Pfff, there is a Roegadyn in the hotspring in Kugane wearing the tight tiny swimsuit that comments "Feels like I'm wearing nothing at all!" and a hyur gawking at him from behind the corner saying "Stupid sexy Roegadyn!"

Yep, those references are all over.
I'm also glad for the daily server reboots since queue times are REALLY short now on Balmung. The devs think the procedure is a success so now the force logout will only apply to congested worlds.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.References abound, indeed.
I myself just hit a quest titled 'All The Little Angels'
I have a message from another time...That is a fairly obscure reference :D
I've been solo farming Ifrit Hard for the rapier and I am convinced that it doesn't exist! I have however come across Ifrit's Musketoon four times now.

Isn't there a replica you can buy or have someone make?
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order. The crafted version can cost quite a bit due to the demimateria involved, but unlike the version that drops, it has a particle effect on it.
Yeah and I'm not a big fan of excessive glowing.
Don't you wanna cause perpetual Blind status to all enemies?
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order. An hour later I have every Garuda weapon except for the rapier.
I'd ask to join you if you're on Faerie.
I need to farm those weapons so I can raise my carpenter and blacksmith desynth skills.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television.Alas I am on Cactaur, and also got my prize now.
I was the same way for the Titan DRK sword. I didn't want the particle effect and the mats for it were obscenely expensive.
Finally, after me and four other friends randomly got Titan HM in a trial roulette and the DRK sword dropped (I was on the wrong character), we just threw down and farmed him for about 15m to get the sword (on the right character).
Also, we recently moved servers from Balmung and regret literally nothing. It's nice and peaceful, there's plenty of housing available, the fight for Shirogane housing won't be as intense. The MB is a bit nuts tho but we're largely self-sufficient so that's only a strain against our patience.
Also apparently there's some dick who owns like an entire ward between him and another person and is shaming incoming players for griping about the housing drying up.

Last time I tried farming the old primals for weapons (Garuda for her book) after the release of heavensward, I ended up swimming in dozens of guns and astroglobes. I assumed that they upped the drop rate of the weapons for the new jobs, so it's a little surprising to hear that it's hard to get a rapier.
I've seen several rapiers after the Trial Roulette, without even trying. I assume it's just standard unluckiness.

Was talking with my roommate about this and I can't help but think, is the narrative ultimately saying that all beastmen are ultimately inferior to human-like races? At first I wondered if maybe it was localized to just Eorzea, but even in Doma from the sounds of things the new beastmen are also living in mudhuts and praising primals.
Normally I'd just kind of let that be that since it's a pretty standard staple in fantasy, but there's far too much thought and nuance in the storytelling, and focus on the beastmen themselves, even on specific, personal levels, to write them off as just being those primitive guys in every location. Without spoilers, is there anything in Stormblood to suggest there's more to it than that?
The beastmen are pretty integrated into society in Orthard, actually. Most of them end up summoning primals, but so do the other more humanoid races (Shiva, Shinryu, Thordan, etc) so it doesn't feel like an indictment. If anything, Stormblood gave me the impression that Eorzea is just really racist. They don't even use the word "beastman" in Orthard. They just have wolf-people walking around in towns without a second thought. Some of the highest ranking and most loyal samurai of Doma are wolf people, and they trade peacefully with the turtle people, etc.
The Empire of course looks down on everyone else equally, calling both Hyur and Goblins savages.
Edit: Even in Ala Mhigo, the snake people are working with the Resistance. The overall moral of the story seems to be that Primals are summoned by desperate people, and the conditions of the "beastmen" happen to be more desperate than most, on average. Whether that be because of Imperial occupation or because of Eorzean racism.

From what I remember things between the Beastmen and City States used to be a lot better before Garlemald took over Ala Mhigo. Then the seal preventing Beast Tribes from summoning Primals was broken when Midgarsomr was "killed" and they started summoning Primals to defend themselves. Then we wound up with these huge aggressive tribes of tempered beastmen calling their aether eating gods.
The Sahagin, Ixal and Amal'jaa where just not very nice at all times though.

Having only gone far enough to see the Kojin, they're pretty normal folk. The only issues they have is that they're divided into "red" and "blue" with blue being the ones that want to hang out and be merchants while the red decided that they'd be better off working for the Empire. Neither side are really super into primals hell, Susano was an accident, and the issue comes in the fact that they really don't have anything that identifies them as being one faction or the other so a lot of weary folk who are tired of getting fucked up by the red Kojin tend to shoot at any walking turtle on sight.

Hell, the Kojin's voices sounds like an actual person instead of being a comical exaggeration of something else (the Kobold voice from Gaurda's introduction snapped me out of my suspension of disbelief).
In more frustrating news tonight, many servers are having issues and Square confirmed that they are being DDOS'd. Again.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order. Also, maybe this is a weird reaction to an NPC who isn't all that important, but (late MSQ spoilers) I came away from the solo Duty with the impression Hakuto is a huge badass and was vaguely wondering why he didn't liberate Doma himself. Just the way his attacks came together left me thinking "this guy is awesome" in a way reminiscent of Zenos. I'm hoping he shows up more later.

Just hoping that the wolfmen will have beast tribe quests, considering it doesn't seem like they have a villainous faction
same with the namazu, but at least they have a "good tribe" location

"Have a good day. Have a good week. Have a good month. Have a good year. Have a good life." ~CiviaI feel like the entry for Omega 1 is pretty low, 295 if you get lucky with accessory drops is obtainable within 2 or three experts, wonder what the Ilvl of the gear's gonna be
Well, I got my Lakshmi doggo◊ last night after only 46 clears.
Funny thing is, I wasn't farming it. I've just been helping my friends get their own accessories. Though I'm glad that's the one I got; it fits my White Mage looks. :)
