So, Moonfire Faire. I haven't logged in to try it yet. It good?
A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they will never sit in.All the old swimwear/yukata from last year, plus some new ones. Amusing if repetitive events you can do as much as you want, and nightly fireworks. No complaints here.
Yeah, the events themselves are a bit dull, but the items are fun. I'm assuming you can get more fireworks as rewards for playing the games, I'm tempted to do them a couple more times just to get the goodies.
Yeah, the rewards are ten fireworks each go of different types per game.
They are stupid fun to use :P Although it looks weird if, like me, you have your character's idle stance set to crossed arms with no delay, then it looks odd when they take up that pose with a sparkler in their hand.
The pinwheels are amusing to use
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.I'm going to hoarde those sparklers for potential RP use later on, as they very greatly resemble military signal flares.
With the hunts being a clusterfuck of a mess, here's hoping 2.35 fixes them greatly.
I do not think the rewards will be adjusted because if they take out the stuff that people were farming for, they'd create a massive shitstorm from people who hadn't gotten their stuff yet. Raising the seals needed for rewards would just make people farm more and I don't think weekly caps would stop zerg rushing since you'd still have people doing bursts of hunting everyday.
I have a feeling Square may actually force people to form parties for A and S marks and have said marks spawn only for parties that initiate it, similar to the monsters that spawn from treasure hunting.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order. That would actually be a really smart solution. I have long thought that it'd be nice if they were forced-spawned and maybe even duty-locked.
That would have been how I'd have done it as well, but then I'm not sure how they would differ significantly from treasure hunts.
The system's in place now. The whole thing was unplanned and shoved in because people were complaining about the lack of open world content. I was rather hoping for a hunting system similar to how it worked in FF12.
A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they will never sit in.
I think you should have to do some things to get the monster to appear, like how the S marks have those silly requirements now to get one to pop.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order. The 2.35 patch notes are up. Thoughts? I don't have an opinion either way on most of the stuff, since I'm still focused on the main story, so I was wondering how the community at large felt about it.
I've leveled 2 classes to 31 and still haven't gotten to the second Primal fight yet.
Stopping to smell the flowers on the way. And reap them.
I am fine with the changes to B marks. No longer will people zerg rush them as a thing to do while waiting for A marks. I don't like the spiritbind changes because even when killing trash level 50 mobs in certain spots, binding takes quite a long time. LV 50 mobs in dungeons are stronger than the ones in the overworld, thus they made spiritbinding faster.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order."Your character's height in relation to that of your target will now be used to determine how the emote is executed when used to interact with other targets. As of patch 2.35, the Poke, Pet, and Hand Over emotes have been affected by this change."
Man. That's dedication to your craft right there.
My Roegadyn Black Mage is as tall as a character can be. I'm going go around petting lalas.
Everyone and their chocobo will do that now
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.I'll only do that with my gf's characters, and only one (of her seven) (probably), at that.
I'm pleased with the buff to daily hunts and the un-fucking of the B ranks. Daily hunts are now worth doing again. It won't take me forever to get one set of hunt armor, and I wasn't even going to get the hat and pants.
I have been hearing that spiritbinding gear against mobs whose levels (or ilvl if it's a dungeon) are on par with that gear, it goes much faster. Any confirmation?
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order. For anything over i50, if you're not at least in CT, you don't spiritbond. I only play the materia game on crafting and gathering gear, though. Every piece I convert that's not crafting or gathering goes straight to the market board.
I like the changes. I think I'll start playing again.
A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they will never sit in.I think I'm starting to appreciate the depth of content in FFXIV now: Garuda kicked my ass for just over two hours and through three PUGs before the third finally took her down. There's obviously a decent chunk of the main story to get through, then the whole of endgame content (which is bound to be orders of magnitude more difficult than Garuda), plus all the other classes to work on. It's really something to take in.
This is my first MMO, and I'm still in the trial period, but it's been a fantastic experience so far. Cutting back on my gaming budget for a dedicated subscription suddenly seems like a wonderful idea ^_^.
Garuda just gets worse.
20's a weird spot - I personally haven't started having fun with the none Discipline of the Hand and Land (crafting and gathering classes respectively) classes until level 26-ish, but it's a decent level to see enough of the main story to whet your interest and enjoy a few of the sidequests.
It's also high enough to not lock out the Aesthetician quest or the extra dance quests, which I highly recommend.
