Oh, shit, I wish you'd put that in spoiler tags. Is it common knowledge? Which season three are we talking about? Is it the six-episode thing that Netflix thinks is a whole other show, or a "proper" season three?

Anyway, I love Wakfu. I'm delighted to see people talking about it here. I saw it once in French and I'm currently watching it again in English. My favorite character is Tristepin/Sadlygrove (what do we call him?). Fun fact: when I heard him speak in the English dub, my first thought was "Wow, I've never heard a voice that would translate so effortlessly to Banjo-Kazooie Simlish."

They're all pricks to a greater or lesser degree, but I have a soft spot for Evangelyne and her intellectual superiority complex.

But Uncle Scrooge is my favorite.

I absolutely adore Eva and Amalia.

Evangelyne is best elf. This is fact.

Yes, it happens during the OV As.

Evagrove is like a (mostly) good counterpart to Beth and Jerry.

Eva is my second favorite. Although I like her and Ruel about the same. Then comes Yugo, and Amalia is dead last. I know other characters join the cast in season two, but I'll wait until I finish the English dub to really pass judgment.

Ruel is the original Shovel Knight.

I've lost a lot of sympathy with Yugo after the OV As.I'll put it in a note for spoiler purposes I guess.

^note  Even though he ended up being right, Yugo's main reasons for being suspicious of Harebourg came from a bad place. His reasons were just well ..being racist and jealous basically. He pretty much judged the guy on the spot, because the only other Xelor he had ever met was Nox. And I agreed with Adamai that using the Eliatrope Dofus to fight Ogrest was a terrible, dumb, risky idea, even if the Face–Heel Turn went into cringey territory also.

Actually, from what I've read from people who know his lore from Dofus; Harebourg's character was handled extermely poorly in the OVA's also, but that's a whole other can of worms I'm not prepared to discuss. But the character design is really only the start of it.

I had a hard time relating with Grovy for similar cringey reasons. I couldn't really relate with his "I'm a god now and responsibility sucks" arc at all.

I do hope they are going to adress this Green-Eyed Monster side of his in season 3 without the writing concluding that he is somehow entitled to have Amalia.

I really like Remington, mostly because his (French) voice is incredibly smooth to listen at. Also because his Chronic Backstabbing Disorder is entertaining, and because his class - Rogue - is by and large the most exhilarating to play in Dofus.

Speaking of Remington that reminds me.

Ush Galesh looks like a chump in the OVA. Remington Comic Ush looks way more menacing. Anime Ush looks like a scrawny teenager. They should have at least kept his goatee-esqe beard.

It makes me sad because he's one of my favorite characters.

My favorite of the main characters is probably Evangelyne. She just gets a lot of cool moments in season 2. And I just kind of like snarky characters. I also like a lot of the villains and Grougaloragran.

Yeah, I didn't even know who it was until someone told me.

One of the biggest flaws in the OV As is how much it relied on side material (by side material I mean "anything that wasn't in the tv show"). It's one thing for a quick cameo, it's another if it's a major character for the episode. We've got the Eliatrope Dofus- that comic isn't even finished yet. We've got Remington and his story companions- how many have read his comic? And we've got characters from Dofus: The Treasures of Kerubim.

Kinda sad that the only fandom Wakfu has in English is here, most of 4chan, and some of Tumblr.

I've tried my hardest to get others to watch it.

I didn't read the comics, and I was completely lost during the OV As.

I read the comics, but it still doesn't matter because the comics aren't finished yet. It's like making Star Wars VIII, and forcing you to buy one of the tie-ins to understand why all of the main characters have been replaced with Ewoks. But guess what? The book's not out yet!

I have the Captain America comic, which features the backstories for all the main characters. Your opinions may vary as to quality, but none of it is necessary for watching the film Same with Star Wars: the expanded universe runs from decent to crap, but none of it is needed to watch the six+ films.

Basically all you need to know is:

1. Ush Galesh turned Remington's brother into a cat, and Remi has to work for him to undo the curse.
2. Eva gets pregnant and leaves the action for awhile.
3. Phaeris is killed off by a goddess of one of the months (one of the subgods to Xelor from Dofus) and she blackmails Yugo into gathering the Eliatrope Dofus or she'll kill his friends too.
4. Demigods who are sons and daughters of the gods (Ush being one of them) are rebelling against their parents because the gods have grown weak in the Wakfu era. They formed a council of evil called the Brotherhood of the Forgotten, and Lizard Lady is leading them for reasons unknown. And I think Lizard Lady appears in the Dofus MMO for some reason? I can't remember what she was doing.

Because of Lizard Lady there are lots of jokes amongst players of the MMO's about the Brotherhood of The Forgotten being a reptilian / illuminati cult.

And also some people are salty because Yugo defeating Ogrest makes the entire plot of the MMO moot.

I haven't read the comics either. Well barely I saw a bit of the beginning of the Eliatrope Dofus one, but I've mostly just seen summaries. Some of it is lore from the MMO's too. Mostly the demigod stuff.

Some more details on the schedule - with a link this time.

The third season's 13 episodes will be broadcasted over the first three weekends of september◊. 2 episodes a day every Saturday & Sunday except for the first Saturday where we'll get three.

A member of the staff added that the Netflix release meanwhile would happen at the end of October.

I expect people are going to be fansubbing it anyways.

(No matter what, I'm still checking it out on Netflix to support it, since that's all I can do to support)

You can also use a French VPN and watch it on France 4 beforehand if you don't care about subtitles.

Hey, if anyone could be a class from the game, which would it be? I would go with being an Eliotrope.

Speaking of Eliotropes... ^note it's a guy soloing one of the hardest bosses in the game with a level 58 Eliotrope. To give you an idea of the feat, This boss is supposed to be tackled by a team of four level 200 characters. Level 200 characters typically have at least 3000 HP - he has 360. He just uses his portals extremely cleverly to avoid ever being hit by the enemies.

I'd go with Osamodas.
