As a mexican (and to make it clear, as a native mexican who never has left Mexico at all), I've checked the Germans Love David Hasselhoff in the Western Animation part and it mentions Lisa Simpson it's very popular in Latin America. Which is actually something I'm puzzled by since Lisa at least in current days it's arguably just as controversial or even impopular in México or even latin america as a whole.

There's actually a lot of videos and comments that corroborate this.

And those were a couple of videos, as there's a lot of videos of spanish speaking people, a lot of them from latin america you can find with the caption of "lisa el peor personaje" in youtube and other social media does showcase dislike for her. A lot of the comments though do mention she was good at first, so I'm inclined to believe the caption there it's probably just outdated to the fact Lisa has become as much of a Base-Breaking Character here in latin america just the same as in the USA rather than a lie per see, but what do you think about it?

I'm Brazilian, but I've never been a huge Simpsons fan, so I cannot really talk for sure. The only thing I know is that she doesn't really seem to be more popular here than in the USA.

I think this does seem to demonstrate a problem with tropes like Germans Love David Hasselhoff and Mexicans Love Speedy Gonzales, as also discussed here: It's easy to speak in generalizations about how other countries view media, and it's hard to prove/disprove if you aren't from those other countries/know someone from them. For every obvious example, like how the Disney Duck comics of Carl Barks and others are huge in Scandinavian countries, there's many more that are just "dude trust me".

The thing about TV Tropes is that there are so many anecdotes without verification.

Just because a troper knows a huge Lisa Simpson fan in Latin America doesn't mean that she's very popular there.

Kirby is awesome.
