So been trying to make an idea into a fic for some time. Part of it is 'Nanoha as a Disgaea Overlord'. Any suggestions for the kinds of generic units she might have a preference for?

You know, when you say Overlord you should clarify whether we're talking Overlord the anime or Overlord the video game series.

I've never heard of the Overlord game. So eh....

The story was written by Rhianna Pratchett. Yes, HIS daughter. Pretty fun, although it's not really optimized for a standard controller.

Anyway, my story idea was something I thought up a few months ago. A disgaea minion uses an overpowered Summon Everyman Hero spell and ends up summoning Nanoha and a bunch of my crossover favorites. The army of minions need an overlord because in a week the Bank is going to come and repossess the castle and sell all the minions to prinnyhood, so they needed a new overlord. They got overlords, plural, and Nanoha is one of them. She eventually becomes the Overlord of Destruction. Others include Harry Dresden, the Overlord of Arson; Kuro, the Overlord of Swords Lust; Negi, the Overlord of Genius; and Kamura Reiri, Overlord of Sloth. As usual, having trouble with the opening.

While I admit I know little of Overlord the game, I do know that Negi would surely know how to pull a fast one, so long as he can keep himself clear of Kuro.

Also, hello, newcomer to this thread.

I have stayed with one idea for a long, long time about an Interquel (between A's and Strikers) story featuring Yuuno and the Scryas, with the backdrop of their finding of their lost homeworld. It would be as much as world building as partial Internal Deconstruction of some things that are not completely explored such as Yuuno's absence, the alleged reach of the TSAB High Council or why don't we see more languages used as basis of magical systems in the setting.

The existence of the Scrya clan is an interesting setting detail, and ripe for fanfic because there are basically no canon information about them other than "they're magical Adventurer Archaeologists I guess?". Even the term "clan" is somewhat vague — it could be anything from a relatively small extended family (presumably descended from a once-larger community) to a small nation unto itself. It's pretty easy to imagine them as something like the Saint Church, but less involved in TSAB politics because they're nomadic and exist on the outskirts of Midchildian "territory" (for lack of a better word) instead of having their own holdings on Midchilda itself. "Searching for their lost homeworld" is as good of a collective motivation as any, though it's something you kind of have to be careful of, because actually making progress toward that goal has the possibility to radically change their entire society, which may or may not be something you want to tackle.
