Watched the first episodes/read the manga afterwards. Interesting story (for now). I'm more interested to see the backstory of the actual Son Ryang-ha.

Just a FYI that there's a drama CD version of this in 2018. Would've liked to hear it.

I've read stuff about it, but Fe wrote in the manga afterword that he helped out with the script and production.

Now I want to hear Jim (the guy didn't have a name in the manga, aka the Indian Guy) with no mouth from Tetsuya Kakihara.

Cool.

I don’t have a Pixiv account, so I wouldn’t know.

Seeing this thread reminded me that I read a volume or two of this a while ago. But I don't really remember it.

I ended up watching it with the other 2 shows I'm watching this season and I quite enjoyed the first episode.

It'll be interesting to see if the one way relationship gets any less toxic. Either way I don't expect it to happen anytime soon.

The only reason I'm not calling this the most fucked-up stalker-ass incel shit in anime history is because I know Redo Of Healer exists. I'm actually legitimately impressed they managed to make something this misogynistic while keeping it TV-14.

Um...okay? I know this kind of dynamic isn't for everyone (nor will most anime fans be used to it since it's primarily in girl targeted manga/manhwa/novels which haven't been mainstream in a long while) and Song is rather weird but it's kind of amazing seeing people hyperfocus on the romantic framing of his behaviour instead of wondering why he's doing it like they're meant to.

[up]Perhaps because he's a psychotic creepazoid and Bastard Boyfriend isn't a Dead Horse Trope yet for some inexplicable reason?

After watching the premiere I really can't bring myself to care why he's doing it, I'm too busy being appalled that some shitstain at Crunchyroll greenlit the simulcast.

He's just her stalker, the story is very clear about that and she doesn't know what of since he refuses to be honest with his intent on why he's interacting with her. His behaviour isn't really meant to be sexy, Chateau isn't even in the state of mixed reactions like most shoujo leads, she's explicitly put off by him and the viewer is meant to be confused at his weird courting along with her because it's also a mystery series.

I don't really care whether or not you keep watching or like the story, I think the future manga chapters have their own plot wonks, but you're completely missing the point of everything and it's actually kind of uncomfortable. I won't deny that years of actually being the target audience for this media means my shoujo love interest hate threshold is just higher than most but this being what you consider the lowest of low, second only to redo of the healer, when there are stories that don't even have the excuse of an underlying mystery or a setting where the characters are killers for hire, is baffling to me.

[up][up]If that's the case then they did a horrible job of establishing it. He plays like literally every other Stalking is Love male lead I've ever come across: he sexually assaults the (completely useless) female lead onscreen in the first episode and comes within a hair of outright rape-by-extortion—only dodged that bullet because she finally musters the guts to back out.

"No" means "fucking stop it". I have no interest whatsoever in seeing the rest of this series.

I’m not sure if sexually harassing is the word. He did stalk her for a date in return. That’s for sure.

Decided to jump on the manga a few days ago. Things do at least become clear after the first volume.

Production values for episode 2 was rougher than one, but it's still enjoyable even if it fails at conveying some expressions. Pacing is still pretty on track, though I could have done without the two minute recap.

Chateau either had the best or worst luck on the planet. falling off a cliff with minimal injuries (RIP to the other chick, man her week was rough) and getting saved thanks to Song's stalker tendencies. However, it's Song's fault she's in this mess in the first place lol, his wooing technique remains completely abhorrent, failing to clear up loose ends that may come after her to get at him, killing the person he surely knows hired her when there's no way she wouldn't find out. If you didn't have a suspicion childhood flashback and a car accident, what would you do huh? Dummy.

Yeah honestly RIP to the other chick, she had a horrible, horrible week. I’m at least glad the truck driver didn’t get offed though.

Episode 3: Oh wait Chateau’s mom is still alive. For some reason I thought she was dead.

Chateau was cute especially with Song throwing her off balance. I think I will shift to the manga though. The anime’s fine but I don’t think it would be a significant improvement, or significantly different, from the source material. Does anyone know what chapter this corresponds to?

Chapters 8-9.

The whole (warning, kind of vague manga spoilers) "Stun gun don't work, my nerves are fried from drugs" shit was one of the moments I realized that the creator seems to go out of their way to engineer Chateau winning things. The car accident was perfectly understandable but this felt like a badly researched contrivance because there can't be any encounter where Chateau comes out on top even if she actually shows competency. Seriously it bugs me so much, this is my absolute biggest criticism of the series. Her not being able to physically overpower Song is fine, everyone else is just frustrating
