying tropes as they see fit.
- Playing With Wiki is for people categorizing tropes as the guidelines say.
- Nightmare Fuel is for people with creepy opinions.
- High Octane Nightmare Fuel is for people with creepier opinions.
are all in the "May or may not, but are more likely to not have anything to do with tropes at all." That means that out of your ten sections, 1 is clearly about tropes and 1 is related to tropes, but isn't about tropes, exactly.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.^^
All I see is "I want you to redefine the fundamental purpose of the site to accommodate opinions." Tvtropes is NOT about opinions, and yet we're nice enough to provide separate outlets that allow you to express them instead of just zapping them. But you people are still unhappy.

^^I acknowledge my dumbassness. I'm still a bit mad about FE's reaction, though.
^Welcome to the Unpleasable Fanbase. Like I said, my opinion doesn't likely matter, as well it probably shouldn't, given I was aiming at more of a reflection of our increasing cliqueish-ness than trying to fix anything. There's always gonna be some asshole who doesn't like whatever change is made. I'm disappointed that I fill that role this time, though.
So, The Complainer Is Always Wrong, justified?
What does you disliking change have to do with anything I said? You still get to have opinions, just not on the work pages.
edited 3rd Oct '10 11:53:09 PM by SpellBlade
Yes, but subjective tropes make up a good 50%* of all tropes, so I forsee many edit wars about what to put where, and if they're justified. In fact, I can't be sure if this'll really fix anything. Time will tell, I suppose.
- Not to scale.
edited 4th Oct '10 12:00:01 AM by LostHero
I highly doubt they even make up 10%.
This is something I expressed concern about earlier in the thread - most of the sub-pages are OK, but I don't think making a subjective namespace will stop the edit wars, since you're still making a disputable statement of quality that can be directly accessed from the main article.
edited 4th Oct '10 12:21:58 AM by SpellBlade
Exactly. People are people, so no matter what we do, something is subjective to someone. Natter happens, but there's no real way you can eliminate it entirely. I still don't really see what's wrong as-is that can really be fixed.
Perhaps we could assign mods instead?
edited 4th Oct '10 12:37:32 AM by LostHero
1. Most edit wars involve a page with the subjective banner.
2. Well, the first step is to get the natter off of work pages - the subjective sub-page at least accomplishes that, even though doesn't kill the edit wars.
edited 4th Oct '10 12:46:28 AM by SpellBlade
1. The scientist in me wants to test the banner's role in this.
2. But does taking it off the work page and slapping it on a related link really do anything?

Got it thanks.
