Because Kinkajou told me to.
So yeah, anything about Final Fantasy! I guess this would make a good starting point: Which are your favorite games in the series and why?
My two all-time favorites are tied between Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy IX. They're both very fun games that don't take themselves too seriously while still being legitimately emotional. On top of that, Zidane is my favorite Final Fantasy lead in the entire series. He's light-hearted, fun, and a generally nice guy to be around. FFV also has the advantage of having one of, if not the best, Job System in an FF game. Both FFV and FFIX make characters customizable while keeping them all unique in their own way. I'm also very fond of Final Fantasy I; it hasn't aged well, but it's classic, and like FFV, I played it tons as a kid.
I assume we'll drift around to various other FF-related discussions as the topic grows, right?

...was that the frozen area? Macalania? I can't seem to place that one.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!It only plays during certain cutscenes I think.
Instant joy.
Life is more fun with infinite MP.13-2's has so much variety and energy to it.
Time and space Time and space time and Space
I'd almost say these songs don't fit into the game - one moment you're on a quest to save Serah's sister from Caius, the next you're listening to a woman's voice singing in the Historia Crux to this bold, fast, orchestral sound, chimes come in out of nowhere, and then her voice goes robotic and the beat gets faster. It sounds like you're about to embark on a royal mission to some kind of desert kingdom, not fling yourself through time to whatever century.

PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyScale and Steel is pretty great.
X-2's title theme sounds so melancholy, but I can't help but like it.
Allow me to take a shot at some of the best Final Boss round songs.
I like this one.
IDK it take a bit to get going and seems to cut off right when it reaches its pump point.
It reminds me of the Extreme except it never gets out of the opening bit
I've always liked Final Fantasy 13's prelude:
Had a nice intimidating sound to it.
Your momma's so dumb she thinks oral sex means talking dirty. That, that it does.
It baffles me how a game with such a wonderful soundtrack can have gameplay that makes me want to claw my eyes out.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I don't normally like grandiose Latin wailing but this song's always been amazing.
Fighting Fate's another great one as well, yeah.
13 wasn't bad, it just needed to be way more open.
Your momma's so dumb she thinks oral sex means talking dirty.Nothing beats Almighty Bunnybells.
Big fan of "The Man with the Machine Gun"
I love the energy of it. And it's go a bit of a zany side that fits Laguna (Who should've been the main character damnit) so well

I have way too many favorite Final Fantasy songs to list, but I think the one that I find to be the most fun has got to be Feel My Blade from FF 9.
Qui odoratus est qui fecit.(3) Good song, but it only reminds me that Lightning killed her world's god. Deicide isn't new to JRPG's or even this franchise, but something about the fact that Lightning does it all by herself when the original game had a bunch of people fight against their fate just bugs me. >:(
(2) The energy from that song can't be understated.
Though I can't imagine what 8 would have been like if it had been about Laguna. The whole "Squall is dreaming about Laguna and his friends" thing was one of the driving mysteries. Wouldn't be quite as entertaining if it worked the other way around. Though Laguna probably'd be a better protagonist admittedly, or at least a better follow-up to Cloud.
Delightful orchestra. I remember losing some frustrating boss fights to this music. I haven't played this game in years and I can still tap/hum to this song. Weird.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Because of course I'd link this one.
That's an impressive accomplishment considering the only boss fight it plays in is virtually unloseable.

-blink-
Well my memory's garbage then. I thought that song played during the fight with that tree monster from the end of Disk 2 (which I later found out can be instantly killed with Life or Phoenix Downs, but 9-10 year old me didn't know about that) and the first Black Waltz in Disc 1.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Yep. It's just for the stage battle with Zidane and his Tanalus crew vs. Baku as King Leo.
Baku can do decent enough damage so I think you feasibly could lose if you do nothing or just spam SFX over and over again, but you'd have to be trying.
Besaid Island's probably one of my favorite area tracks in general. Makes the whole place feel home-y and chill.
Always been fond of this one, too.
