It looks like the logo is the same, just with a different color scheme. Is this a permanent change that applies globally, or is it just a thing in the US for the Hulu additions?

It's a change that also applies globally, even to countries that have Star instead of Hulu.

I don't know, but the only thing that has changed is the arch that forms the "+" in the logo, which is now redone. Thanks to Disney's undoing everything they have done during 2021-22, LATAM will get the unified service during this year, complete with all entertainment content from STAR+ but the sports content will move to ESPN+, the European and Asian versions of the service will get the new logo too...

So, Disney+ has revealed a new brand identity in time for their Hulu integration to be launched. I'm gonna miss the whole blue aesthetic that Disney+ used from its launch to now.. as part of this move... The question is, can this logo be used?
