Agreed. The worst part is how many of those UR's are actually vanilla cards. Want a decent Dark Magician or Blue-Eyes core? Too bad.
Looks like Konami noticed a flaw in their ranked system: At the end of a season, you didnt gain any of the rewards from ranking up below (so silver through gold rank up rewards were lost forever) In response, players have been losing and trying to get demoted on purpose so that they can then rank back up and get their gems.
Konami announced in a notification they are going to give all players those gem from lower ranks at the end of each season from now on, and that proper rewards from last season will be given out shortly.

I'm currnely running Madolche for Ranked, but also have Aromage, Rikka, Weather Painter, and other decks. At the expense of whaling and only have 2 Ash, 2 nibiru and one Crossout meta staple wise.

I’m playing a Mythical Beast/Spellbook mix. I don’t expect it to get me to platinum and stay there, but it’s fun to play and it’s pretty solid for where I’m at. I could always mix the Mythical Beasts with Endymion instead of Spellbooks if I wanted something more competitive - I have most of those from the same secret pack. I also have a budget Spiral Phantasm deck, but I haven’t tested it all that much.
I have a lot of saved gems, and I’d like to try something else, but I want to make sure it’s something I’d actually like.

should mention that I only bought the 3 cheap apcks and the 3 special packs made to commemorate the start of the game.
As for decks I'm going for next. I'm prolly gonna look into Mermail, Utopia and Traptix.
Oh good this game has a thread. Anyway I've been playing Nekroz and have had a mostly good time.

You know what feels good? Being able to D.D. Crow away Accesscode's target to gain attack points because they also sent a Tri-Brigade card to the graveyard and activated its effect. That (and Maxx C drawing me into Veiler to stop another summon admittedly) helped me survive on 300 LP, which was all I needed to take them from 8000 to 0.
How far do monarchs tend to go in this current meta?Had a rough time in Gold with my Monarch deck and I'm wondering if a should abandon it for Darkloads from this point.

Both have a memetic reputation for bricking, for reason that I presume have to do with how top heavy they are level-wise

Don't you love it when your opponent has an empty field and one card in hand, so you decide to go for lethal? Then the game suddenly turns into Nibiru beatdown for a couple turns. Good thing the big rock was on my side this time.
Anyone here make Platinum, and have suggestions how to do it? I just reached Gold 1 tonight, and am guessing Platinum is a different ballgame once I win a few more matches. I have been running pure Eldlich for my ranked games, with the good fortune to face only a single mirror match so far, and only a couple of top shelf decks like Drytron. I expect my luck to run out shortly.

Made platinum a few weeks ago...and then dropped to gold shortly after. Proving that the former was just luck.
Best advice I can give is to get the UR Game Breakers when possible and hope you lucked into a long win streak.

x2 Eldlich is basically one of the format's meta decks so you should be fine.
Basically you need a deck that can get started up fast and can eaither recover well from interuptions or can break down walls easily. Eldlich and drhtrons are popular since they are difficult to get over but with the right cards and knowledge you can push through. Its also importsnt for your deck to not be a gem guzzler to be playable. Gems are pretty valuable so you want ro use them for secret packs that will defenitely help the climb. After youve climbed enough you can then use whatever for fun stuff
I finished the Solo campaign to build resources first. I played one unranked game to get a feel for the gui, and was able to jumped headfirst into ranked play with a more or less complete Eldlich build, sans most of the extra deck. I have yet to lose, winning 29 games straight, with only one of those from my opponent disconnecting. That said, I have been very lucky to avoid top shelf decks and good players slumming it on extra accounts with rogue decks; I am certain my luck will finally run out when I pick up again tomorrow.
I was kinda hoping someone would know what decks are bouncing around at the top. I expect tons of top meta decks, but was wondering how often I can expect mirror matches; the one I was in got seriously ugly, and I am not sold on some of my main deck slots.

The event focuses on the use of XYZ cards, powerful monsters present exclusively in your extra deck that are summoned by sacrificing a number of monsters who share the same level. In the XYZ Festival, decks that have exclusively xyz cards in their extra deck will be able to collect medals from duels against other players. W Inning provides the most yield, but draws and loses also grant medals too.
If you create your own deck, rather than a pre-built deck, you earn double medals from all your duels. As such, now is a great time to start building up a deck with XYZ in mind ahead of the event launch. The only way you won’t earn medals is if you surrender, so make sure you don’t duck out early!
If you’re looking for a deck recommendation for this festival, one cheeky way you can get around the XYZ requirement is through a deck that doesn’t use the extra deck at all! A great example is a Ruin and Demise deck, that makes use of ritual summons to bring out massive monsters that are a pain to remove off the board. Aside from that, you could also use your regular deck with two copies of Pot of Extravagance included, a spell card that allows you to banish six cards from your extra deck to draw two cards.
It looks like Eldich AND/OR Zoodiacs are going to rule this. Good thing I put together a Zoodiac deck just in time.
