Yeah, let's not bring up the elitists here. I refuse to set foot in Zurvan Extreme again thanks to one of the jackasses there.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television.Wanna see something really fucking cool
someone is drawing 51 scenes depicting every single one of the Xaela tribes
"Have a good day. Have a good week. Have a good month. Have a good year. Have a good life." ~CiviaNot a fan of the race itself but the artwork's incredible.
We're getting 51 Au Ra tribes?! I guess this is the first time we're visiting a racial homeland - it's hard to really have a solid racial identity for any of the capital cities when all of the playable races are colonizers in Eorzea. Even if Gridania, Ul'dah, Limsa and Ishgard are flavored Elezen, Lalafell, Roeg and Elezen again, there's no racial cultural identity there.
It's been fun. We've always had 51 Xaela tribes. It's part of their cultural backstory, but with us going to Doma and Ala Mhigo it's possible we might be able to see more of them sans the Ishgardian discrimination.
Very fair, very fair. I'm actually not sure where to go to even read lore information about the races, aside from their character creation screens.
Also - yeah, as a WHM I am not really pleased about having to babysit DPS positions as well as everything else. It's bad enough that I keep getting stuck with tanks who force me to blow cooldowns on trash pulls because they can't bear to wait ten seconds for me to get mana back.
It's been fun.As a BLM you will pull me out of the fire and I won't have to interrupt my rotation. Everyone wins!
If you don't let children burn their fingers they'll never learn not to touch the stove.
Not that most DPS learn not to touch the AOE markers anyway, but.

It's been fun. When they said Tanks and Healers weren't forgotten I guess they were referring to the latter's shiny new babysitting tool.
I realize there are really only so many ways to make 'click on a person and make them not die' interesting, but I feel like the ideal use and what's actually going to happen are too different here.
Ideal use: BLM is trapped on the far side of the arena, stunned and about to eat a one-shot AOE. The WHM throws out a burst of holy magic and yanks him to safety just before the hammer falls. 'Thank you... my friend,' the BLM whispers manfully. They embrace. The Echo activates and Sephirot explodes from The Power of Friendship. Everyone gets a mount.
Actual use: BLM refuses to leave leylines even with the new mana warp. Squeezing one more Fire IV cast into Enochian is more important than not dying. Just for good measure he uses Convert just as the boss finishes casting the AOE. BLM moves to tank the floor.

It's been fun.Yeah, any time someone can blame someone else for their mistake, they likely will.
Even if they're more at fault for it, clearly the healer should have been paying more attention.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television. As Larryzaur says: Why didn't you adjust?
It's been fun.Just means I have to let people die to the stupid more often. That Rescue skill will probably have a lengthy cooldown.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.90 sec.
As for blowing cooldowns on mobs in dungeons, I've been told that (at least for tanks) mobs are what you use cooldowns for in dungeons, because the bosses don't tend to have big tankbusters that demand your cooldowns. In contrast, your cooldowns can help you survive huge pulls of trash mobs between bosses.
I have a message from another time...That's fair, but that doesn't really excuse tanks who pull like they can only feel alive if they have a third of the dungeon beating on them... when I have 1/4 mana from having to blow all my cooldowns on the last pull.
It's been fun.Normally, no, but I've seen Sohm Al bosses hit disturbingly hard, and the scorpion add can spike a tank from full to naught.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television.I don't waste my cooldowns on trash. With a 90-second timer on blood for blood, I'm not burning that shit on a pile of garbage when I can stack it with internal release, blood of the dragon, battle litany, and power surge to land a 5-digit jump on a boss.
I use my cooldowns on trash to make it go faster. They're usually ready by the time we reach the next boss.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.Blood of the dragon is the only one I'll consistently use on trash because
A) It's renewable by other means, so I can usually keep a single activation running from the start of the first trash group up until the next boss
B) People will notice if I don't use it
C) It's cool.

As a Summoner, I will Trance against trash, no question.
I have a message from another time...I'll even AOE LB trash if the tank pulls enough of them.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order. As a Summoner, I'll even Raging Strikes on the first trash pack, since it'll be back up again by the time we reach the boss (if not sooner)
As a tank (usually DoRK) I'll pop Convalescence + some def buff when I stop gathering and start killing mobs, since that's when I'm going to be taking the most damage

as a ninja and machinist, I'll use cooldowns occasionally, but aint a whole lot of use to suiton->trick attack on a trash mob.
Only CD's I use on trash are Swiftcast and Convert. Maybe Apocatastasis if I feel like the tank needs it, but that seldom happens. Way I figure, if I'm not using Firaja, then the 5% boost from Enochian isn't worth the extra upkeep, and just having it active is enough to tempt me to keep it going due to reflex.
This might change in SB, since they're apparently adjusting how Enoc works.
I quit tanking and DPS and went back to my White Mage because I'm tired of DPS rotations and having to deal with boss shenanigans, personally. Anything that streamlines that is for the better.
