That is a better picture seeing as it's got no helmet on, but it's obviously carrying someone.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickIs that a problem?
If people learned from their mistakes, there wouldn't be this thing called bad habits. Now I'm completely lost. I was agreeing with you.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickMaybe something from Bedknobs And Broomsticks? There must be at least one nice illustrative image in that whole battle scene...
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I have no problems with the pic that the OP suggested.
The current image definitely has to go. It really just looks like a monster of some sort.
Reaction Image RepositoryBedknobs And Broomsticks battle, please.
The problem with that is that there's no way of telling whether there's someone wearing the armor.
The reason I like the pic up top is because without the helmet it's obvious that the armor is moving on it's own.
Reaction Image RepositoryUhm, yes there is. The spaces beyond the noseguards are empty.
It's in the night and it isn't very easy to see people's eyes in those sorts of helmets anyway (except for the middle one.)
If people learned from their mistakes, there wouldn't be this thing called bad habits. That and it's kinda blurry as well. I mean, I guess I can see what you're talking about, but your really have to look hard to see it.
I have nothing against using that movie as an example, but we'd need a more obvious picture.
Reaction Image RepositoryI was thinking of Al from Full Metal Alchemist [1]◊[2]◊ [3]◊ they come out quite fuzzy.
EDIT: Animated armor vs Animated armor [4]◊

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!I like the OP picture and the no 4 from Full Metal Alchemist.
If a chicken crosses the road and nobody else is around to see it, does the road move beneath the chicken instead?I still like the first proposal the best.
Fight smart, not fair.So crowner for the first example and FMA's al vs Whats His Face?
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Blank crowner hooked. Put on all the suggestions, not just a couple of them.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.People, Alphonse may be a famous example, but most of the time, you can't tell that he's just armour, going by out of context.
Yeah, The Destroyer has the same problem, which is why I didn't suggest him - can't find any images that suggest the armor is empty.
Jet-a-Reeno!I had seen Al been fixed a few times, perhaps a picture of that.
If a chicken crosses the road and nobody else is around to see it, does the road move beneath the chicken instead? The problem with those images is that in most of them he just looks like a regular suit of armor rather than one that's animated in some fashion.
Reaction Image RepositoryThe Al examples so far either look like a regular person wearing armor, or an unoccupied suit of armor being attacked. How about these?
Headless Al grabbing a guy's gun
Headless Al pointing to where his head should be
I could look around for more, but it might be tough to find better, since this is from chapter 1's Reveal of Al's nature. The anime's version of this scene might make the hollow part clearer, since in the manga it just looks like a big black blob where his head goes.
Edit, found a couple of Barry:
Barry headless (middle left panel) and spinning his head (lower left)
Barry taking off his head (bottom middle panel) not as clear as I had hoped.

The one with Berry spinning his head is nice, but the text is distracting. I'd vote up Al grabbing the man's gun though, if you post it on the crowner.
I'd advise against using Barry the Chopper for the image simply because his head doesn't look very much like a helmet.
What's precedent ever done for us?Added the Al images to the poll. I have to agree that Barry's helmet doesn't look much like a helmet.
Crown Description:
Nominations for replacement images:
The one right now just looks like some demon to me. The most obvious part about that thing isn't that it's a walking suit of armor (and it just looks like it's wearing armor anyway to me.)
I suggest this:
