@ Riolugirl: As stated by Firock, I have looked at your signup and everything seems to be in order. Adela Moss and Patches the Indeedee are Accepted!

Your Indeedee, as stated, has the ability Inner Focus, which means that Patches has strong focus and doesn't cower away from strong hits. In game terms, Patches is immune to flinching.

You can go ahead and post in the thread with Adela arriving in Aleph Town to pick up her starter whenever you wish.

The Teal Mask DLC has just been released for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. This shouldn't impact the RP much, as the majority of new Pokemon are Legendary and are thus already blanket banned as starter choices.

For the time being, however, I am not allowing any Pokemon newly introduced in the Teal Mask DLC as a starter choice. This primarily impacts Poltchageist, the only new base-stage Pokemon released in the DLC.

I got two questions:

A) Are you still accepting sign-ups?

B) Are duo characters (basically playing as two trainers) allowed?

• Name: Francis Key
• Age: 18
• Appearance:
  • Francis is a scrawny, paleish man standing at 5'9'' feet. He has short dirty blonde hair slicked back and parted on the slide; emerald green eyes and a soft, unshaven face.
  • He wears a sleek brown, three-piece suit with a red tie; dark-colored, narrow trousers and beige two-tone shoes. Underneath the suit is a white dress suit and suspenders connected to the trousers.
• Personality:
  • Francis is an inquisitive young man who often analyzes his surroundings. Being inspective, he can catch subtle details easily such as his Pokemon's body language and when someone is acting Out of Character. He's decently intelligent, possessing a deep interest in literature and he's passionate about writing, trying to find opportunities to write whatever's on his mind.
  • He has some charm, being good with his words and has a serene, bright smile. However, he does need some work on said charm as he does the occasional social blunder that makes him look silly and he has some self-esteem issues (Francis is keeping this particular thing a big secret and will attempt to commit metaphorical Seppuku if it's revealed, but one of his biggest insecurities are his feet; you'll never see him barefooted as a result). Yet, he managed to win over two girls, so he's getting there. Speaking of his love life, Francis is driven by his love for Nicole Beggs, wanting to marry her and made it his goal to become a famous writer and based on Nicole's (joking) suggestion, a Pokemon master. Because of that, he's rather stubborn when it comes to achieving his goals and refuses to stop until he does so.
  • Francis tries to treat his Pokemon as equals, recognizing that teamwork is a crucial part of Pokemon training and that it's worth befriending them. He is attentive to them, making sure that their needs are met. He's willing to accommodate them, training them to improve their strengths and find ways to make up for their weaknesses. However, he has a (now mild) fear of Pokemon that keeps him cautious about his companions but he's actively working on it.
• Items:
  • Tooled Leather Handbag: A trusty handbag that Francis carries around. It contains his stuff.
  • Journal and Pen: Exactly What It Says on the Tin. Francis writes stuff down in his journal with his pen, often detailing his day and his thoughts.
  • Journal No. 2: Another journal. This time containing his draft for his novel that he's working on.
  • Medkit Box: A medkit that he bought for his Pokemon. It contains potions, burn heals, poison heals and a couple revives.
  • Big Coat: A Long knee length wool coat which is worn in cold temperatures. Also comes with leather gloves.
  • Silver Locket: Just a plain old locket. It contains a picture of Nicole Beggs. Francis sometimes pulls it out of his handbag and stares longing at the picture.
• History:
  • Francis was born into a struggling middle-class family in Unova. His father's business failed and his mother used what money she'd earned as a grocer to try to keep the family afloat. Throughout his childhood, Francis was bullied excessively by his peers which his social awkwardness didn't help. There was an incident where no one came to his birthday, so he ate the entire cake, including the candles by himself, and then a wild Venipede snuck into his house and bit him on the foot. Francis had to go to the hospital for that since the Venipede was venomous. As a result, he'd developed a fear of Pokemon and his own feet, refusing to get near the former and not even look at the latter. He got better about his feet phobia when he turned 12, which was replaced by an insecurity about his feet, but his fear about Pokemon, while it weakened over time, was still there.
  • During his adolescence, he published his first work of fiction in the school newspaper and a family friend, Henry Fay, saw the literary potential in him and encouraged him to become a writer. Francis made a few friends at his high school which consisted of Joe Hughe, Eddie Wils, and Jack Sharpe. The three helped with his writing endeavors and Francis sought out to become a successful writer, writing stories for the local newspapers. When he was 17, while on Christmas break, he met the wealthy Ginny Byuchanon. He instantly fell in love with her and they hit it off right away, becoming a couple. However, the romance only lasted a month as Ginny's father forcibly broke off the relationship due to their contrasting social statuses.
  • The breakup drove Francis into a deep depression, with the only things he wrote were letters to Ginny in a desperate attempt to get back with her. However, thanks to his friends' support, he decided to try his hands on writing a novel, titled Other Side of Paradise, which was a Coming of Age story based around a Casanova protagonist, Amory Hayes. As he worked on the novel, Francis was dragged into a country dance by his friends, where he would meet another wealthy girl, Nicole Beggs. Francis and Nicole chatted, danced and eventually flirted with each other. At first, Francis wasn't so willing to let go of Ginny but Nicole's charm and beauty was winning him over. A romance soon formed and Francis became madly in love with Nicole to the point when both turned 18 a few months later, he straight up proposed to her. Nicole, however, declined as she believed her parents would reject it due to their differentiating social statuses. Francis despaired and Nicole, in an odd attempt to console him, joked that being a Pokemon master brings great fortune.
  • Francis took Nicole's words seriously and decided that, in spite of his fear of Pokemon, he'll become a Pokemon master alongside a great writer. He packed up his bags and moved to Tuloh to participate in its Gym Competitions, deciding that having a fresh start would be beneficial for him. There, the love-struck writer is ready to go on his Pokemon journey.

