Because Kinkajou told me to.
So yeah, anything about Final Fantasy! I guess this would make a good starting point: Which are your favorite games in the series and why?
My two all-time favorites are tied between Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy IX. They're both very fun games that don't take themselves too seriously while still being legitimately emotional. On top of that, Zidane is my favorite Final Fantasy lead in the entire series. He's light-hearted, fun, and a generally nice guy to be around. FFV also has the advantage of having one of, if not the best, Job System in an FF game. Both FFV and FFIX make characters customizable while keeping them all unique in their own way. I'm also very fond of Final Fantasy I; it hasn't aged well, but it's classic, and like FFV, I played it tons as a kid.
I assume we'll drift around to various other FF-related discussions as the topic grows, right?

I mostly know IV by... pretty much all the versions except DS.
So am I the only one here who beat Garuda without 4 Dragoons? I only used one Dragoon, and my entire party survived the fight.
Also, advice for FFIII. Monks and Geomancers are awesome. Also, Scholars suck, don't use them, just use Libra.
I used my powerhouse Ingus Dragoon and the rest just sat back and watched. Garuda died really fast.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerScholar's are actually quite lethal because of their Item Amplifier ability, but they are more worth it for changing right before a boss and then spamming all your attack items.
They boost the effect of the staves as well.
I sure said that!Which are like free spells because they don't vanish when used right?
Dragoons were really good in FFTA, passable in FFTA 2, and I never got to them in FFT.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.I used 4 Dragoons to kill the Garuda.

I think Dragoons were fine in FFT. dragon spirit is a good reaction ability, and the jump comes in handy every now and then.
speaking of the fft series i'm sad we haven't gotten a new one in years. i love ivalice ):
I know, right? They're really great.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.I was looking at the stat growth for the jobs in X-2 and I found something quite weird: sometimes at least one of your stats go down when you level up. http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Dark_Knight_(Final_Fantasy_X-2)#Stats
Life is more fun with infinite MP.I still think it's a misaimed fandom to praise/enjoy complete monsters, you should neither praise nor downplay their flaws. And would prefer it if we used the less black and white term antagonist, because for me There is no good or evil, just characters and their mentality. And I wasn't calling kuja tragic as much as a badly written sympathetic/tragic character due to how forced a lot of stuff about him is. Plus Kuja gets more Hype than he deserves.
And in regards to the protagonists helping out the bad guys, you left out in 9 in what is probably one of worst moments / badly written moments in final fantasy history with Garnets What an Idiot moment which took up several hours, ruined the love story a little bit, made the beginning of the game intirely pointless, and a bunch of other bad stuff, and got intire citys blown up.
Edit: Xion: I not trying to argue, I'm stating what was left out in the previous disccussion a few pages ago. Also what exactly am I wrong about?

Good to know someone's still around to dig up arguments from god knows when and still ignoring the parts where they were wrong.
Yeah, that's just weird.
FFIII DS - Refia get. She seems kinda cute.
A demo for Theatrhythm Curtain Call will be released today. It'll have...two songs: JENOVA from Advent Children and Edgar & Sabin's Theme. But apparently downloading it will also unlock characters in the full game.
Welcome to th:|Tried demo. I'm really bad at this kind of a game...
I've already done the soundtracks of the games I've played on Audiosurf.
Life is more fun with infinite MP.I got Curtain Call. And I must say, the Quest Medlies are a huge improvement over the Dark Notes from the original. And unlocking characters is much less annoying. Also, so many songs, my goodness.
Roses of May and Battle 2 from FFV are free DLC until the 30th.
Welcome to th:|Oooh, Rose of May.
I hope it has/someday gets Protecting My Devotion.
I have a message from another time...It does, under the name Something to Protect.
Welcome to th:|Huh. Well, no accounting for translation.
Dang, this game flew entirely under my radar. Getting this, then Hyrule Warriors next week, then Smash the week after that, is gonna be expensive.
I have a message from another time...For anyone who has played Final Fantasy Tactics (the original, not 1.3, not Journey of Five, not Advance, not War of the Lions, vanilla damn it):
What was your party's setup? Did you make the Unique characters rank up to their strongest class, or did you choose something more thematic: all Wizards, all Priests, all Calculators, two Wizard/three Knights? Did you stick with your original Generics or move along to Agrias/Mustadio/etc? Did you keep Boco?
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).What's particular about vanilla that that specific is necessary? (aside from Advance, which is a different game entirely)
I have a message from another time...
I heard he's awesome with Phoenix, since he's untargettable so often, has excellent defenses, and has no way of naturally using his low MP pool.
"What's out there? What's waiting for me?"
