Would be funny if it was Mc Donald’s.
History repeating itself.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Speaking of Sonic tie-ins with restaurants, there is an actual restaurant called Sonic's and one of the items they are known for is chili dogs, and somehow there has never been any cross promotion between Sonic and Sonic.
Not officially. I remember MANY years ago seeing a picture of one of their signs vandalized. They hung an "& Knuckles" banner under it
Well, I guess I spoke too soon!
We actually did get a trailer at CinemaCon! Here's a description because they banned phones and cameras. (Damnit...)
- Get ready for Robotnik to go big...literally!
- Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles vs. Shadow!
- Sonic vs. Shadow...ON SHADOW'S MOTORBIKE!
- And surprisingly, still no word on Shadow's VA!
Double damnit, tell us who's voicing our edgelord!

Did Shadow speak on the trailer though?
Every time someone claims to be realistic is a dour cynic in disguise. From what I've seen, no.
SoundCloudShadow will be voiceless because he's too angry to talk
New theme music also a boxApparently not! (We only have descriptions to work with, so if none of them have said anything about it…)

Shadow communicates ONLY IN GUNSHOTS.
Which is to say that he will still hold conversations. It's just that his side of the conversation consists of firing wildly into the air, and the other characters then inexplicably know what he said the same way everyone instantly understands R2-D2.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3."Shadow, you need to infiltrate the base and get the data before it's deleted. Can you do that?"
Bang bang
"Good, see you soon."

"That we continue to persist at all is a testament to our faith in one another."Apparently we won't find out who voices Shadow until the movie itself comes out.
Watch SymphogearProbably for the best. Keeps things interesting.
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).When did they reveal that Idris Elba was voicing Knuckles?
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!Before the trailer even came out.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.Like 4 or 5 months before the trailer came out?
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!I was looking around and the idea that we won't know who is voicing Shadow comes from this joke tweet
I don't know anything about Jeff Fowler, but he either is himself a fan, or at least does his homework. That's some good referencing.
I'm still very curious to see who will play Gerald Robotnik, since it's very likely that whoever plays him will bounce off Jim Carrey Robotnik, and you need a major change for Robotnik in each movie to keep Jim Carrey interested considering his opinions on sequels.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Gerald will probably be portrayed as very sinister but straight-lased to contrast with Carrey's more manic Eggman.
This is the first time that theoretically, Robotnik can interact with his grandfather, and I think they might play that card for Jim Carrey to work with.
Since it's lore that Eggman was inspired by his grandfather to become a scientist so an egotistical maniac like Jim Carrey Eggman interacting with Gerald Robotnik might be a fresh change of pace for him. He's never interacted with anyone he considers equal or even a superior intellect.

I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Jim Carrey's Robotnik does interact with Agent Stone, but then again, Robotnik doesn't really treat Agent Stone that well.
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!I thought Gerald was supposed to be long-dead by the time Robotnik was active as a villain.
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).I mean, that won't stop things like A.I. duplicates or even recordings of Gerald from showing up. Twice now we've had recordings of Gerald progress the plot, heck, it's how Shadow found the mental willpower to defeat Black Doom.
I strongly believe that we'll see an A.I. version of Gerald and that's the version of him that will interact with Jim Carrey Robotnik.
Yeah, Dr. Robotnik does not treat Stone well or see him as an equal. That said, Stone is indeed the closest thing Robotnik has to a friend, and in the comic, Robotnik does admit Stone is a genius in his own right, but nowhere near as smart as Robotnik himself.

I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.I've had a personal that Carreybotnik isn't of any biological relation to the movie-verse's version of Gerald Robotnik (unlike in the games, where Eggman is explicitly Gerald's grandson and Maria's younger cousin), since he claims to have been an orphan in the first movie. Instead, I've hypothesized that Ivo grew up idolizing Gerald and fantasizing about having been related to such a brilliant man, to the point that he decided to take Gerald's surname when he became an adult.
Although, if my blatant tinfoil-hattery turns out to somehow be right, I wonder how he'd manage to find Shadow and/or the ARK. Maybe he had Agent Stone buy him Gerald's long-forgotten self-storage locker in an auction after coming back to Earth in the second movie, and Ivo just didn't get a chance to go through it to find the genetically-engineered hedgehog inside it until after he had to lay low?

Some rumours are that Sonic 3 will be split into two instalments due to some snag with promotional deadlines