  • Nickname: Amory
  • Moves:
    • Gust

  • Personality: Amory, like his trainer, is a curious creature. He likes exploring and inspecting any new thing he comes across. He finds the sight of Francis writing in his journals engaging, wondering what the funny-looking scribbles in the papers mean, and often watches him write which ends up creeping Francis out. Amory is quite intelligent, good at understanding all sorts of commands, can be taught to do tricks and is pretty flexible.
  • Ability: Big Pecks.
• Other:
  • Francis Key is totally not based on a certain IRL historical author.
  • Francis' text is Cinnamon and Amory's is gray. I'll italicize my Pokemon dialogue text.
  • Amory is indeed named after the protagonist from Francis' novel.
  • Francis will try to find opportunities to write letters to Nicole.

@ Cutegirl920fire : I looked at your signup. Things seem to be in order. I will say that Francis isn't really dressed or packed for a long outdoors journey, but part of me feels it's intentional? You described in your history section that he made a snap decision to become a Pokemon Trainer to impress a girl, so it's possible that in-character he didn't think to dress or pack for hiking/camping? That poor suit's gonna be pretty messed up after a while, heh.

Either way, there's nothing wrong with it, just making you aware. The signup itself seems good, and your Pokemon seems to be in order. I rolled for Amory's ability, and he has the Big Pecks ability. This means that Amory has a stout bird heart and as such it keeps a strong guard up at all times. In game terms, its Defense stat cannot be lowered by opponent's moves. Go ahead and edit the Big Pecks ability into your signup.

Francis Key and Amory are Accepted, but I will give you an opportunity to edit in more suitable clothing or supplies if you would like. They can be in addition to what you have, or replace, if you want.

Quick question. Do I need to sign up again with a new character since I kinda… disappeared after a while during the RP? If so, I’m totally cool with starting from scratch! :3

@ Dawn Of Eclipse: You can if you want to, or you can resume with the original trainer you had. It's all a matter of your preference. Just keep in mind that about a day has passed in-universe since your original post.

• Appearance: Aiden is 5’8 with blue hair, brown skin, a denim jacket over a black t-shirt, denim pants, yellow and blue shoes, and a fanny pack!
• Personality: Aiden is an excitable person, being quick to make friends and is generally a welcoming person. However, when battling he can become nervous to the point of indecision.
• Items: A camera, fanny pack with general items in it (Poke Balls, Potions, etc.), a phone, some hand-me-down camping stuff, and an unbrella.
• History: When he was younger, Aiden used to love watching Trainer Battles, but after failing his own challenge in Hoenn, he felt despondent in his abilities. Eventually, he saw an ad about the Tuloh Region, and decide to pick himself up and try again!

• Starter Pokemon
  • Species: Sobble.
  • Gender: Female.
  • Nickname: Dewdrop.
  • Moves:

@ Dawn Of Eclipse: I took a look at your signup. While nothing seems to be off, and your Pokemon seems to be in order, I can't help but feel that the signup is a little bare-bones. There's not much for me to work with.

Do you think that you could expand this signup somewhat and please add more to it? I would like more detail on the personality, history, and possibly items.

Dewdrop has the Torrent ability, meaning its Water-type attacks are powered up when it's in danger. Go ahead and edit that into your signup.

As Teal Mask has been out for a few months and we have a new DLC incoming in a few weeks, I am lifting the restriction on Pokemon from the land of Kitakami as starter choices. This primarily affects Poltchageist, the only new non-evolution non-Legendary found in Kitakami.

When Indigo Disk launches in mid December, any Pokemon first released in that DLC will be temporarily restricted until the DLC has been out for a few months, to cut down on spoilers for those who haven't played.

Now presenting, a magician in the making!

