I'm honestly surprised by how well Hyrule Warriors is scoring. I thought most reviewers disliked Musou games automatically. Looks like KT did good work on this.
^Or Zelda brand.*shrugs*
To its credits Hyrule Warriors does seem a lot less repetitive than other Warriors games. But that's just my opinion based on anecdotal experience.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.Fanservice goes a long way towards making something mediocre enjoyable.
That said, it is also possible the fantasy theme of Zelda is very well suited to the gameplay, allowing for greater variety. I mean, I haven't played a Dynasty Warriors game before, but I assume that you'd never have to be dealing with fire-breathing dragons and the like in those, as opposed to different varieties of d00ds.
I played the Hyrule Warriors demo for a bit at Target today, as Link with the Fire Rod. Pretty fun.
Welcome to th:|I mean, there's mages added in and the Warriors Orochi subseries adds a few monsters, but yeah, Hyrule Warriors has much greater enemy variety, even if a lot of them are still cannon fodder.
I sure said that!hyrule warriors is a bit of a "celebration" of the series. its all fanservice, its not constrained by continuity so it allows for things we wouldnt normally get, let a huge collection of notable faces from previous games
granted, its mostly the 3d series and a little bit of Lo Z, but its still basically celebrating a very popular series in a way that has been presented as just flat out fun.
Slowly getting through Twilight Princess. The dungeons there feel bigger than the ones in SS for some reason. I'm not sure why really.
Also, still love Midna. Still the best sidekick of the series.
What now, Shadow Link? Kicked your ass, that's what!
there is no WAY i would have had the patience for this without save states. Although shadow link was easy when you realize that the winning strategy is the one tactic that hasn't worked the ENTIRE GAME: spam basic attacks and keep pushing them back. Iron Knuckles and Lizalfos would kill you if you tried that. Shadow Link will kill you if you don't. The Thunderbird was easy once i figured out that, with Reflect on as the guide told me, I could beat him by standing perfectly still through the first half of the fight, only jumping and slashing, and then only bothering to move in the second half. Even then, i eventually figured out the pattern.
w00t!
The dungeons in TP are among the longest in the whole series, even giving the likes of OOT and ALTTP a run on their money.
The only thing I don't like about most of them is the near-silent music. The ones in the other games are more upbeat in comparison.
135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300And I was vexed that their soft music was so frequently swallowed by the combat music.
Hyrule Warrior's DLC Season pack costs $20.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."Why must all of these great things come when I have no money?
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Because the universe hates you.
Also, I found a way to get the game without spending money. My bro owed me a game for helping him out a long time ago with something. I had wanted Batman Arkham Origins for the longest time, but recently I changed gears and asked him to get me Hyrule Warriors instead, so I'll have it soon hopefully.
One Strip! One Strip!Huh, Nintendo is doing Season Passes now, huh?
...Hell, I'll buy it. Nintendo has been nothing but good with their DLC so far... Except maybe New Super Mario Bros. 2 from what I've heard, but I never played that.
When is this purchaseable? I'd like to buy it today if I can, though the game isn't out until Friday over here.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! They've been doing it since Mario Golf. Heck, Mario Kart 8 had it. Plus this is really a Koei Tecmo game, not a Nintendo game. Deal isn't as good as MK8, but it's decent enough that I'll probably pick it up, assuming I like the game itself.

Altogether, it'll add 8 costumes, a new scenario, 2 new Adventure Mode maps, 2 weapons, 3 playable characters, and 2 new game modes.
Welcome to th:|Wow, that's a lot of content. Two new Adventure Mode maps? You mean taking that huge NES Zelda map and tripling it, basically?
I'm hoping that 8 additional costumes does not mean the 8 pre-order ones. Though I can't imagine it would, especially since there are already means to get those.
I'm curious about the 3 new characters. Hopefully it'll include the Groose.
Anyway, where can I purchase this season pass as a North American? Is it available now, or is it not available until the game is released next Friday?

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Won't be Groose. It's one TP character and 2 MM characters. Skull Kid will likely be one, though I won't guess for any others.
Odolwa!
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! It doesn't seem to be available on the eshop right now. It probably won't be until after the game is released.
Welcome to th:|Personally, I'd say Tingle's more likely than Skull Kid, if not both of them, and that's only because Tingle's more popular in Japan than he is in other places.
I'd get the Season Pass if I could get the game, but it'll be on the back burner for a while; there are a lot of other games I want at the moment and later this year.
Wait?
Does the Season pass include the ones that would have come with the game if you pre-ordered it?
I don't mind if they do, since I ended up not getting around to pre-ordering it due to money issues, but if it doesn't that means I miss out on some of those costumes, and if it does, then what about the people who did pre-order? Are they paying for something they might already have?
Cause that's bullshit.
One Strip! One Strip!I don't think the pre-order costumes are part of the season pass.
Welcome to th:|
Mwa ha ha!!! I like that.
One Strip! One Strip!
