Didn't it get a lot of advertising and hype? I don't think it really matters that much how good the game is so long as it's okay. It'll still sell well if people are talking about it and looking forward to it.

Plus it's essentially the first big next-gen rpg. Lots of people with Xbox Ones and P S4s have been itching for an AAA rpg on their new systems.

Not really surprising, all things considered. Massively advertised - especially as a "return to form" after DAII's lackluster sales. Add that it's pretty much the only RPG on the next gen console, and that there's wasn't much in terms of big AAA RP Gs (even on P Cs) released in 2014 so it had little competition.

Apparently there's a flower crown that's a super rare drop.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."IIRC its there first fantasy RPG to launch after Skyrim, which might have introed a new market.
Eh, whats up with negativity on last page? Inquisition is better than origins in some aspects.
I would say its completely better, except I can't make a decent looking charecter unlike origins. ._.;
I still hold Origins as my favorite overall, though I like the characters in the other games better.
It might take longer because there are more customization options, but I've found I can make more interesting looking characters where I feel like my Origins creations have same face syndrome.
The problem is the lighting and grease mop hair.
I often make a charecter that looks really nice in the creator, only to take her out into the gameworld to find she looks like ass.
How is it 2015, and we still have games that give us poor lighting in the creator?
Yeah, I find the CC difficult to use as well. And the hairstyles are distinctly underwhelming.
Gone to Faerie, no forwarding address. (AO3)The CC is Inquisition is frankly disappointing. Why is there no code option like Mass Effect had to share cool portraits? Why is the lighting complete ass.
The lighting thing has almost always been an issue with Bioware game. I recall Mass Effect 2 and 3 making you design your character in almost pitch darkness. It's like Bioware can't understand why they give you the option of making your character's face. "What? you want to know what he'll look like IN the game? Why?"

It's weird, because they said they were going to make sure the CC was completely neutral, lighting wise.
Personally, lighting issues aside, Inquisition's CC is the most I've enjoyed creating a character in a Bio Ware game. There's so much variety in what you can do. Also: Amazing mustaches.

"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Its neutal to a majority of the game environments.
Just, most of the game environments are VERY dark.
Really the creator is only bad because of the lighting. Dark green is not optimum for creating characters with good complexions. Though I got off lightly compared to some people; really my only complaint is that my character's lips are really shiny.
Also ME 2 and 3 had you design your character in almost-complete darkness (though I would hardly call them that) because they expected you to import your character.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.Except for the releases of Mass Effect 2 that had no import option coz there was no ME 1 on that console :-P (PS 3) Besides, even the import lets you re-do your character. Plus ME 2's textures for the faces was changed from ME 1 so expecting people to import and not want to touch up was kinda dumb. And really what kind of reasoning is that? "We made an option for you to customize the face. But we put it dark coz we didn't want you to use it?"
I do wish the chargen would allow you to see more than the "neutral" expression your character has. My character's "Sad" / "Worried" / "Pained" expression was freaky as hell (And it's the face he has for most of the prologue!)

It's more than the lighting for me. I can never get all the sliders to wherever they need to be to match the face I was initially going for. Eventually I give up and just settle for something which looks decent... and then the game starts and something about the eyes or the jaw or whatever ends up making my character look deformed from certain angles and I have to start over. ::headdesk::
Gone to Faerie, no forwarding address. (AO3)On the subject of Dragon Age 2...I'm gonna be honest, I am enjoying it more than Origins, and I'm almost done with the main plot.
I dunno, while flawed, I just kinda prefer it's attempt at a more character-driven story to Origin's more standard "save the land" plot. Also, playing Mage...I love this one's combat animations.
"If you're out here why do I miss you so much?"Mhm. Thing with 2 is that despite being more character-driven... I don't feel much for many of them.
Conception is sin Birth is pain Life is toil Death is inevitableDAII had all the makings of a good RPG ... conceptually. But because it was so rushed it essentially turned into AAA shovelware. I am also one of those strange people who liked it. I could easily overlook the recycled environments and waves of enemies because we finally got an RPG that wasn't another generic save-the-world story.

A LOT of us die-hard Origins fans would disagree heartily that Inquisition was "superior in every way" to Origins.
I'm not going to tell you not to like Inquisition, but I will suggest you not ignore the fact that Inquisition has a boatload of faults, flaws, and bugs.

"By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion."I, on the other hand, will totally tell you to not like Inquisition. It is a terrible testament to where AAA RP Gs are headed and how every developer now wants to court the "Skyrim audience". The only hope for this genre rests with crowdfunding.
I enjoyed it. You got to see a lot more of Thedas. Origins was just "generic forest, generic forest, town, town."
To be honest you just sound like you're being snobby hipsters about it. And seriously, crowdfunding? What?
