Because Kinkajou told me to.
So yeah, anything about Final Fantasy! I guess this would make a good starting point: Which are your favorite games in the series and why?
My two all-time favorites are tied between Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy IX. They're both very fun games that don't take themselves too seriously while still being legitimately emotional. On top of that, Zidane is my favorite Final Fantasy lead in the entire series. He's light-hearted, fun, and a generally nice guy to be around. FFV also has the advantage of having one of, if not the best, Job System in an FF game. Both FFV and FFIX make characters customizable while keeping them all unique in their own way. I'm also very fond of Final Fantasy I; it hasn't aged well, but it's classic, and like FFV, I played it tons as a kid.
I assume we'll drift around to various other FF-related discussions as the topic grows, right?

Man, imagine being the guy trying to tell Uematsu that One-Winged Angel wasn't it.
Hitokiri in the streets, daishouri in the sheets.this is the best version
and trust me are there loads of different versions
New theme music also a boxI almost missed this but today is FFVI’s 30th anniversary!
I game I will actually get to as soon as I’m done with VII Rebirth! (I’m like at the final level and I want to actually do that or V before the XVI DLC drops)
GOH! JII! RAH!One thing I never understood are the complains about Yuna losing all her abilities after FF X. Of course she did! She's using Dressphere's now. It is an entirely different power system. Not to mention there is precedent for characters to lose power over time in FFX. Lulu anyone?
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here. Its not like she could actually summon anything anymore. Yuna having to switch methods of fighting makes complete sense.
Rikku on the other hand...
Yet another thing. Thanks!
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.Yuna should still in theory have her white magic.
#IceBearForPresidentAgain, different power system. You DID figure me out though, I think these complaints about Yuna being weak are more like "Why cant I Quick Hit/Ultima/Holy everything for 99999 damage right from the start? BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"
And who's to say the Sphere Grid didnt rely on some power that is gone by FFX 2?
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.White magic isnt exactly the best in the job the Gullwings will be doing.
Also she can just use white magic with the dressphere system, White Mage already straight up uses Yuna's weapons. Its just not her default dressphere... its thematically gotten in Besaid tho.
Thank you!!!
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.& Nah I get that. It's just weird that she can't throw out a Cure spell in any other dressphere, as well as her having to relearn most-to-all her white magic with the White Mage dressphere.
I know she semi-retired after 10 like the other party members, but considering how Spiral still has a fiend problem and Yuna did go on Gullwing adventures not long after 10 you'd think she wouldn't be that rusty.

#IceBearForPresidentThe Garmet Grid is a physical object that confers power to YRP, so maybe the Sphere Grid is also one that Yuna just doesn't have with her anymore.
The White and Black mage classes in X-2 are more bizarre as you can't even physically attack. Even Lulu used dolls as a bludgeon in X.
-Witty line-Ironically, while I USED to think this way (For some reason I didnt realize the point of each Dressphere is to be unique and the games' costumization lies in the dresspheres you use along with your Grids) I now think that defeats the purpose.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here. The non-attacking roles do actually have attack animations for the Berserk status.
Life is more fun with infinite MP.Can anyone here provide a complete save for World of Final Fantasy Maxima? I neglected to backup my own save and my drive died. All I could find rummaging through other storage was an old save at like 40% completion before the big twist. Can't really be arsed to go through all that mirage hunting again, even though the story's fun.
Life is more fun with infinite MP.Redownloaded the Final Fantasty X Collection in my Switch, intending to get back to them.. Of course, then a bunch of games came out, but its still on there... Waiting...

It took over 100 hours but I finally cleared VII Rebith. Still gonna need some time to process my thoughts but my immediate impressions are I need Part 3 yesterday, holy shit.
Also as for the soundtrack this is probably going up there in my top 10 FF OS Ts, they really went all out.
I save my thoughts on story stuff for the spoiler thread later cuz I’m sleepy but yeah, fantastic game and I hope they end it on a high note with Part 3
GOH! JII! RAH!Done with 7R2 as well, 85 hours here. Did all the side content sans the Queen's Blood challenges and the one bugged sidequest. Lots to think about with regards to the ending and I've got a few issues with the plot and pacing, but great game overall.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Congrats x2!
I still find it weird they split up Disc 1 then are apparently squishing 2 and 3 together... not that 3 had much on it anyway.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."Disc 3 was just the final dungeon and a few sidequests right?
GOH! JII! RAH!Going by playthroughs going for the mostly critical path, it's a pretty reasonable spread. One LP I was watching to get back up to speed on the events of OG 7 took 21 hours of which Midgar/Remake took up 4, Kalm to City of the Ancients (Rebirth) was 9, with 8 more till credits. Of course Rebirth does shuffle around some elements, extend several and abridge a few (Rocket Town and COTA), and part 3 is poised to diverge a lot more (at least, I hope so), so a Rebirth-sized game could easily cover it all.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Remember also that the big trek through the ice areas up to the northern crater on Disc 2 doesn't have a lot of story to it. Decent chunk of gameplay, but mostly exists to drive home the "wow, nature can be scary as hell" theme as you are approaching the part of the story when Weapons get released.
Disc 3 was the final Dungeon, sidequests, and the Weapons.
When we get them in Part 3, I hope the FFVII Remake team takes some influence from the Eikon Battles of XVI to show off the scale of them, with how gigantic a lot of them are on the OG overworld map. Ruby Weapon in Particular could be made as big as Titan Lost.

A really nice interview between Uematsu, Nojima, and Nomura about VII Rebirth’s soundtrack, as well as VII in general, just went up
