Ambiguous Name: Exty Years From Now

Is it time for a crowner now or do we need more discussion? The options proposed so far have been:

• Rename Exty Years from Now.

• Merge Exty Years from Now with Exactly Exty Years Ago.

I'd imagine merging would include coming up with a new name for the merged page (if that's what we end up going with), similarly to what we did with Unintentionally Unwinnable and Manly Facial Hair.

What about making it trivia, since it involves the release date of the work?

I can see the logic of that. It does involve something objective about the work too though, and I remember a similar argument about whether Same Content, Different Rating should be trivia that never came to a conclusion.

Okay. The cycle created by their solar system happens every 1,000 years. They found evidence of a previous civilization that was destroyed almost 1,000 years ago. Underneath that was another civilization that was destroyed almost 2,000 years ago. The point is that the characters can conclude that the end of their civilization will happen "soon", but since you cannot get an exact year from carbon dating, archeology cannot predict how many hours they have left before the apocalypse.

That sounds very interesting, but as none of that context was included in the example I'm not sure why it matters.

Because if the example is misuse, then it should be removed. If it is ZCE, then context should be added. I'm familiar with the work, so it does become my responsibility to make sure that the example is fixed.

Just a historical note: part of the weirdness on the current version of the page might be because Exactly Exty Years Ago was originally part of this trope before someone pointed out it should be split out (TLP thread). Similarly for Year X, as a matter of fact (TRS thread).

While we're here, does anyone have an alternative page quote? I pointed out in the page quote thread a few weeks ago that the current one is more Exactly Exty Years Ago (it dates from before the split, in fact), and it looks like no-one's come up with a better one yet.

If the description needs to be tweaked to account for the splits, go ahead and remove the pre-split leftovers.

We do still need to clean the on-page examples in addition to the wicks, since I didn't touch them when moving the page.

Not great, because it looks like Exactly Exty Years Ago due to comparing two in-universe years. The ideal quote would establish the work being set in a specific year, then the work year would be easily compared to it. Maybe a line from 1984 would work? The book was written in 1948.

I forgot to mention that I think we should remove the current quote regardless of whether we find a new one, since it fits Exactly Exty Years Ago and not this trope.
