Yeah, you're right.

Mm, bondage...
Er, sorry what we're we talking about? <_< >_>
Huh? What is Tats trying to say with this strip? He's being too subtle for me ...
"First They came for the Communists"
Uh...Tats. I hate to break it to you. But Communist societies to tend be WAY more oppressive than what you think.
By the way, Tats misspelled "domination."
Given Tats' explanatory text, can we call the new characters "Bonnie Bondage" and "Donna Domination" now?
Yeah, that's some Nazi-style eagle alright. Or Roman-style, considering how fascists liked to emulate Roman aesthetics (with the standards etc).
Though I'm guessing it's supposed to emulate Nazi Germany, as Rome is generally seen more positively?
Nice-looking standards, though. Wouldn't hate to see that design in some kind of dystopian movie.
On another note: Since when did liberty apply to the throwing of Molotovs?

Welcome to Estalia, gentlemen."Then they came for the fascists, but I didn't speak up because I wasn't a fascist, and seriously who would want to support fascism?" I think Tats is sinking even deeper into insanity, guys. Seriously, though, I'd like to send Tats and all those other people who whine about "being totally oppressed!" and send them to live in someplace like North Korea or Iraq for a month or two, show them what real oppression looks like.

I read an opinion piece that claimed a recent survey indicated that:
A mere 42% of millennials view capitalism favorably compared to 64% of those over age 65.
Astonishingly, the report shows that 32% of millennials think that more people died due to the policies of George W. Bush than those of the USSR’s Josef Stalin.
Dear Tats,
In the real world that guy with Seymour would've been sent to Guantanamo for terrorist acts. He is getting off light here.
At the very least, he would not be in a minor security cell you ding-dong.
Dear Tats,
Quit trying to shove this idea of "this FIREBOMBER deserves pity" down our throats, its getting kinda crowded with the ideas that "the computer wiz character wouldn't have harmed anyone with an exploding laptop" (seriously did he not think a homeless person wouldn't find a working laptop a tempting target to pawn off?) and the idea that "telling women to do anything to further their own self interests victim blaming"
What I don't understand: There are actual cases of people being beaten up or straight up murdered by police for absolutely no reason - and the closest thing this comic comes to trying to adress this issue is showing us a guy engaging in border-line terrorism?
Are we supposed to cheer people who try to set others aflame?
I mean, if he actually wanted to adress the issue, why not show some guy being beaten up and arrested out of the blue instead of showing us an actual crime?

Welcome to Estalia, gentlemen.Tats, why are you so obsessed with portraying America as Nazi Germany reborn? Do you really think that it's in the same league?
People aren't buying what Tats is trying to sell. Obviously he cannot be at fault, therefore his failure must be due to the evil of Amerikkka and Capitalism.

Is he... seriously invoking BDSM to portray the downfall of America to fascism?
The sex obsession really IS everywhere with this guy, isn't it?
Optimism is a duty.Actually, the word "bondage" has a lot more meanings than the sexual one, many of which preceded that sense. "Serfdom" and "debt bondage" are two of them that describe types of slavery.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.I guess people might be reminded of the sexual kind of bondage because of Sam's companions - and I somehow doubt that wasn't the author's intention; otherwise he wouldn't have put leather-clad women in the same strip as the words 'bondage' and 'domination'.

Welcome to Estalia, gentlemen.Yeah, it's a double meaning. The non-sexual bondage of the American People is being anthropomorphised as sexy-type bondage. Because that's not weird at all.
Tats is turning Sinfest into melodramatic, poorly thought out and constructed darkness and it's glorious! Only one question remains after all this. Why?
Why is America so terrible? Why is freedom dying? Why are there fascist stormtroopers dressed like policemen walking the streets?
Because the only thing Tats has shown us is that a guy that throws a Molotov cocktail gets beaten up and arrested. Why is that bad?
I have a request to make of the good people in this forum, in response to Certain Recent Events of Which We Shall Not Speak ...
Although I've been reading Sinfest for about a decade, I started reading and posting to the tvtropes forum only four months ago. As a relative newbie here, I'm sure that I will make observations and come up with theories that other people have discussed over the years. But I won't be rehashing old issues deliberately, so please bear with me — and if possible, please provide pointers to earlier discussions.
In addition, some of my theories and observations will be wrong. I ask that when I am wrong, you tell me how and why I am wrong. Believe it nor not, I will thank you for it.
I recently made an inaccurate observation, and both redmess and elfive enlightened me. And yes, I really do thank them for it.
It being worse in other places does not excuse it being a problem at home. That's a classic Logical Fallacy
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youI think that wasn't the point of the exercise. The use of "totally" implies that the speaker believes being more oppressed than that is impossible. The speaker's opponent simply wishes to provide overwhelming evidence to convince the speaker that the statement was incorrect.

I'm pretty sure that was hollow, derisive mockery, using a Valley Girl tone instead of an actual point or argument. To defend it with Exact Words like that is stretching. A lot.

Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for you-makes "jacking-off" hand motion- Grimdark as fuck!
I just like that Sam was just randomly flyin' around in his robot, minding his own business, and now, all of a sudden, he's a corporate-possessed Tyrant.
Cool it
