[up]The whole bit was a homage to/pastiche of the Matrix movies, with Xanthe as Morphius and Monique as Neo. The floating code was supposed to symbolize the Patriarchy's influence.

[up]And at this point Tats has screwed up the metaphor so freaking badly that it seems more like Nique is suffering from hallucinations stemming from Paranoid Schizophrenia.

Definitely paranoia. She is in a area filled with men and instantly assumes any one of them could be a creepy stalker out to get her. I don't see how encouraging paranoia is sending a strong feminist message. Seems more like it is saying that "Just be wary of people you don't know all the time!" or even "Just don't trust anyone male,"

Seems more like encouraging women to be worried all the time about even going outside rather than encouraging them to be proud and see themselves as equal.

In fact now that I think about it, a lot of Sinfest's "Pro women" messages seem more anti-women than anything.

[up][up]I've actually noticed that a LOT amongst SJW types. They say all for equality, but they seem to picture women and other minorities as these weak individuals who must be protected and that the SJ Ws are the best to speak for them. That said, I have to admit that Tats does somewhat better in this regard. For all the many, MANY unintended faults his ladies have, most of them don't really need anyone to protect them. (The main exceptions being Absinthe, and Lady Liberty, the latter of which is pretty damning if only because she USED to be one of the strongest women in the damn comic!)

[up]It's some idiotic yet still effective form of doublethink.

Position A: Women/minorities are capable and empowered and can do what they want.

Position B: The patriarchy is keeping women/minorities down and oppressing them.

Logically only one of the two can be true, yet for SJW they both are true and false whenever it suits them best.

I like to think that society still has issues to solve. A lot of them. Both for men and women, and that we should come together because while we can be strong on our own, a group can truly change things.

Maybe I'm being charitable, but I'm of the opinion that the problems with the strip are due less to Tats being malicious than to him being overenthusiastic. I always sort of got the impression that Tats genuinely believes in the ideas he's writing about; it's just that he lets the conviction that he's right get in the way of actually making a case for them.

Here's the thing: wanting to criticize the porn industry and explain how you think it's harmful and immoral? There's nothing wrong with that. It's perfectly fine to have an opinion, I'm sure there are many valid criticisms to be made about the porn industry and its practices, and Tats has every right to try to win people over to his point of view. The problem is that, instead of providing evidence that supports his views and discussing the counterarguments that conflict with them, Tats usually just jumps to "everyone who doesn't immediately agree with what I'm saying is clueless, selfish, or evil."

Exactly. What I was referring to was his comics that still deal with social issues but not porn. Some of them don't send a good message, like the comic about how any male on the street could be a totally creepy stalker. Which to my view seems to encourage women to be more paranoid.

Honestly, Tats strikes me as someone who is still going through what I like to call "new convert syndrome."

What is new convert syndrome? Well, have you ever met anyone who has recently converted to a new religion? They tend to be VERY exuberant about it, constantly talking about their faith, how it's teachings relate to EVERYTHING in life, taking any and all critisism as a personal attack, and generally acting in ways that would get the priests of their new faith to calm down a little? It's that basically. That said, it's not strictly limited to just religion. Political thinking, fandoms, new philosophies, diets, and of course social movements among others can get people acting like this.

Tats strikes me as a particularly bad case of this, especial in the comics where Tats is essentially yelling as audience stand ins. It's probably not helped by the fact that SJ Ws are already a pretty temperamental bunch, and Tats seems to have taken his ideas from them.

And once again, Font-Of-All-Evil Devilcorp proves to be a lot more benevolent than many employers, not firing him for his earlier "mistake".

Why is she asking the fanboy if he wants to play?

Also didn't Deviltech make that game? So she is supporting the patriarchy by playing it? And if they didn't make it, awfully nice of them to allow it's software to be compatible with their game consoles.

[up]Oddly enough, these two actually seem to be friends. And I have no clue who made that game. It's definitely Sisterhood approved, but it can lead into the shadow world in front of a factory producing the things which is normally associated with Devilcorp and the Patriarchy. I can only assume Devicorp game systems allow for third party publishers.

Speaking of, the last time we saw fangirl she was stuck in said shadow world. How the hell did she get out of there!?

Edit: and now part of me is wondering if Tats is going to be commenting on Gamer Gate soon. Could be interesting actually considering that the Anti's keep claiming the whole thing started because a woman got laid. Given that the non-devil women in Sinfest are about as chaste as you can get, I can't help but think Tats' brain would snap trying to work out where to stand on the whole thing.

[up] And, being that he's a complete SJW, he'll completely screw it up.

I will note, however, that the actual issue at hand with gamer gate wasn't in regards to a chick getting laid. If anybody wants to know, you can PM me and I'll explain it in as much depth as you like.

Funny thing, anybody else notice that Fangirl didn't cut her hair to match Failnique's? Dunno why, just strikes me as odd for some reason or another.

On a completely unrelated side note, I would like to wish all of you in the united states a happy Thanksgiving, may you eat much turkey.
