Adjusting the description to focus on the index being about what creators think of viewers (regardless of whether it has anything to do with intelligence, since that aspect makes the scope too narrow) and remove the sliding scale stuff sounds like a good idea. I don't have a strong opinion on whether to rename, but it could be an option.
Edit: On the subject of the Viewers are X snowclone, I did kind of get search-generated index vibes from three of the four currently listed pages fitting that naming scheme. If we rename to move away from the index using that naming scheme itself, I can't think of any suggestions if we do rename.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Hooked a crowner since we seem to have our options laid out for us, and this thread has been kind of inactive for almost a week.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Expand!
Absolute RainbowCalling in favor of expand + rename. Get the name options ready.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportMaybe Creator Reactions Index, Creator Opinions Index, Creator Opinion Index, or any of those three with "Creator" Replaced with "Creator-Audience" or "Creator-Viewer" would work. I'll wait for more suggestions, though, since these might not be good enough.

"As long as I have my comrades with me, I can do anything!" (She/Her) (Current Focus: Cleaning Hell Is That Noise misuse)The winning vote will be the name, while the rest will redirect.
Absolute RainbowCalling in favor of Creator-Viewer Reactions Index, with the other options with at least ten votes and a 2:1 ratio being redirects. I'll move the page later; I'll update the page with the sandbox's contents for now.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Dewicking is done, but instead of closing right away, I'm going to clock this in case anyone has any further changes to make to the index.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass. The clock runs out soon, so I'm just going to close this.

Crown Description:
Consensus was to expand Viewers Are Indexed's scope to cover what creators think of viewers in ways other than intelligence (but still including intelligence) rename it (a draft for what the expanded index would look like can be found at Sandbox.Viewers Are Indexed). What should the page's new name be?
I would note that three of the four items on the index as it stands have the title format "Viewers Are X" which makes me wonder if it was originally intended to capture that snowclone pattern more than anything else (which the description all but says). Since the currently-listed tropes largely date to the Wild West days of the wiki, three of them also reflect negative attitudes writers supposedly have of the audience, while Viewers Are Geniuses is also implicitly complainy. None of them are reactions to things the actual fanbase has done, but attitudes that writers (or, often, executives) bring to the work to begin with. (Note that Sliding Scale Of Viewer Intelligence is a redirect, and the description betrays some additional evidence of a past as a sliding scale.)
As such, I'm not sure any of the proposed additions quite fit the index as it stands. I would propose a rename and reworking of the description.