• Name: Harriet Martins
• Age: 16
• Appearance: Tall and lanky at 5'8", Harriet's pale blonde chin-length hair and light skin add to her wispy look. Her green eyes often have a mischievous glint to them. Even in casual attire, she has a stage magician aesthetic, with a white blouse, a small bow tie, a plain black jacket and shorts, and black ankle boots. She almost always wears a black top hat with a purple band.

• Personality: Harriet acts like a big goof a lot of the time. She likes to pull pranks and generally cause mischief. Part of this is because of her strict, sheltered upbringing and not really knowing how to make friends, so she doesn't always get when she's being annoying. Gets more nervous than she lets on in front of new people, especially crowds, but puts up a mask of cool confidence.
  • Behind her silly exterior is someone with a surprisingly strong work ethic, determined to succeed as a trainer. Due to her grandparents' elderly Alakazam having had a hand in raising her, she has a great deal of respect for Pokemon, viewing them more as teammates than subordinates. Wants to be someone her Pokemon can be proud of.

  • She has a passion for stage magic, and as well as taking part in the league, wants to establish herself as a performer. She's the kind of person who'd be a coordinator if that were a thing in the region, but battles also pique her interest. Having seen online videos of Galarian gym battles and how spectacular they are, she aims to bring that kind of flair to Tuloh.
• Items:
  • Backpack: A sizeable and durable black rucksack with white stars on the back.
  • Camping gear: Small tent, sleeping bag, lighter, the essentials.
  • Rations: A few snack bars and a water flask.
  • Stage magic accessories: A deck of cards, and a black and white wand.

  • Umbrella: A small compact one that she carries around just in case. Force of habit, she's from Galar after all.

• History: Born and raised in Wyndon, Galar, Harriet grew up enthralled by tales of her grandparents' youth. They were once a stage magician duo, travelling the world with their Alakazam, until they decided to settle down and start a family. They continued to do archive work for The Magic Conclave, and Harriet has always viewed them as role models, learning minor tricks of her own, wishing to some day be like them.
  • Her parents, however, had other ideas. As a Macro Cosmos worker, her father pushed her to pursue a more reliable career in business. For everyone who made a name for themselves, he said, there were 99 others who washed out. Even though travelling the world was a long-time dream of Harriet's, she lived sheltered from it, until she found out about the Tuloh league. The falling out was massive when she told her parents she'd signed up, but there wasn't a great deal they could do about it, especially with her grandparents backing her up. She set out to Tuloh, ready to live the dream.

  • Gender: Female
  • Nickname: Laverna
  • Moves: Scratch, Leech Seed, Leafage, Bite

  • Personality: Laverna likes to get her way. She'll act adorable, rub around people's ankles, and exude a sweet scent to get what she wants. Loves to be the centre of attention, and sulks if she feels ignored.
• Other: Expect Harriet to get a lot of Dark and Psychic type Pokemon, as well as a few rabbit ones like Buneary.

I rolled for Laverna's ability and got the Overgrow ability, which means that Laverna's Grass-type attacks get more powerful when she's in danger. Go ahead and edit that into your signup.

The Indigo Disk DLC has just released. As a result, all Pokemon that originate in that DLC are not going to be allowed as starters. This won't be a problem, as all of the newly-revealed Pokemon are either evolutions, Legendaries, or Paradox Pokemon.

Ok, let’s give this a shot. I added a few extra things if that’s ok! ^^

• Name: Vin

• Age: 17

• Gender: Demiboy

• Pronouns: He/Them

• Sexuality: Bi

• Appearance: Vin is 5'7 with light brown skin and wine red bangs, often seen wearing a gray polo shirt, some torn jeans, a beanie, some gray socks and sneakers, and some white glasses.

• Personality: Vin is a quiet and reserved person, feeling nervous about letting anyone get too close to them. When they have been able to get close to someone, Vin shows off a more excitable and positive personality. Lately, regardless of how kind they are to him, Vin often ends up pushing others away due to his own paranoia. Recently, they’ve been able to realize this, and he’s strived to take more steps to talk and get to know others. Even if it’s really tough.

• Items: Vin carries a backpack with camping supplies, a few Pokeballs and Potions (10x and 5x respectively), a map, a Rotom Phone, some spare clothes, and a tattered photo album. He gets very quiet and even aggressive when asked about it.

• History: Vin was born in Unova, growing up with his parents and being inspired by the trainers and stories he’d hear in his hometown of Nimbasa City. However, when they turned 11 and was supposed to become a Pokemon Trainer, there was an incident during a battle outside that caused his building to burn down, with his parents still inside. After returning home and finding their home burned down except for a ruined photo album, they were heartbroken, deciding to never become a Pokemon trainer. Years later, after lots of self-discovery and traveling between foster homes, Vin has decided to forgo his decision, preparing himself for his own journey across the Tuloh Region.

• Starter Pokemon:
  • Species: Jangmo-o
  • Gender: Male
  • Nickname: Riyu
  • Moveset:
    • Level 1: Tackle
