Night and Mystery aren't much more ominous than Silence and Slaves.
I can only imagine him working with others if he realized how much his plan backfired and got an untold number of elves killed instead.
And it will all be his fault.
Slaves is pretty much the only one I'd outright call evil.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession. So if you avoid talking to Solas for most of the game, when you get to Tresspasser you get a special version of the meeting with Solas that aknowledges you don't like listening to him (Spoilers obviously).
I am highly amused by Solas's face when the inquisitor goes "Nope!"

We know.
Except he might think it's an acceptable price if it means all future generations benefit. And you have to consider how the Veil's effected the Fade and spirits as well. The Veil changed the nature of the entire world I doubt it's effects were as small as destroying the Elvhen and I doubt that restoring them is Solas' sole motivation - which I guess we already knew since he seems to be motivated by guilt and nostalgia as much as a genuine desire for change.
Seen it already and every part of it is perfect from the Quizzie's response to Solas' face to his "Whatever have fun dying." I need to do a low-approval run with him at some point.
Question: when exactly do you get the War Table operation where Sebastian tries to annex Kirkwall?
Oh God! Natural light! After completing Adamant and the Winter Palace, so long as Hawke recruited Sebastian, Anders survived DA2, and you completed the operation to ally with Starkhaven.
Ah, okay. Makes sense.
Oh God! Natural light!Always do this. Sebastian is hilariously ineffectual, even when you support him.
"For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die."Apparently, I never brought Fenris with me for Mark of the Assassin, or I would surely have remembered this.
There seemed to be a lot of wink-wink nudge-nudge going on in the DLC's. That's such an OOC thing for Fenris to say that it's pretty damn hilarious.
They do stuff like that or lampshade hanging all the time, like in Legacy how Varric and Snarky Hawke highlight Anders' "broody and misunderstood" appeal. Well, some people find it appealing, my GF for one.

It's come to my attention that Sten can't actually die in Origins. If he's in your party you can never kill him, he just leaves, even at Haven. We don't see him die in Lothering either, so it's possible someone helped him escape for example.
This means he can be massively plot relevant in the next game as the Arishok.
Correct, there isn't an actual confirmation of his death. However, I always got the impression that his adventures with The Warden and DA:Origins' events are what got him poromoted to Arishock.
My roommate just discovered a rather silly combo: Shot From the Shadows (Leaping Shot's Trespasser upgrade) or Skirmisher (Flank Attack's vanilla upgrade) puts you into stealth with no maximum duration. Knockout Powder doesn't break stealth. Rude Awakening (Knockout Powder's Trespasser upgrade) does a hefty 600% weapon damage if the target wakes up on their own...and still doesn't break stealth. Leave your clumsy, noise-making party members behind, and you should be able to solo pretty much any non-sleep-immune encounter without them ever knowing you're there. Freddy Kreuger, the Herald of Andraste!
I don't think you need perma stealth to do that as a rogue.
I'm pretty sure that stab them in the front and stab them from behind ability rogues get also gives you perma stealth (that I mostly used to start fights with a surprise shoryuken).

OH MY GOD! I SPENT HOURS TRYING TO GET IN THERE!
It's such a nice gift too. You can buy plenty of schematics with that.
So I'm running through Descent for the first time, and I'm noticing that it's very generous with its loot at times. I've gotten to Heidrun Thaig, so can I expect more amazing things as I venture further down?

Conception is sin Birth is pain Life is toil Death is inevitableNot as generous as it was before the nerf patch.
But yes, you can expect the loot to keep flowing.

Do try to leave some of the more accessible chests in The Descent for farming, as this is, AFAIK, the only place where you can farm purple accessories.
Right, thanks for the info. I'll continue my downward trek this evening with that in mind.
As an aside, that Darkspawn Emissary Alpha? Extremely annoying. Though initially it was partly because my party was using gear 8 lvs too low. Even after fixing that though, the thing still took an eternity to take down.

Personally I see Solas' role as big bad being hijacked by some threat the veil's removal could bring. Like the other Elven gods, or something to do with the Archdemons. Forcing Solas' to perhaps work with the next player in an enemy Mine scenario. Presumably in a reveal of the exact link between the Old Ones and the Elven Gods and the origin of the blight.
We still have ominously named "Dragon of Night" and "Dragon of Mystery"
I wouldn't put too much stock in Sandal's prophecy holding true - they've been willing to change alter and rework stuff before. There could very well be an ending where we stop Solas
