Sinfest

If there's any complaint to make about Absinthe it's that she's about as passive as a character can get before becoming an inanimate object. Whenever something happens and she's involved with it, it's almost always because someone else drug her along into it. Pretty much the only thing she did of her own volition was saving the butterfly winged drones, and pulling Monique away from The Devil's vault. Beyond that, she might as well as been a Mrs. Potato head that Monique grew attached to in a fit of paranoia.

I'll agree with the argument that she's a bit passive, but I don't think that it's too annoying since she's still an overall nice person.

It annoys me because I'm used to characters with more dimensions than a sheet of cardboard.

I actually mistook her for a tree stump in this comic. In previous comics she's been mistake for: A throw pillow, a lamp stand, and a very large bag of laundry.

Blue said nice things about her? Maybe she saw Monique as the sole responsible crazy party (which is true enough) so once again, Devilcorp is possibly very reasonable.

I think the last time Blue spoke to Fushia was well before this fembot debacle, so her opinion may have changed in the interim.

Why do all the interesting things in Sinfest happen off screen? I would have liked to see why Blue would speak highly of Abby, since she's only been shown so far to be a pain in the ass to her.

And what the hell is happening in that final panel? Since when do people spontaneously orgasm when they get an unexpected compliment?

Because that would require thinking.

Blue didn't exactly lie. But it's not faint worthy now is it. Is Abby just that worried about what Blue thinks about her?

My advice to her, forget what Blue thinks and don't let Monique tell you what to do.

Also... what the hell does Monique do for a living? Does being pelted with fruit make a lot?

Abby appears to be under the impression that those comments were a good deal more complimentary than they were actually intended as.

There's probably a market for earning cash by being pelted with fruit, but I don't think Monique is in it.

Speaking of money. Devilcorp seems to make everything, including Wiis. And it fills up most if not all of the jobs. Ergo, People make money thanks to Devilcorp.

Monique seems to do slam poetry and gets hit with fruit for it... somehow she has money to pay the bills.

Which brings up another question, what the hell do the Sisterhood do? Where do they get the money to afford all that fancy tech?

Abby doesn't look like she's in orgasm. She looks like she had a Logic Bomb hit her brain with utter Mind Screw.

So the message is more something along the lines of that Blue has been giving Abby so much abuse that her mind breaks as soon as she hears something positive from her?

That's possibly even stupider.

Or rather that Blue gives off such strong vibes of being someone to whom praise is only given if you perform herculean tasks with perfect excellence, that Abby's mind BSODs at being told that she's been genuinely praised by said person, because she knows that she doesn't fit the criteria that she assumed were required for such praise.

... Or maybe Abby is just a girl with extremely low self-esteem due to a history of ridicule and putting-down prior to her promotion to the Mansion, and never had anyone give her genuine praise before.

Still, a BSOD is overkill for a situation like this.

Well, I liked it. It was a piece of lighthearted comedy. I generally don't mind that.

It wasn't bad. Too bad it's only filler.

The filler is better than the "plotlines" these days.

And that's really sad.
