Troll site.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.It's most likely a troll site, but I have met other Christians who believe yoga is of the Devil.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.I remember reading a serious quote by some guy recently, I assumed this topic was about that.
And this doesn't really have enough mileage to be a OTC even if the link wasn't satire.
DumboWow, that's pretty good. Reminds me of adequacy.org.
Linux is an Afro-Chinese conspiracy! Now there's a combo that needs more use!
[1] This facsimile operated in part by synAC.^^ OTC doesn't have to be deadly serious or earthshakingly important. Just something you want to keep on-topic.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.The non-troll person who said this was Mark Driscoll, a Seattle megachurch pastor.
@Madraguda: Huh, I did think it had to be about "important" topics. Or at least ones that can gain a lot of on-topic discussion.
(Yes, this is off-topic, I know.)
DumboBut with yoga you can stretch the hell out of your opponents!
Seriously, assuming this isn't a parody, it's just sad. And where the heck did they get the pictures? Nudists doing yoga?
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)^ Nude yoga is popular in certain areas, particularly in California. It's not a sexual thing, mind you, it's just easier to tell whether you're stretching the right muscles.
That's Feo . . . He's a disgusting, mysoginistic, paedophilic asshat who moonlights as a shitty writer—Something AwfulI'm aware some people prefer to exercise in the nude. What boggles me is them apparently being agreeable enough to let people take pictures of them while they are doing it. Your average Joe or Jane I can't see doing that, hence the nudist comment. *

This post was thumped by the Stick of Off-Topic Thumping.
Stay on topic, please.
It has actually been in the news lately, that Christians in the bible belt (where else?) where putting out this kind of sentiment. It's an Eastern religious excercise in origin, but it can be done in a secular manner. Hell, you can pray to Jesus at the same time if that's what you're into. This is definitely a case of Xenophobia.
MeTotal necro:
The really weird/interesting part is that bible thumpers (inadvertently?) affirm the reality of chakras, the kundalini, etc
One should think that this is not the case, since all non-christian religions are simply false from their point of view, so how can they produce real results?
It makes no sense at all, but it's living evidence for the fact that once you start out with irrationality, there simply is no stopping. If chakras work, then so does the ouija board, dowsing rods, and so on and so forth. And if one thing is "of the devil", then potentially everything is.
I've gotta admit, when I saw the thread title I thought it would be about someone on here practicing yoga and feeling all kinds of hurt from it. But to get back on topic, there's a crap-ton of different yogic practices, and they don't all necessitate you converting to Hinduism to use them. Hell, a daily regimen of hatha yoga would be good for a person's physical and mental discipline regardless of their religious belief/non-belief.
Somehow you know that the time is right.Troll site or fundie nutball.
I laughed when I got to the end and there was this "Paid advertisement below". It advertised VirtualGirlHD: She trips on your desktop. Of course, it links to another Jesus Saves sitebut still...
I actually had a youth pastor who thought meditation was wrong because you're closing off your mind to all but your basest self.
I actually find it offensive in the OP's link that they're using Jesus as a censor. I mean holy(literally) crap!
These people give christians a bad name, hell, a lot of nudist colonies are christian, or they at least seem to embody what I refer to as christianity; I don't have any real stats.
^ Well, at least your pastor had a reason why he thought meditation was wrong. One can discuss that reason, and form a decent opinion on it. (In fact, as someone who did and does meditate regularly, I can assure you that, while I find it extremely beneficial, there certainly are some traps involved.)
What I really don't get is the reasoning that goes along the lines of "It's non-christian, and it's somehow spiritual, therefore it has to be of the devil." I always like to ask those folks how breathing and focusing can be the work of the devil, or can somehow lead faithful christians astray.
I can't tell if this is a troll or not. Link is NSFW
here's a real bad part
