[up] That if the rest of the world is that incredibly pathetic, weak, stupid, and incompetent, they kind of deserved to get conquered and were going to have it happen sooner or later due to the nature of people that have power?

[up]Yeah, I'm not normally one to condone that sort of rhetoric, but there is a goddamn line.

Are we sure that they're expressing emotion here? Seems to me like they, being the logic-driven machines that they are, are trying to figure out a logical reason for one of their number looking like... that. They're just lucky that it's not enough to Logic Bomb their circuits.

i'd say the middle one looks sufficiently fed up in both this strip and his last one to consider that an emotion.

might just be the flowers tho, since they all have the same eyeshape.

You guys like nameless bot owner frog maybe bit too much tongue

I mean yeah fembot allegory falls apart because its more of robot rights question than about women's right like how comic portrays it, but guy was still a douche

[up] Guy was a douche but ya still don't unperson him. Especially since the lethe is portrayed as instant cleansing of sin and memories. Lil'E is our prime crying example.

Now let me give a example of a good hero. Wonder Woman (when her writers can be consistent) at one point in her comics she was facing off against a villain but took the beating because she had not tried something yet. Extending a hand and offering to help him get redemption.

Now that is a way to establish your hero, Wondy's entire MO is Never Kill if you Can Knock out. Never Knock out if you can subdue. Never subdue if you can extend a hand. This helps us know she is a hero.

Tatsyuda on the other hand previously had not shown the sisterhood or anyone doing any actions considered heroic or outright evil. And as much as we complained it wasn't the worst. Unnamed Fembot owner Douche however became a villain, the most competent one and then proceeded to get his ass kicked with the Triple X sisters about to kill him even though he was bleeding and unconscious.

Fuschia suggested a alternative though that many have found morally reprehensible for these "heroines". Effectively after being dipped in the lethe he was free from sin and fault. Steve had a second chance.

And then they turned him into a frog, Tats drew more lethe hitting him wiping him more thus leaving him... a frog. A frog that has been subject to a few mean jokes that I find excessive.

He wants to call them heroes, we are going to criticize that.

[up][up] Note that the one time she did break that rule (in murdering Maxwell Lord) it destroyed her in-universe reputation, to the point where even Superman and Batman questioned trusting her.

Also note the infamous TV pilot, where Wonder Woman casually torturing, killing, and otherwise breaking the law and being praised for it was one of the major reasons why the pilot was critically panned.

[up]That pilot was hilariously awful.[lol]

But yeah, I think that's the glaring issue with the entire situation. The Fembots were justified in defending themselves from the guy when he attacked and threatened them; turning him into a frog in the aftermath and abandoning him in the wild is the part that's problematic.

Here's something else that's been bugging me about this whole thing: the guy was a devil guy, but I always thought it was in the same way Slick has Devil Slick (as in, it's a split personality/possession sort of thing). I'm pretty sure that we've seen strips with this guy where he isn't a devil, implying that he's a human who developed a devil side. So...does that mean that the Fembots just did all of this to a guy who genuinely wasn't in control of himself, or was there an implication that he was 100% devil (not that that would automatically make their actions okay)?

He can't be 100% devil, unless Fuschia somehow had a de-Bomfing spell that she used to turn him back to a regular human before leaving him right beside Lethe.

[up]So, does that mean there's a chance that the Fembots just condemned a man who wasn't in his right mind due to demonic possession to becoming a frog?

Considering he was willing to sit back and let Maverick Vivisect Milton, yeah. Lil'E is dangerous if only through inaction.

And maybe the inexperienced ones are limited in what they can do... or at least, the more "advanced" applications might only be possible to them subconsciously when they are overwhelmed by a particularly strong emotion (e.g. John being overwhelmed with jealous possessiveness over his "rightful property").

So given that 'bomf' sometimes seems to be used as a synonym for 'fuck', is the implication here that fire/explosion/devilification are metaphors for things that sex can do to you... And that Tangie and Lily are, what, rape survivors?

No, of course not.

Lily was never bomfed. He's a half-devil and presumably born that way.

He was born that way. I mean, he was like that when he was a mere infant. So unless you're saying that someone bomfed him while he was still a baby...

[up][up][up]Yeah, that's just a mistaken assumption on Tange's part. They assume that everyone who looks demonic must have been normal people who were bomf'd at some point. Of course nobody would know or even expect that Lily is the Devil's own child.

Also that rape analogy falls apart a bit when we consider how bomfing affects inanimate objects, such as Criminy's books and Slick's laptop. Huh, in fact if you consider how bomfing affects humans along with how bomfing affects inanimate objects, that assassinbot should be completely devilfied, whether you consider her a sapient (NOT SENTIENT, you idiots over at the Sinfest forums) being or just a robot.

Thing is, when Steve was introduced it was with him bomfing a girl in the shadow world into a devil girl. Said girl was moved into an area that had other devil girls. It's pretty clear the implications there had bomfing as a sexual act and the girl was now "damaged goods" so to speak.
