Because Kinkajou told me to.
So yeah, anything about Final Fantasy! I guess this would make a good starting point: Which are your favorite games in the series and why?
My two all-time favorites are tied between Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy IX. They're both very fun games that don't take themselves too seriously while still being legitimately emotional. On top of that, Zidane is my favorite Final Fantasy lead in the entire series. He's light-hearted, fun, and a generally nice guy to be around. FFV also has the advantage of having one of, if not the best, Job System in an FF game. Both FFV and FFIX make characters customizable while keeping them all unique in their own way. I'm also very fond of Final Fantasy I; it hasn't aged well, but it's classic, and like FFV, I played it tons as a kid.
I assume we'll drift around to various other FF-related discussions as the topic grows, right?

FF9 has a whole identity-and-purpose thing about it, and it's nice to see the villain fit in with that too.

Heart of StoneWOL was created by Cid at some point during the cycles; I think it was the same cycle where Shantotto managed to escape, but I don't know which one that was. Also, no Caius for XIII?
A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they will never sit in.I think his getting rid of Zidane when he was a child out of jealousy and fear of being replaced fit that a lot better though.
Barthandelus is better. Bhunivelze seems to powerful to be under Chaos's thumb though, he feels more Godly anyway.

Ironically it seems that quite a lot of these Chaos people are actually lawful characters (Gaius, Beatrix, Vayne, Celes) while quite a few of your Cosmos choices are rather chaotic (Locke, Vaan).
I suppose that to respect that, Thancred should be the Cosmos pick for XIV. Or maybe Yda.
Indeed, but this may be because while evil, he isn't petty or cruel. The biggest horrors pulled by Archadians in-universe were either before his rise (Nabudis, and we saw how the one who committed it reacted afterwards), or because The Dragon he sent was a complete psychopath (Bergan in Bur-Omisace) - I doubt Vayne's plan was to slaughter everyone, he probably wanted this cult that unknowingly worshipped the Occurias to disappear - Well-Intentioned Extremist again.
And I honestly believe him when he says that he is doing it so that Larsa can be a good leader once his work his done. He never does anything to have Larsa support what he does, on the contrary, he endorses his idealism but states that it does not belong to this time.

Cid Garlond would be a good fit to fight Gaius too if you want to explore their relationship.

Shinryu is implied to have picked some warriors that were powerful and sent them to Chaos side.
Since the whole purpose of the original conflict was to make him into the ultimate weapon.
Cloud, Terra, and Tidus on the other hand all have some loose connection with Chaos. (Memory issues, Being controlled by others to do their bidding, and daddy issues).

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Anura: It's implied that WOL was created during the first cycle.
I never played 13. I just listed the main antagonist according to a google search.
Julep: I was going more by heroes and antagonists than Law/Chaos. Based on the first two games I think the Warriors of Chaos are chaotic because they're rather disorganized. Their personal alignments don't have much influence.
XIV would have derplander as its hero, He can equip pretty much every weapon in the game and that weapon determanes his class, his EX mode would equip that class's soul crystal giving access to its unique skills.
I actually left heroes out of 14 on purpose. I wanted to keep the sides symmetrical so I left 11 at two heroes and gave 14 two villains and no heroes.
Considering there is so much left to explore out of Scions alone one of them needs to make it in.
Especially when this exists
For what it's worth, New Dissidia uses Y'shtola, and Record Keeper will use her and Thancred.
Xande's an interesting villain, though he was used best in XIV of all things. III just didn't have enough time devoted or to devote to his backstory. Especially since what was there makes Noah look like a huge asshole. Even with Doga saying he feels Xande got the best gift.
And Shinryu is terrible. I love that he does end up meeting his end in FFV.

I have a message from another time...A Warrior of Darkness should be the representative for 3, considering they were the predecessors of the Onion Knights.
That would work. I was trying to think of someone that wasn't Onion Knight. I like the idea of WOL being the only person on Cosmos's side for every cycle.
Xande was horribly screwed out of everything, and Doga's comment just makes him come off as a condescending asshole. Then again, Xande loses some sympathy points from how his plan to solve this problem of his doesn't seem to benefit him in any way.
De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.It benefits him. He won't die which is exactly what he wanted.
Maybe by a literal interpretation he will never die. But freezing time completely... I'm not sure if that counts as "living" forever.
De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.Well, he's clearly not the most sane individual given his dealings with the Cloud of Darkness.
Maybe Xande is more afraid of physically dying than being dead.
I think it's implied the Cloud was manipulating his mind at that point.
It's kind of fitting. If Noah was trying to teach him something about the value of a life well-lived, then it's abundantly clear that the lesson went unlearned. Xande is so afraid of death he'd honestly rather be frozen in time for eternity. If he doesn't die, he doesn't care what the quality of that life is.
I thought the Cloud didn't appear until after Xande caused a great imbalance by unleashing the flood of darkness that buried the world and froze time.

I have a message from another time...Yeah, Xande's motives seem to be, well, Kuja's. Cloud of Darkness was incidental to his plans.
I sure said that!Sort of. Kuja thought he already was immortal, and his reaction was to accept death... and make sure everyone else died as well.
edit:
I'd honestly really like to see Xande in a Dissidia game. He'd probably know the nature of the cycles, and try to make sure they continued.

I have a message from another time...I would personally still feel like Noah is to blame for what happens. If an Immortal is enjoying their immortal life then don't suddenly make them motal without their consent.
There's already plenty of immortals that have come up with complicated methods to kill themselves. Sometimes with the universe dying in the process.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Meanwhile Doga and Unei just... get killed. Without any such gifts.
So
I have a message from another time...
So I was bored and started thinking about the cast of a hypothetical Dissidia game focusing on the first cycle of the war. Some things I want to note. 1. The format I'm using is Cosmos Warrior/Chaos Warrior. 2. I'm trying to make the cast as different as possible from the first two games.
